They are building 2 more rooms that why they have 30% discount this season. The construction activity is not so loudy or anoying. Great location in front of the beach, nice place to swim in the lake and very close to Ojo de Agua.
Just got back from 3 nights at Xalli. Beautiful and convenient location (gorgeous swimming beach & grounds, walking distance to number or restaurants/bars), AMAZINGLY good customer service (every employee of the hotel is impeccably polite, helpful, smart, thoughtful), very well-maintained rooms with super comfortable beds....More
I had heard about Xalli from other friends who had stayed there and it certainly lived up to the hype. Though it's a bit further south from the main strip of hotels/hostels on Santo Domingo Beach, it's actually nice to be away from the clutter...More
My boyfriend and I stayed here recently upon a recommendation from a friend who had stayed at Xalli. Were we ever glad we took her advice! It was on the pricier side by Nicaraguan standards for sure, but SO worth the money, and still quite...More
Our family loved this hotel! The rooms are very nice and the staff exceptional! Each one introduced themselves and learned our names as well. Carlos arranged tours and taxis for us and the breakfast was great! Added bonus, our favorite mojitos in Nica!

Once you're in the Island and take the bus to Santo Domingo you don't need to worry because the bus will pass very near by the hotel. You can ask the bus driver to let you when you're near the hotel.

San Jose to Xalli with a taxi arranged by the hotel this summer was $15 USD. Mayagalpa was $20 USD. Breakfast was big and included, but I don't really remember their other meal prices--probably other cheaper places, but we never bothered to explore. Heard rumors of another spot about a 10 minute walk left up the beach. Their menu link doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Again, we took an arranged tour which probably isn't the cheapest transportation but we're old, and we enjoyed. I think they will rent you bicycles cheap, and I know they will call you a cab. They're just remote from the basic cities on the island, and there didn't seem to be any bus system. Dirt roads, so most "taxis" were 4-wheel drive SUVs. You can probably guestimate to places based on the rates I quoted above to the ports. If you've already decided to stay there (or maybe even if not) you might ask them directly on island prices; they were friendly enough, responsive to emails and wrote/spoke English well. They made our taxi and boat arrangements for us all the way from Granada and then from Xalli to Managua so they can handle anything. So, like I said, try emailing them directly.
