Our experience is always enjoyable and the service is A+, including the climate controlled underground parking. The condo is always clean and stocked with utensils, appliances for every need. We enjoy the location even though we don't know which condo we will be staying in, with or without a view, the amenities are favorable. We especially enjoy the cuisines of the restaurants in the area, each having their own specialties. There is shopping in the area and surroundings towns for souvenirs, any type of clothing for all seasons and household items. The area also provides whatever sport you like from skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, kayaking, white water rafting and many more. Happy Travels!

Room 233A stunk so bad of cigarette smoke we could’t wait to leave. The bathroom reeked so bad it would overshadow anything you happened to do in there. The ceiling light between the beds looked like an oversized bird cage and hung so low that anybody over 5’10” would crash their head into it if they got up in the middle of the night. The toilet paper holder was dangling from the wall and there was not even a chair to sit in. One expects more from a resort property rented through Beaver Creek Resort Rentals. This was worse than a Motel 6. When I was at the front desk waiting to get a hair dryer, one angry guest was on the phone with the unit owner/management company about a problem with his unit. Another staff member was trying to find another guest’s reservation which had vanished from the reservation system. I felt sorry for the people who had travelled far to end up at this place, as well as the courteous front desk staff who had to deal with these problems.

This is not a 5 star resort, but a good deal for the price. The location is fantastic, walkable to main lifts and great restaurants so you never have to drive in snow. Our unit surprisingly included 2 parking spots in the garage, and even fit our F150 with few problems (most garages are a bit of an ordeal with a large truck). The pool and hot tub were also a pleasant treat after a long day skiing. The internet was adequate for both my husband and I to Zoom at the same time. Housekeeping only comes once a week, but was responsive when we needed something on a different day. I would stay here again.

about as close as you get to the hill and lifts without ski in/ski out. you can either walk out from the main elevator to the plaza level or walk down about 2 flights of stairs and walk back up when the day is done, Our room was booked thru Epic/Vail resorts. we had an owner unit which was further away from the lobby and our ski locker was lobby level. The unit was modern and updated and did not look like some of the old fuddy duddy pictures of bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms. our master bath, kitchen, en suite bedroom bath were plush. we were able to make a nice dinner in our kitchen. the parking garage (PB) was spacious and easy to use with our Suburban.

My wife and I reserved a 1 Bedroom Condo at St. James Place with Vail Resorts Reservations. To sum it up I really feel like we got SCAMMED by paying almost $8,000 for a 5 night stay in what turned out to be a horrible (I use that work kindly, would like to use more extreme explicit language to describe how bad this condo/location was!!) property! We were given a condo on their Plaza level, which essentially means you have ZERO view, doors open to the outside like a old road-side econo-lodge. We literally had 2 front windows where we saw the cul-de-sac where you check in, and a large truck parked sideways in front of our unit; probably because the truck was to large to fit in their parking garage. There was also 1 side window with a view of a staircase. To add insult to injury the decor/furnishings our unit had was completely deplorable! I'm assuming this property was developed in the late 80's/early 90's and our unit obviously has NEVER been updated. Without taking up so much time to describe how bad our unit was the main living room TV was a 24' computer monitor!! You can probably find these in many trash bins, or pay $30 at Best Buy for one. I did talk to Vail Resorts during our stay and told them that we should have at least been given notice that we could be "stuck" in this kind of unit. All they could do is agree and apologize. I also talked to one of the managers at St James Place after our stay and was told that there's no way to know what unit you will get as these are in a "rental-pool". So essentially you are gambling on whether you get a horribly located plaza unit that has never been renovated or one with a secured inside entrance, nice view, and newly remodeled. The Manager did agree with my comments and actually said that we could have been put in a worse unit...seriously?? Being a business owner i can't imagine telling a customer/client that just got scammed out of $8,000 that it could have been even worse!! If you book a stay here demand that you know exactly the unit you are getting and pictures, or DO NOT STAY HERE!! We have been going to all the top ski resorts in Colorado's High Country for 30 years and this was by far the worst accommodations we have ever stayed and the most costly!! I have added pictures to back up my comments. I could have added many more, but hopefully this is enough to show how bad this place is...DO NOT STAY HERE!!

