Riversong was a great house for relaxing on the deck, cooking fun meals together and fishing in the river right out back. The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Hiking and lake fishing was just a short car ride away. (Bring your own paper plates, cups and coffee filters)

My wife and I have been coming to Vallecito, and staying at Eagle's Nest for many years, sometimes twice a year. Doug and Connie are the best hosts you can ask for, and the cabins are, by far, the cleanest and nicest accommodations in the area. Years ago, we stayed at other places, but once we found Eagle's Nest, we... More

Doug and Connie are the best! After 2yrs of planning a family reunion our family went to Eagle's Nest. What a delight. We had 22 people, 7 were 5 and under, and one teenager. Our time was over the 4th of July and the fireworks at the lake were fabulous actually the best all of us have ever seen. The... More

When our family was thinking how best to celebrate my husband's and my 50 anniversary it was unanimous to return to Vallecito Lake to reclaim wonderful childhood memories. My parents had lived there for many years and we spent many vacations and reunions there. Doug and Connie graciously provided us with two cabins that faced each other. The properties were... More

We were looking for a place to stay on our trip to the Durango area and came across this hidden gem online. Doug and Connie were very helpful in working with us to book a cabin at Eagle's Nest, but nothing compares to the hospitality we received when we arrived! They made us feel like we were family-Connie even went... More

I have been visiting the Vallecito area since the 70's back when my grandparent's lived on the Florida river. 40 yrs later I have made the trip almost every summer, sometimes twice, as my personal get away. In years past I have been very loyal to another local business but as their nightly rates went up, their service declined. Eagles... More

I first visited Vallecito Lake with my family 45 years ago — in 1970 — when I was 14. I returned when I was 19. I knew then that I was hooked on this magical place. I grew up, got married, had two children and began bringing my own family to Vallecito Lake in 1998, which is when we met... More

My husband & I stayed in the beautiful, cozy Aerie cabin. It was our first visit and we extended our time there to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and to explore the nearby lake and mountains. Our hosts, Doug and Connie, were extremely helpful and very friendly. The cabins are very well-furnished, super clean, and ready for visitors the minute you... More

My family and I stayed in the Aerie cabin at Eagles' Nest and could not be more pleased with our visit! Doug and Connie were so sweet and the cabin was beautiful with all the comforts of home and more! We cannot recommend this place high enough. The scenery, hiking, shopping, tours, etc., were everything we'd hoped for. If you're... More
