Let me start by saying that I stayed at Hotel Yountville last year (Aug 2019) and am fairly certain I wrote a detailed review of my experience soon after. Not sure what happened to that one but posting again to make sure my voice is heard. I'll do my best to summarize the main points: Pros: Nice pool Exceptionally friendly staff Convenient location Cons: While nice, the rooms themselves do not command the price point they charge Inflexible policies and poor hotel management Summary: I booked a 1 night stay for my girlfriend's birthday last year. To make the experience even more special, I called ahead of time to inquire about check-in; dining, etc to make sure things were perfect. All seemed to be good. When my gf and I arrived to check-in I found out that I had actually booked the weekend before my girlfriend's birthday....not her actual birthday (doh!). The young lady at the check-in counter assured me that everything was going to be OK and directed us to the pool to lounge and relax while our room was being prepared. We returned to the desk after 3-4 hours and were told that even though I had paid for the room through a 3rd party website, I would have to book and pay for another room because "there was nothing they could do." When I asked about why this wasn't brought up when I literally called to confirm my stay ahead of my arrival, the manager gave me the runaround and used the excuse, "my hands are tied" because I didn't book with the hotel directly. By that time, it was too late to book at another property and I didn't want to ruin my girlfriend's birthday. Quite a bummer. Needless to say that after paying what essentially added up to $1,600 for one hotel room for one night, I'd expect anyone to have high expectations for the room and service. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in a number of ways: 1. At a 10,000 ft view, the property and rooms are nice. But if you zoom in closer you'll find many flaws including chipped paint, stained carpets and furniture, and other undesirable blemishes. 2. Food - room service wasn't quite up to par. I was charged incorrectly for a couple of items so be sure to check your itemized bill carefully. Also, I had some simple (albeit, specific) questions about some things on the menu and the staff's ability to answer them left me completely underwhelmed. 3. Poor customer service - in addition to the inflexibility on the reservation snafu mentioned earlier, I was surprised to find that the hotel charged me to mail my electric toothbrush that I had forgotten in the room (I promise, I'm usually not this irresponsible.....it was a stressful week!). I live in the Bay Area so it couldn't have cost more than $10 to ship the damn toothbrush back. The nickel and dime mentality for a supposedly 4 star hotel is not a good look at all. One of the unexpected things that the hotel did was to provide some chocolates and champagne to make my gf's day special. That was appreciated. But honestly, I've received that same level of service from hotels that were a quarter of the price than what Hotel Yountville charges. Overall, the experience at HY left such a bad taste in my mouth that they will no longer be part of my consideration set when I travel to wine country for weekend getaways or other special occasions.

My husband and I chose Hotel Yountville for our 10th anniversary trip to Napa. We are so happy we did! We got there early, and were greeted with friendly staff upon entering the cozy lobby. Our rooms weren’t ready but we were given only less than an hour wait so we hopped over for a quick winery tasting. To our surprise we were given a nice upgrade by the front desk. The room was incredible, the bed and linens were so comfortable! We had a lovely shower and spa tub in our room for us to enjoy. We were able to book spa appointments for a couples retreat that was so relaxing. The service from the spa staff was top notch. After the spa the weather was so nice that we enjoyed some champagne by the pool to relax. Do not miss out on breakfast at heritage oak. The French toast was amazing, rich and indulgent. Yountville is a good location to be. You are very close to Stag’s leap region, and an easy hop on to the highway to St. Helena and Calistoga. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel, you will not regret it!

We stayed at this lovely hotel for new year's eve and wish we could have spent a week there! We've spent some time in Yountville over the years and have stayed at various other hotels in the area and I have to say this is hands down my favorite spot in Yountville. The rooms are so spacious and clean and very cozy with fireplaces. They have a beautiful outdoor/pool area and overall the hotel felt very intimate and was very peaceful. We can't wait to come back again soon.

We just enjoyed a four night stay, for I think the 5th time over the past couple years. We love Yountville - it’s centrally located to the wineries we enjoy, you can walk to restaurants and tasting rooms, and this property is just lovely. Our premium king room was perfect. We love being able to park literally right outside the door to our room. The fireplace was lovely on the cool nights and the big bathroom was well stocked with thick towels and great bath products. Twice daily housekeeping is a nice touch. Most of the time Kollar chocolates were waiting on our pillows at night - except the last two nights and we aren’t sure what happened then? We missed them - Kollar is a superb chocolatier. We opted for the ‘Rise and Shine’ package, which includes breakfast at their Hopper Creek Kitchen. We typically aren’t breakfast people, but here is where a person becomes a breakfast person. Organic eggs, locally sourced ingredients, beautiful presentation and excellent service are staples there. It’s worth it to try if even one time. The hotel has relationships with several wineries and tasting rooms and is happy to assist with reservations and appointments. We really like staying at this hotel and will be back.

Since the moment you check in you can tell that this hotel is highly oriented customer service. Specially supervisor/Manager Lucian. She made sure our stay was espectacular. The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant you shout definitely try breakfast, poached eggs are out of this world. We will definitely come back again.
