Award winning Harkey House Bed and Breakfast is an elegant historical 1874 Victorian inn and the original home of Sheriff William Harkey, of Sutter County. It is located near a the Sutter Buttes, Gauche Aquatic Park, Feather River, restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. There are 3 rooms and a cottage with private entrance. Marble fireplaces and all queen beds, private baths, WIFI, private outdoor spa, high count linens, TV,CD, and plush robes. Relax on the patio or in the privacy of your room. The cottage is pet friendly. Enjoy a full gourmet breakfast prepared with fresh fruit from our local Farmer's Market. Dishes are prepared with those with special food needs and served in the French Country dining room or poolside on the patio. Special Romance packages with silk rose petals on the bed, chocolates and champagne are available for purchase. "Voted the Best B and B" for five years.
Lee and Bob are excellent hosts at the Harkey House.
We were in the area for our grandson to attend a beginning falconry class at the West Coast Falconry center. Because we had to leave at 7:30 AM for the class, Lee made us tasty “to go” breakfasts. Nevertheless, she got up early to serve us coffee and orange juice as we ate in the beautiful garden by the pool.
Our grandson kept saying how “lovely “ everything was at the inn. He appreciated the historical house and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool. He was very impressed by the array of stars projected on the ceiling of the Empress room.
We enjoyed the stay and the chance to meet our very kind hosts.

For decades, Lee and Bob Jones have poured love and care into their bed and breakfast, and it absolutely shows! From the moment you arrive until departure, you are welcomed with the utmost in amenities and hospitality! The bedding is some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, deliciously soft. The cottage is extremely well-appointed with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. Lee and Bob will suggest many activities in the area for you to enjoy, both indoors as well as outdoors. The backyard courtyard with pool and hot tub is a perfect spot to either start your day (with breakfast served al fresco if desired) or end your day with a glass of wine. You will be surrounded by the lovely landscaping, hummingbirds flitting about, and fresh air to relax in. If you have an early AM activity, they always prepare a breakfast to go. If you have the time to enjoy one of Bob's delicious breakfasts, do! So well prepared and lovingly presented. You will not be disappointed staying at the Harkey House!

This is by far the best BnB at which we've ever stayed. Comfortable, great breakfast which is gourmet and way above what you'd expect, very friendly, intelligent, culturally perceptive and interesting hosts. The house is a historic structure and filled with lots of wonderful things to see and books to peruse.

Harkey House is a beautiful, historic gem of an inn with period details in every room. My room was beautiful and comfortable. Over breakfast the following morning, I met fellow birders who were in the area for the same field trip. The hosts shared their experiences and enthusiasm, and all-around kind and welcoming. Highly recommended!

The Harkey House is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The house is a wonderful old beauty filled with interesting pieces old and new. The place is spotless and well-appointed, breakfasts are generous and delicious. Lee and Bob are relaxed, great to chat with, and have created a little oasis. ‘Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful, clean and comfortable cottage close to downtown Yuba City. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the cottage and thoughtfulness of the hosts. What a wonderful weekend getaway we enjoyed at the Harkey House. You feel welcomed and at home the moment you walk through the door. Beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, this B&B is a place of sheer relaxation and pampering. The hosts, Bob and Lee, are incredible people who definetly have found their calling as proprietors of this awesome retreat. We loved the Tuscany Room, the bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. So many lovely and whimsical touches to see and enjoy throughout the house as well. Loved the comfy robes provided, too. Breakfast is a delightful experience! Wonderful vegetable frittata, fresh fruit and Bob's special French toast is perfect with a glass of champagne! It was very nice to enjoy conversation over breakfast getting to know our lovely hosts. Really look forward to a return trip to Harkey House. Highly recommend this delightful B&B.

My wife decided to make an extended visit as part of our plan to see Coldplay at a nearby amphitheater. We were completely pleased with our stay at Harkey House. Bob and Lee were completely accomodating hosts, the home is gorgeous; filled with antiques, books on local history and very comfortable rooms. The pool area is quite an oasis with a hammock, lots of little seating areas to relax by the pool in the morning or afternoon. Breakfasts were well prepared and served with great attention.
If you are going to be staying anywhere in the area and don't want to stay in the "typical motel" the Harkey House is about the only game in town...luckily it is a wonderful choice.

This beautiful home is one of Yuba City's oldest. We stayed in the cottage, not in the main home and did not get a tour, so cannot comment on it although it appears to be incredibly beautiful. The cottage is quite quaint and self contained. It is located in the back yard with a large patio and pool literally steps from the door. Very private location. Breakfast was pre-prepared and although lite, quite tasty.

We usually serve breakfast at 8:30am on the patio but you indicated that you wanted to get on the road early to drive home to Oregan so offered the self serve breakfast in the cottage.
