I recently returned to the Osprey for my second visit. I noticed a very interesting positive metric: their great staff retention. I recognized several faces from last year and they remembered us too. The friendliness of the staff felt authentic and morale was high.
A few more specific notes:
*The hot tub / outdoor heated pool experience was delightful because I had them all to myself most of the time. It's a small establishment, so the ratio of guests to hot tub / pool space was very favorable.
*The elk chili is excellent.
*Just come here for lunch. Take off you ski boots, change out a layer in your room if you need to. If you have a room with a dining space, place your room service order at the bar. It's so much more relaxing than the on-mountain cafeterias.
*If I could make one thing different I'd ask the Beaver Creek snowcat crew to prioritize the runs off the Strawberry Chair (not something the Osprey has any direct control over). We would have loved those if they had been freshly groomed, and it would have been a wee bit more convenient to stick with the Strawberry Chair. But I got pretty good at keeping my momentum across the bridge coming over from the base of the Centennial Lift.
See you next year!

We recently spent 4 nights at Osprey as part of a Ski / Snowboard week in Winter Park / Vail. It's literally 15 steps from the back door to the line at Strawberry Peak Express lift, I'm told it's the absolute closest resort to lift in North America. Even though Osprey relies on seasonal workers as do most resorts, I was quite impressed with the overall level of personal service we received. Sam, the Ski/Snowboard valet was super helpful and watched out for our gear and got us on / off the mountain conveniently. Great hot tub, pool, sauna and steam room for apres. My only very minor complaint is that I think their draft beer system design could be improved, they seemed to have major issues with fully foamed draft beer every day.

If you've ever wanted a true ski-in/ski-out experience, then you need to stay here. They're not lying when they say it's the closest chairlift in North America. After picking up our skis and boots from the attendant, it was maybe, at most, a 20 second walk to the Strawberry lift. If you opened up your room window by the lift, you could hear the chatter of the skiers in line.

We just booked our stay for this upcoming winter with them, and gladly paid more than some of the local hotels in that area because of the experience we had in February 2023. From the staff to the experience, everything was phenomenal. The breakfast each morning was amazing, and many options, so everyone had a choice of what they'd like. We had the larger room, I think they call it a deluxe, and it was a wonderful size, but possibly too big for us as we kept our skis with the attendant. The bed and accommodations were great, and if you prefer a little more room, go that route.

The walk to Beaver Creek village was fine, and I think it took us about 2-3 minutes to get to the heart of the village, where there are more shops and restaurants over there. After going off site the first night, we realized there were plenty of options in the village, so we stayed in the village for the rest of our trip.

The fact they have a ski valet and parking valet is a wonderful touch. It was so nice to come in from a day on the slopes and leave our stuff in their room with the valet. There he would clean our skis and dry our boots, and it was a wonderful touch, and we tipped generously for this service.

Again, we pay more just to stay here, but it's so worth it. By the time I pay for another hotel and load up everyone to drive to the resort, and pay for parking, we happy to sacrifice some other things in order to stay here. And if you search early enough, you'll find pretty decent rates for the upcoming year, and if you're an Epic member, you'll get a discount for staying here. All in all, five stars and we look forward to our trip out there this year!

This was a return trip to the Osprey for us. It certainly has one of the best locations in Beaver Creek with the Strawberry lift steps out the back door. We love skiing Beaver Creek and the location is the biggest draw. Other aspects of the space, not so much.

On the good side, the staff were great. Always helpful, friendly and outgoing. We always book our trip so the day we leave, we can ski in the morning before we depart and they are great about allowing us to load up the car and keep it in the garage after we have checked out while we ski one last time.

This trip we booked a Lodge King room. The room itself was fine, comfortable bed, plenty of space. Unfortunately, I didn't specify or request a non-adjoining room. Not always a problem but this time it was as the adjoining suite had a sick child who coughed and hacked away all night long. An annoyance but not the Osprey's fault. The biggest drawback to the suite was the bathroom area. One small towel bar and one hook outside the shower is completely inadequate. The only other hook was behind the door to the toilet stall. Management asks us to hang up our towels if we want to reuse them (in order to be environmentally friendly) and then provides NO space to do so.

The only drawback to the location, if your room is on the Strawberry Lift side of the hotel, is the lift can be rather noisy when it starts up in the morning. So I knock off 1 star for the poor layout of the bathroom. Otherwise it's a good place to stay.

The hotel's location is unparalleled, offering direct access to the Strawberry lift right from the ski-valet, and a convenient walk across the bridge to the Centennial lift and Beaver Creek Village.

