Each spring break from 2016 - 2022 we would stay at the Park Hyatt for our annual ski trip and it was amazing. Great location, super friendly staff, ski valet, and Beaver Creek has an amazing ski school to start our daughters when they were ages 4 and 6. The ice skating rink behind the hotel is where they first skated. We’re from Florida so go figure. Here’s the kicker: 2020 our trip was cancelled due to covid, and in 2021 we were thrilled to return to normal. The lobby during the prior years we visited 2016 - 2019 used to be so welcoming with worn in leather couches facing large windows to view the mountain, a real fireplace, and families would sit during and after skiing to enjoy apres. Immediately outside / slopeside each day at 4pm the hotel set up a bar and after skiing we would enjoy a glass of wine by the fire pit alongside a guitar player singing classic rock and country songs, with smores and watch the kids play in the snow. Later the evenings apres would turn into comfortable nights for many families who would instead of going outside to dinner, enjoy dining and drinks served at the couches. What a perfect family spot. Naturally the covid hiatus brought huge revenue losses to the hotel l, and they likely hired a consultant. Now gone is all of the comfort of the lobby. The rustic feel of worn in leather couches and apres facing large windows to the slopes are gone and replaced with a huge obnoxious bar taking up the entire space…to optimize the hotels revenues. I enjoy a cocktail / glass of wine as much as the next person, but prior to this there was a bar along the wall of the room + a staff taking drink orders to persons on the couches and it worked just fine… for many many years prior to this monstrosity. And the rustic wood fireplace is replaced with a faux fireplace that doesn’t fit in. With this said, they no longer open a bar outside and people for some reason don’t bring there drinks outside and the vibe is gone. Plus if you want smores you now need to go to the hotel desk and tell them your name and room # and they hand you a wooden stick / bag of marshmallows / etc. It works but I’ll tell you what worked better. The bar outside with parents enjoying the ambiance and spontaneously the kids grab a wooden stick adjacent to the fireplace and help themselves to marshmallows / chocolate / Graham crackers. Why the change? I guess some non hotel guests were hanging out sponging a few marshmallows and that was hurting the “bottom line”. Here’s the close: When we began visiting the Park Hyatt for spring break the nightly rate for a slopeside room was $700 + resort fees. Ok, next. We were fine all the way including 2022 when the rate went to $1,350 per night for a slopeside room + resort fee. Ok nextFor 2023 they wanted $1,850 per night + resort fees for a slopeside room. With this said, we said goodbye to the Park Hyatt, and as I write this we’re in Courchevel, France in the French Alps for our spring break ski trip. The flight to Geneva (2hrs from Courchevel) was half the price of the flight to Vail Eagle airport, and we’re staying at a 5 star hotel in Courchevel 1850, Rate is $1,000 per night. The mountain is aligned with Epic Pass and our prepaid 4 day pass works the same here. We love France and the atmosphere here is magnifique! au revoir Park Hyatt. Thank you for the great hospitality and memories.…
Perfect stay!! Beautiful resort with the best views, prime location and friendliest staff (seriously, everyone was very professional and went above/beyond to make sure that everyone was having a great vacation). The spa is gorgeous- highly recommend also. We will definitely stay here again.
You can't ask for a better setup than the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Drop your skis & boots with the valet and the next day pick them up and walk a few steps to the lift. It doesn't get any easier than that. The hotel staff is terrific---helpful, friendly, and always accommodating. The bar is lively and can be very busy from 3-6PM. This is a perfect hotel if you're looking for a great ski holiday.
Although the valet ski set up made it worth it.. the general hotel experience was sub-par. One day they only showed up at 2 to make the beds, at which point kids had already returned from skiing. Bathrooms looked tired and outdated. Main bar/lounge and great-room by fireplace was shut down by 9, and not only was the bar closed but one night they actually started vacuuming at 9:15 so we had to go back to our room.
This was our second stay at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek for the Christmas holiday. The hotel is gorgeous. Love the ski in / ski out convenience each day. Great bar and patio for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Right in the village for ice skating, food and shopping. We flew into Vail and got an Uber. No need for a car. Rooms are spacious. Complimentary humidifier is in room with Nespresso, Keurig and a tea kettle. Complimentary water provided. Robes. Slippers and turn down service.
This is just a really awesome place to stay. The location is PERFECT for ski in/out. Great bar, food, just love this place. Great workout facility with heated pool and hot tubs. Friendly staff and very efficient check in and out
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek provides customer service the way it used to be, the way it should be, and the way far too many other properties need to be. The staff was responsive to any questions and requests...very cordial and friendly.
Amazing location right on the slopes. Rooms on the 2nd floor near the bar are quite noisy. Often no one at the front desk and concierge not easy to find. Limited F&B and same menu in the bar/ restaurant/ room service from what I could see so you wouldn't want to eat there for multiple nights. Rooms a good size and have everything you need but a little tired in decor.
We had a great stay at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek for a week of skiing. The ski-in/ski-out experience would be hard to top. The staff went above and beyond to anticipate our needs, and made it easy for us to enjoy the mountain without having to experience many of the typical pains of skiing. I would love to return!
My family had a wonderful experience! The location is amazing. The staff was very friendly except for an unwelcoming bar waitress. Herb, the General Manager was amazing! Checking in before and during our stay to make sure our stay was going well was very much appreciated! Would definitely love to come visit again in the near future. Thanks for a great experience!