We just spent eight nights at the St James. There were five of us (two adults / three kids) in Suite 329 (three bedrooms / three bath / full kitchen / den / dining area). The suite was large and was great for a large family. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and attentive and Laura at the concierge was a rock star (very knowledgeable and clearly loves her job). Best part about the St James is it’s location in the heart of the village. It took us five minutes to walk to the gondola and anywhere else. Since you can leave your skis/poles at the ski valet on the mountain, there is no “shlep factor” if you have kids. The outdoor jacuzzi was also a big plus. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is very well kept, large indoor pool area with hot tubs both inside and outside. Lovely lobby with coffee & hot chocolate. The room is very spacious with tons of drawers and 3 closets, enormous bathroom and sitting area with a beautiful view. The bedroom is up a flight of stairs, at the entrance there is plenty of space to change out of wet ski gear and leave it in the 2 closets. There is an elevator to the right that will bypass the stairs outside of the hotel to the village, the elevator to the left will lead to the parking garage, lockers, pool area and Lobby. It's a fairly short walk through the gorgeous village to an electric escalator that will leave you infront of Haymeadow? gondola. You could take that up and ski down to Centennial lift which will take you to all of the top lifts in that area of the mountain. There is a wonderful ski school to the right of the escalator, it's a nice place to learn how to ski because the trails are the widest I've ever seen, so there isn't any crowding. However the trails are somewhat steep, but not a problem when you learn to go side to side. At 3pm, Chefs in white show up with trays of fresh baked cookies and hand them out in the village and at the base of the lifts. I recommend having lunch in the village because it's so easy to get to and less crowded that the slope side restaurants. Also the menus are more diverse & the food much more delicious. Food will cost you a small fortune , We spent around $160 for lunch for 3 & $200+ for dinner with 2 entrees, 2 appetizers & 3 drinks. We loved Golden Eagle Inn restaurant for lunch & dinner, Hooked, the Met, and Black Diamond Bistro. Cayote cafe was ok for drinks. Didn't have any good guac in any of the restaurants we tried. The Ice rink is big and surrounded with sitting areas with fire pits, the place is just so cozy and inviting, they really pay attention to detail there and consumer comfort. The staff at St James are also lovely and accommodating . Highly recommend. There is a shuttle to Vail which takes 20 mins.

We enjoyed being in the Beaver Creek area, next to Avon. Also enjoyed our day trips to Vail and Leadville. Loved the large room, the bathtub and the king bed. We have already made plans to return to the area next fall.

First off, we were supposed to stay in a different building within Beaver Creek. Having been to the resort over 50 times, I'm a little particular as to where I like to be. When the owner of that unit decided to pull their unit from the rental pool, we were contacted by Beaver Creek reservations to either get refunded or select a different unit. The choices that BC gave us were not comparable in my opinion, but I went with St. James when it was evident it was our only choice that wasn't under construction or in Avon. To go with a different company was significantly more expensive as the vaccine was readily available at the time of the cancellation and vacation prices had skyrocketed versus when I initially booked the room in the winter. My dad owned a timeshare in St James for 30 years, and between winter and summer I have stayed there approx 40 times. Here is my take on St James and this experience in particular. Pros: Good location within the village. Easy walk to the mountain and dining. New outdoor hot tub is very nice Cons: The elevator is awful. You can easily wait 10 minutes to be able to get into it. This unit was on the residence side so it had a better elevator set up, but to get to the pool you had to go outside and then back in through the lobby. The air conditioning in the secondary bedroom leaked and the room smelled like mildew when it was on. I turned it off the first night and opened the window, but a group was having a party at the grills just below our room. Had to shut the windows again so the noise didn't bother the kids. Defeated the purpose of wanting air conditioning. The layout of the room was weird. I have two young children, and one bedroom was very far away from the master and second bedroom. Not usable for us as I didn't feel comfortable that I could hear them in the event of an emergency. Again, my biggest issue is lack of caring from Beaver Creek reservations. I emailed them about the issues in our room to no response. I already have my Epic Pass for this year, but I might need to move to Icon. I haven't dealt with a hospitality company (I use that term loosely) who cares so little about displacing their guests or about addressing their concerns.

Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear that your original reservation at a different property had been cancelled, but glad the St. James Place was available for your vacation. Your issue with the A/C has been reported to the maintenance team and they are looking into the unit. I apologize for your experience with the elevators. It is a very busy year and the amount of traffic in the property is quite exceptional causing more delays than usual. I'm happy you were able to enjoy the brand new hot tub and hopefully being in the village added to a great vacation in Beaver Creek.
