I’m a Welk owner in CA but because of Covid, I decided to stay closer to home here in CO this year. I also wanted to check out this new Welk site so I called Welk and arranged an exchange. I was not thinking when I agreed to the small one bedroom, so I have to accept some of the responsibility. However, the small one bedroom is more than small - it is very cramped in the “living room/dining room” area. There is a couch (which when folded out nearly touches the table) but no chair or end tables/lamps. The eating space is a bench, two chairs and a table that barely seats four. The kitchen is nice, but not well planned. A full size refrigerator, stove and dishwasher are not needed when guests rarely stay more than a week and some of that space could have better been used for a drawer for silverware (currently on a cabinet shelf). Bathroom space is large and again wasted space which would have been better utilized in the living space. Quality of some furnishings is also questionable for a “luxury” resort. The insert in the dining table is not level and will no doubt after time have build up debris. And why are the side tables in the bedroom metal, not wood?
These things are really a result of design flaws and it’s too late to change now, but very disappointing.
Other issues, like a closed pool and no planned on site activities, were no doubt a result of just reopening June1. However, surely reception staff should know where all rooms are located and not mislead guests at checkin.
My comments are meant not only for other Welk owners who must beware what they’re getting for an exchange and also for hotel type guests who need to know the small one bedroom is really small.

We had to wait for months to get in here due to covid and our schedule. We're owners with Welk and was wondering what all the hype was about this property. The property is centrally located between Breckenridge and Frisco. It seemed smaller than the other Welk properties. The rooms are very nicely decorated and equipped with everything you need as far as kitchen items. Covid guidelines were pretty strict which we didn't like because we're fully vaccinated. But due to Colorado dictating it you're stuck with wearing mask inside the hallways and common areas. Our owners update wasn't high pressure because we knew they're being bought out. Although the property is nice and we don't ski, we probably won't be back because we went right after the high season and the things you normally could do was closed for the season or hadn't opened yet. The restaurants in the area is expensive and when you look at their website, and go there, then the prices are a lot higher. So, thankfully the resort has full kitchens which makes it more affordable to eat for the family.

Stayed for 1 night with my family of 4 in a 1 bedroom suite. The suite was huge and had plenty of space to spread out. The suite had all the kitchen items wr needed to make a meal. Bathroom was large and well appointed. The shower head they choose was a poor design and esulted in awful water pressure. Staff was great and the indoor pool area was fantastic for the kids. Hotel is not in the heart of Breckenridge but is only a few miles down the road. So if you either use the free shuttle or have your own car it's not a big deal. I will absolutely stay here again.

Note - we had so many options to stay for our Labor Day weekend getaway. We opted for this new hotel after several calls confirming what amenities were available. We were told that hot tub pool and fire pit open. You have to be aware this is not 100% true. NO room Service or real food on premises. You can get a snack at coffee bar before 10, but then the ONLY thing available is a hot dog at the pool side bar which is open from 11-3. There are small snacks available from 3-11, but when we tried to Order a charcuterie board or pulled pork nachos we were told that the equipment was NOT operational and we would have to wait for maintenance to come and fix the equipment. They could not guarantee that once fixed the food would be done in under 30 minutes. ***The hot tub pool fire pit hours are limited from 10 am to 9 PM. We asked about reservations as that was our experience in Vail where we could book time at the pool. That is not an option at this resort and there’s no wiggle room on the hours so if you get in late or are an early riser and want to enjoy the hot tub you will not have that option. Also know that the fire pit is within the gates of the pool area so if you want to enjoy an evening fire in the cool air. You can only do this until 9 pm. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. For $400plus per night we had expected services and accommodations which was not the case. You will also be charged a resort fee of $50. We also did not see the 25% discount applied to our bill or a credit for the resort fee as per our Welk intro email.
When I asked for the manager at the front desk to debrief in my concerns I was told they would pass “it” along to Dan the GM and that he “works all the time” so he will reach out. Well we are now three nights into our stay and haven’t heard from Dan. So do not stay here if you expect to have things available to you. It’s not going to happen. Sad. We won’t be back even though the facility is new and lovely.

I would have really liked to leave a positive review for this resort because it really is beautiful. Our view was fantastic and the room was spacious and very nice however the customer service completely ruined our experience.
I expressed our concerns during check out and was given the GM’s card to contact. I emailed and called Dan Dohner and have not heard a peep in over 3 weeks. I even left comments in their survey and asked to be contacted and still nothing. For that reason, they have lost me as a customer.

Cons:
The beds are very uncomfortable. They look great but the sheets felt like burlap and made it an unpleasant sleeping experience. Wasn’t a huge deal but the next two experiences really didn’t help.
We are woken up at 3:30 am by the front desk agent asking us if we were banging on the wall because a neighboring room called to complain. We were completely asleep and couldn’t believe he was calling each room to ask that question instead of sending security or a supervisor to check out the noise themselves.
That same night we were woken up by the alarm in the hotel room at 6am. It was extremely loud that I could bet our neighbors woke up as well.
When these concerns were brought up at check out, we were asked how we would like to pay for our $100 lobby bar tab.

