Check in process was quick, room was clean and updated. I was traveling with my fur baby and we had a ground floor room which had a small patio and there was a dog potty area just across the parking lot from the patio, which was very convenient!!! I'm a female traveler who mostly travels alone and felt very safe in this area. Staff was very friendly and helpful!! As far as Covid, everyone had a mask on, and wore them properly!!!

Odd stay. There were skinny dippers in the pool a half hour past the pool closing hours. Also, a homeless man bathed in the pool and then spent a couple hours drying his clothes near the elevator. We surprised him when we got off the elevator and he told us his story. We did not leave until he finally left. The room had a smell to it. Instead of giving out an orange and blueberry bar, it would be better to have no breakfast and lower the room price a few bucks.

I wheeled into Boulder in the late evening with nowhere to stay and no plans. After 11hours on my bicycle, I was in no mood to look around. A quick check of available lodging showed the Best Western right around the corner! Geography made the decision and it worked out great.

IVE NEVER BEEN SO DISSATISFIED IN MY LIFE WITH A ROOM OR THE SERVICE!! i switched rooms SEVERAL times trying to get the room that was advertised online with a BRAND NEW WALK-IN SHOWER like i had once had previous. i literally had 4 different rooms during this stay to try and get the new bathroom. NEVER GOT IT!! the last room they ended up putting me in was absolutely the worst of them all because it was RIGHT next to the pool. i couldn’t even sit outside with my dogs in peace if i wanted to. there was so many different types of music going on and kids running EVERYWHERE and parents too drunk to give a damn. that’s not the hotels fault but. this is a pandemic and not one time during all of this did a hotel associate come and do anything about it even tho i reported the issue a couple times! again. NOT SATISFIED AT ALL!!!

Hi kodaboda528, We are the only hotel that does not charge a pet fee. We have a limited number of rooms that we allow pets in. This helps alleviate challenges with those that have pet allergies. Perhaps you stayed once without a pet, and this time with a pet. This scenario allows for the challenge of not being able to find the room that you had previously stayed in. Either way, I am sorry that we were unable to get you into the room that you desired. Ari

I can't believe this place has such good ratings. It was horrible. I waited too late to book a hotel when I was in Boulder so I ended up booking this place through Priceline at 11pm for that night. When I got to the hotel, it was dark and the parking lot on the right side was full. I got out to walk to the front desk building, and there was a guy walking a dog, with a rope---not a leash. FIRST RED FLAG. When I was checking in, a group of 6 police officers walked in behind me. They waited until I was done to talk to the lobby person. After I re-parked my car to be closer to the hotel room, I walked around the building and saw that the cops were breaking into a hotel room and searching the bed, closet, etc. So a police raid, SECOND RED FLAG. When I got into the building, it started to seem obvious to me that this wasn't just a regular hotel. It was one of those hotels where people actually LIVE THERE. Inside the hotel room, the floors were sticky, it smelled like stale smoke, and the walls were thin. The people on both sides of the room were so loud. The room to the right was having curse out fights, it was wild. I kept hearing activity right outside of my door. I started worrying that someone was trying to ge in my room. I was just going to stay from 11:30PM-3:30AM because I was going to get an early start to watch the sunrise at RMNP. I figured I'd just charge my phone and lie down for a few hours of rest. After a few minutes of lying on the bed, I started to itch and my throat hurt. I'm allergic to dogs and there was dog hair all over the bed. The room wasn't clean, the hotel wasn't actually a hotel, and there was shady activity going on. I sat up and tried to sleep for a while but kept waking up to noise like someone trying to open my door. Finally at 1:30AM, I couldn't take it anymore. I just grabbed my backpack and left the room. People were hanging out in the hallway so I bolted. Then when I went around the building, I bumped into the guy whose room was raided a few hours before and he winked at me. I took off running to the parking lot where another couple was walking their dog. All of Boulder seemed to shut down and go to sleep at 9pm on a Thursday but the Best Western Boulder was popping. I was a female travelling alone and that place was so sketchy. I would not recommend to ANYONE to book here. I'm really disappointed that it had such good reviews on Tripadvisor and Priceline. Priceline had the nerve to call it "Luxury". There is apparently some designated "hotel rooms" but overall it looks like it's mostly short term housing.

Hi limonjade, Your experience was uncommon compared to the experience of most guests. Our hotel caters to business travelers, as well as visiting scientists from the University of Colorado, NOAA, and NIST. We recently completed a 3.2 million dollar remodel, which included upgraded furnishings to all of our guest rooms. As the only hotel in Boulder to offer private patios or balconies, we have been in high demand the last few months. Our 1000 Trip Advisor ratings span 14 years, and average over 4 stars. I was not present for your experience, but I can attempt to clarify the position of the hotel. We have over 30,000 guest per year, and with this comes a great responsibility for guest safety. Our staff is trained up to a certain level. Occasionally, someone may require medical or emotional help that we can not provide. In this situation, we will choose to contact an ambulance or local law enforcement. This was the case on the night of your arrival, and I apologize if this caused you to be concerned. Ari
