Customer Service levels were high throughout the stay, from a room upgrade to wine pours, providing local information and recommendations, and going above and beyond to accommodate given restaurant closures and inclement weather....all much appreciated. The cleaning staff was also friendly and did a nice job keeping room and grounds very clean. It's a small, friendly team: (Rafael, Larry and Celina) did a very nice job making our holiday and stay memorable. The hotel is intimate and there's a welcoming lobby with fire place, heat lamps outside as well as an outdoor fireplace and the hot tub and pool area are nice. The tubs in the bathrooms are deep and the bath salts provided are wonderful. However, the pool wasn't heated (under repair) and the gym room is small so not safe for more than 1-2 folks from same household. The daily resort fee ($35) didn't change though which was unfortunate given limited options. It's a dog-friendly place ($150/dog) which clinches 5 stars overall.

Hotel's Favorite
This is the second time we have stayed at the North Block, the last being around 8 years ago. We were SO IMPRESSED with this hotel. I remember liking the hotel 8 years ago - good sized rooms, nice decor and amenities, great location for getting all over the valley. This time I was still impressed with all of that but I was blown away by the service. This is a small hotel - more of a boutique. It is set up with all the rooms facing the outside center courtyard. But from the minute you call them to check in to doing anything, every single employee is so polite and helpful that it is amazing. Everyone bent over backward to do anything you needed. Everyone greeted you. Everyone could tell you where anything was and then would volunteer to get it for you. I'm picky about service and was truly blown away. Probably one of my top 5 hotel experiences and I have traveled to luxury hotels all over this country. In addition to the awesome service and staff, the rooms are nicely done with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms are very high end - this time of year was colder and they even have heated floors. My stay there included breakfast in the Redd Wood restaurant which was phenomenal - wonderful pastries from Boudin bakery down the street, coffee, juice, cooked bacon and quiche at crispy potatoes. Wonderful fruit. Really good. The location is awesome with easy access right off of 29. The staff volunteered restaurant recommendations and even offered to book our winery visits. They have a pool which was heated at this time of year. I saw some people go swimming on a morning where it was 50 degrees outside so it must have been warm enough. I used the exercise room daily which was good sized for the size of the hotel and nicely stocked with water and of course multiple coffee options for free in the lobby in the morning. They also offer wine in the lobby in the evening, and there are multiple places to sit around in the courtyard at night which an outdoor fireplace which they lit for us on a chilly evening. Oh and parking is super easy along the side of the hotel and free. I really can't say enough about this hotel. We travel to Napa every other year or so, and this will definitely be my place to stay!

We stayed here the day before Christmas, and had a fabulous experience. The hotel is in a great location, the property is beautiful and really well maintained. The rooms are very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is particularly enjoyable with a great bath tub and a separate shower cabin. Having an espresso maker in the room was super convenient. Due to the Covid situation, we decided to have dinner at the property and that turned out to be an excellent decision. The dinner was ordered from a restaurant (Farmstead ) and delivered to the front desk. The hotel staff set up the dinner tables for us with the heaters (we were together with friends and we both have kids). The whole setting was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed the dinner as we would in a great restaurant, perhaps even more as the setting was in a way more private. There are many good things about this hotel, but the best one is the service and the staff the hotel has. Larry, Carter, Rafael and Celina are just tremendous! They are super helpful, always listen and communicate exceptionally well. We called the hotel prior to visiting and received very clear and very useful information. They were extremely helpful and kind once we arrived at the property. Easily five star for the service here. It is actually some of the best service we experienced in the United States (we used to travel quite frequently before Covid). The only comparison I can think of is the service in hotels in Japan. Those of you reading this who have been to Japan know that this is possibly the highest compliment that can be given.

I loved this hotel since my first visit a few years back and love it even more now. Such a lovely boutique hotel in downtown Yountville. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated, the grounds are gorgeous and the staff is exceptional. They go over and beyond in every way and exceed even the highest of expectations. Very gracious in upgrading both myself and my friends...making sure not that only every need was taken care of but every want. Carter, Larry and Raphael and everyone, thank you so much. Happy Holidays. Stay safe and well. Can't wait to visit again!

My husband and I wanted to visit Napa, specifically Yountville, to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had heard good things about the North Block Hotel and our experience far exceeded any of our expectations. Every detail was fabulous. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional care and kindness: greeted with a glass of white wine, champagne delivered to our room in honor of my milestone birthday, dinner set up and delivered outside by a heater (this was during COVID), and my praises could go on and on. The staff members with whom we interacted were warm and knowledgeable, offering us sincere advise about wineries and local restaurants. The room itself was elegant and chic, creating the perfect place to celebrate and rejuvenate. Thank you for making our trip fabulous and memorable. We will be back!
