If you are looking for a quiet location in the mountains, look no further than Bailey Lodge. My husband, daughter and I stayed on Aug 19th for 1 night. We arrived later in the evening. Our room was well-lit, easy to find, and had a homey feeling. The location itself is just off the highway but once the door to the room is closed, no noise can be heard. The lodge itself is inviting and we loved the hanging flower pots and hummingbird feeders. I awoke earlier than the others and enjoyed a cup of coffee right outside our door on the benches and chairs provided. A stocked pond is on location and offers seating in different locations. Another huge perk for all of us was the tree swing. No matter your age, this tree wing can transport you back in time. We left the lodge well rested, relaxed, and ready for a new day. I highly recommend this location and encourage anyone looking for a relaxing mountain retreat to give Bailey Lodge a try. You will not be disappointed.…
We stayed two (2) nights at Bailey Lodge in Bailey, CO. First impression was that it was an older lodge, and had not been recently updated for at least 10 or 20 years due to the outdated-looking linens, dirty carpeting, and the "landlord special" type paint jobs and caulking. The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The welcome sheets were very cleverly written (by Misty we found out) and were a nice bonus. The beds were a bit stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. We did move the couch in the room closer to the fireplace (I guess this is unheard of by the owner from their reply, I mean who'd think people could want to sit and be comfortable in front of the fire), as we bought some duraflame logs to use in the fire (we were given 1 (not two as the owner has assumed as they always "can't find" any (depends who you ask, Scott said they had none but then when the lady who cleans the rooms heard we wanted one she was somehow able to make one appear out of thin air*), and when we did move the couch we found they do not clean behind/under it, as we found someone's vape pen, and a hair pick. The owner's reply says it is "too difficult" to move the couch and clean in it after every guest's stay, which I find disturbing. This means that any dandruff, trash, or fluids they leave behind are just sitting there on the couch waiting for the next guess. Gross. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. However, the faucet of the sink broke off once during use, and caused quite the mess. We were able to fix it and clean the water up and it was fine afterwards, it just needed to be screwed down properly. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out. *Edit: We're so sorry it was a big deal for the owner to have to wake up and get in the shower to come fix the heater that was supposed to have been working properly in the first place so we had a warm room to come back to when we were finished with work. Edit: Changed to 1/5 stars due to owner's response. They basically called us liars. Not the way to approach customer service. Instead of getting defensive maybe try to apologize for the issues we had, and ensure it doesn't happen to customers in the future. And yes, we did call them over and over again starting at 6am, as that is when we had to wake up and shower because we had to be at work by 7am, and our room was in the high 40s. Who'd have thought that when you get out of the shower you'd like to be warm, apparently a crazy concept for the lodge. I've also attached a screenshot of their "summer weather" during our stay. I'm sure most people won't find a 46 degree low anywhere near "tropic." Now when I come back to Bailey for business we will never return to the lodge. Good riddance. I've attached a copy of the owner's reply to my review on google so you can see their "customer service" for yourself.…
Held our family reunion here. Very clean and service was outstanding. Scott and Misty are rock stars. Our theme was Christmas with Sasquatch, Misty even wore a Sasquatch costume, took pictures with us, and delivered gifts for our Xmas in July. They did everything within there power to make our stay great. Can’t recommend The Bailey Lodge enough, you won’t be disappointed. P.S. the fishing is great!!!
My husband and I stayed for a long weekend in the Granite Suite and were impressed! Very clean, well appointed, and felt like home. If you are looking for a relaxing, chill out friendly place we definitely recommend. The hummingbirds are a bonus. I could watch them all day on the wonderful porch. We are trying to figure out another trip to Bailey because of the great time we had last weekend.
We planned to camp but about 10 inches of snow from a late May snowstorm convinced us to stay at the Bailey Lodge instead and what a wonderful stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and ready upon our arrival. The room was quiet and we slept soundly on comfortable beds. A great location for checking out Bailey, CO and surrounding area.
We stayed here overnight on a trip out West following a pilgrimage to nearby Glen-Isle, where my father had worked as a teenager. We were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality (free upgrade, key in the room, heat on) and the rooms were sparkling clean as well as beautifully appointed. Our son wanted to move in! A hidden treasure in the mountains! Nearby hiking trails and the little kitchenette would make it a great destination vacation!!
Driving from Ouray to Denver, this was a great place to stop pre-Big City. The room's heat and lights were turned on before I arrived - such a nice change from having to walk into a cold & dark room. Lovely stained glass lamp at the window. Key & receipt were in room, for Covid precautions, and the freezer outside the office door had trays of ice cubes with fitted lids (have to get some of those!), so I was all set. Burned a Duraflame log in the fireplace, as they now require, and enjoyed the comfy sofa with the firelight. Large CLEAN room with everything you need, even a roll of paper towels. Also had a box fan for warmer weather, which I used for "white noise" while sleeping. One suggestion: a clock would be useful, there was not one in my room. I'll definitely stay here again!…
What a great place to stay!!! The key was waiting for us in the room, The room was very clean and well equipped. Loved the fireplace and made good use of it for the cold November nights. Place was very quiet which is important given that highway 285 is close by. Definitely will go back next time we visit our kids in Bailey
First visit to Bailey and stayed at lodge based on reviews and lodge website. Pros: Great hospitality…Scott,Misty and Michelle were great hosts. If you stay longer than a day you will leave feeling like family. Rooms very comfortable, well appointed and CLEAN. Enjoyed pool and bbq pavilion. Cons: Was not prepared for road noise. Pics did not reflect how close busy highway was to lodge. Also, be aware that if you stay on lower floor, you WILL hear people walking above you.
We were attending an event in the Divide, Co. Area when it was moved to Bailey. We had already rented a cabin for a week in Divide but knew we would not want to drive the 90 minutes back after the event at night. With only 2 weeks to go I started looking for a place to stay that evening and everyone was sold out. The Bailey Lodge could not have been friendlier and had a room next to the office available. She warned us it might be noisy with the phone ringing and people coming and going…boy was this place even better than we thought, based on photos of the Lodge. Yes, the exterior is rustic but the room was modern, large, and very clean. Fireplace, stove, full size refrigerator, etc. All we needed was a bed and a bathroom. There is a fan in the room and any noise was blocked out. We enjoyed our short stay so much we talked about coming back to the area sometime in the future. To show you how friendly they are - there was no sugar in the room for my husband’s coffee so the manager went to her own apartment and loaned us hers. What a treasure.…