Again, these weren’t deal breakers for us but to express our feelings about our stay and to be completely disregarded just leaves an awful taste in my mouth about the culture of this company. And the fact we were spending $700 a night just made it so much more disappointing.

Don’t waste your time and stay closer to the slopes. It was a 15 min drive each time and it’s just not worth it.

This is a great place. I'm a resort junkie. Colorado is my home so I'm close enough to jump all around. Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, but I've settled now on Breckenridge. This Lodge is about a mile or so away from town, and I didn't want us to drive back and forth so we used the free shuttle. I had my older folks with me and rented a two bedroom unit. I was pretty happy. The rooms and kitchen were a great fit and a large kitchen table made ordering dinner in one night a real comfortable experience. The staff here really made this experience even better. From the front check in staff, to the lounge wait staff, to the shuttle drivers who promptly picked us up and dropped is off. The Pool was great and hot tubs were spacious. I made a request for our room to face the river and they had a great spot for my parents to sit and enjoy the very. My dad was able to drop poles in with my son and they had a lot of fun. We will definitely come back. I wouldn't put down bringing your own food if you can. The lounge had a decent menu, but wasn't huge and then eating in town was hit and miss. Either really nice and very expressive or so,so at an average price. I brought food for breakfast, but in the evening when I saw other families grilling, I wished I had a dinner or two planned so we could have just stayed put at the resort. Stay here, it's great.

On the one hand, the room was spotless, and the view is very nice. Other hand, you’re paying quite a lot to stay here. Given that, they could perhaps offer Starbucks coffee packets in the rooms instead of the cheapest possible, and decent toilet paper instead of the brittle, thin rolls you find in truck stops. A little laundry softener would make the towels feel less like sandpaper. I was shocked that the concierge – – in a hotel in a town where everyone is coming to ski – – did not know what time the lifts opened. He was far more focused on getting me to take the one hour timeshare tour.

Given the price, no need to stay here again.

You can tell the resort is new bc its beautifully decorated with gorgeous grounds. It was very clean and in the lobby they had a fireplace, pool table and shuffle board game with a tv and couches. The pools and hot tubs were beautiful and overlooked the mountains. The room itself (322) was beautifully decorated with a full kitchen, a table for 4, full laundry facilities, nice size bedroom with fireplace and very large patio that overlooked the pools and mountains. My only caveat about the room is that if you keep the sofa bed pulled out there is no room to walk between the bed and the kitchen table and no place for people who are sleeping there to store their clothes. The room could've been a little bigger. As for the resort, it's not a hotel so the sofa bed was not turned down which I didnt like and there is no-one to help you with your luggage. Another con, is there really isn't a restaurant on site. They have a bar with small plates. The location was great bc it was 5 minutes from town and 5 minutes from Frisco. All staff was very friendly.

The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very well appointed. However the place is run like a motel. There is no housekeeping. (June 2023) They wont even enter your room to set up the pull out bed or assemble a crib. Soap and shampoo is in dispensers in the shower and they wont give you any which are not in deepeners for the beautiful bathtub, making the tub unusable. Everything, and I mean everything is at an extra cost. Raining outside and want a game for your kids? Buy it. Scrape your knee in the lobby? Buy a Band-Aid. Want to be part of any of the activity the hotel advertises like a firepit or paint night? All extra charge of course. They even had the audacity to tell me that if I wanted housekeeping one time over my 5 night stay I would have to pay and extra $300 for it. There is no "resort" or "Villas". It is one large building, with all the rooms in it. The grounds are all ripped up to build time shares. Time shares, in 2023! (don't ask the concierge anything. His sole job is to try to convince you to buy a time share. He doesn't even know anything about the area) The hotel is on a beautiful river but there is no where to even enjoy the river or the mountains, as there is construction everywhere and no paths or seats outside of the single building. Overall, no way this is a four star hotel. It is an expensive Air bnb, with no service what so ever. Truly shocked by my stay in this supposedly 4 star Hyatt Resort. Have never experienced a lack of service like the kind here. Will be reaching out to Hyatt as well. Save your money, go elsewhere.

Our family stayed in a one bedroom suite and were really impressed with how nice the room was. The kitchen was fully furnished and were given enough cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, dish soap, dish washer detergent) for our 5 day stay. My favorite parts of the were the fireplace in our room and the amazing view from the patio.

The hotel sits on a beautiful pond with views of the mountains. The pools were a highlight for my kids! They loved the water slide and the ability to swim inside and outside. There were so many hot tubs that we always had one to ourselves. The shuttle to downtown Breck was very easy to use too.

My only negative with this hotel was their staff. They were incredibly slow to respond to calls (we had a problem with our washing machine and I was on hold for 10 minutes) and didn’t seem very knowledgeable of the property. It wasn’t the high quality customer service we’re used to receiving at hotels. But overall, my family GREATLY enjoyed this hotel and would come back!

Not really walkable. 2.5 miles. They have bicycles available For rent $35. Shuttle is limited hours. We were able to shuttle in one night for dinner and found a Lyft back to resort for $15.

There is a small coffee shop in the lobby which has a few pastries. If you prefer a full breakfast you’ll need to bring your own food. There is a grocery store about 2 miles away towards Breckinridge.