While the hotel itself is satisfactory, the rooms are of a good size and maintained clean, albeit somewhat musty. The feature to Chromecast from personal devices to the room's TV was a nice amenity. The walls are thin, allowing sounds from neighboring rooms to seep through, and housekeeping services are only provided every other day.

The staff is welcoming and accommodating, yet the service does not meet the expectations for a four-star establishment. The breakfast options are limited to a cold buffet, including cereal, yogurt, and pastries, with inadequate staffing levels, often requiring guests to seek out the solitary staff member for essentials like napkins and coffee.

The hotel is very accommodating to families, which is a positive aspect, though it's worth noting that many of the amenities, especially the hot tub may be crowded with children.

Regarding the mention of a marijuana odor by other reviewers, we noticed it in the hallway on the first night but not during the subsequent nights of our stay.

Overall, I would cautiously recommend the hotel, provided you adjust your expectations accordingly and prioritize the convenient location. For those seeking more luxurious amenities and superior service, you may want to look elsewhere.

If you are a skier or boarder this really is THE PLACE to stay at Beaver Creek. I read through all the reviews before I booked, and they are accurate. Between the incredibly close proximity to the lifts (both Strawberry and Centennial), and to the village of Beaver Creek, this place has "location" nailed. In addition, the staff, all around, was truly the best I have experienced. I say this having traveled extensively for business for over 30 years so I am a tough critic. Everything really and truly exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved my room, which overlooked the slopes and the lift, and the next time I visit the Osprey I will definitely request the same room. Please note that I am an early riser. If one likes to sleep late then perhaps request a room on the side opposite the lift (although then you don't get to watch the skiers come down the slopes right outside your window - I loved doing that). I'd like to give a special call out to both of the ski valets - so incredible! So knowledgeable about the ski conditions every day with great recommendations on where to go to get the best snow. And just so helpful - every time I needed them they seemed to magically appear, ready to help. The perfect balance of service and discretion. Very hard to do. But every staff member at the Osprey while I was there really was incredible. It's clear to me that everyone who works there takes an incredible sense of pride and ownership in their work and in the hotel. Well done, all! I can't wait to come back!

We loved The Osprey and are already talking about our next ski trip. The location could not be more ski-in/ski-out. We literally walked out the back door and onto Strawberry lift without ever encountering a line. There were plenty of blue and green runs directly back to the back door of the hotel. Finally, walking out the front door led you directly into the main Beaver Creek town square. There was also a complementary hotel shuttle to take you anywhere on property or into Avon.

Outside of the amazing location, the hotel was fantastic. Service could not have been better and every employee was helpful and friendly. Even the continental breakfast was so much better than a standard continental with plenty of fresh fruit and made to order coffees. The seating areas were cozy and the bar was a great place to enjoy a relaxing apre ski cocktail,

I highly recommend The Osprey for anyone looking for a relaxing ski vacation in an amazing location.

The osprey was the perfect ski lodging for our Beaver Creek vacation. The staff was amazing, super up-beat, friendly and helpful. Valet provided shuttle service to restaurants in BC, and the ski valet gave great service and advice on favorite runs. Room was comfortable and pool and hot tub were nice. All in all, excellent service and value. Will return.

We had a wonderful stay at the Osprey. It was everything I hoped it would be. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and helpful. Directly across the street is Beaver Creek Village which we spent 2 hours walking around and shopping before check-in. Check-in was very prompt, even a little early. Although we did not visit the restaurant or bar, there were lots of nice dining options within 2-3 minute walk. For sushi or seafood, Hook was a great place to eat. The Beaver Creek Chophouse was exceptional, but you do need a reservation. Vail Mountain Coffee was close by, but not worth the price and late opening time. We got great coffee from the Osprey lobby (Starbucks)! I would highly recommend staying here for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Is there any laundry facilities on site?
Answer from Jonathan G
Hello Joy K, There is a laundry room with one washer and one dryer on our second floor. There is complimentary laundry detergent in the laundry room as well.
Answer from Lindsay S
Hi, We don't have a spa on site but our concierge does work with massage therapists that do come to your room. Our concierge's phone number is 970-754-7350, or you can call the front desk at 970-754-7400
Answer from Lindsay S
Hi HKmcewin, That time of year can be tricky, I've seen some years where we have had great snow then, and other years when not a lot at that time. The good thing is Beaver Creek has state of the art snowmaking equipment that gets a good base. If you want to guarantee good natural snow I would recommend February as a good month to come out. Vail is the closet resort to us with tubing, Keystone in Summit County is the other option by us. I hope that information helps!
Answer from Lindsay S
Dear Debbie B, Lodge next to a room is a type of room we have. All of our rooms are located in one building. Hope that helps!
