Hotel Winters garners high praise for its exceptional service, with staff members who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The hotel's cleanliness and central location are also highly regarded, making it a convenient base for downtown exploration.
While guests adore the hotel's inviting atmosphere and tasteful decor, opinions on value are divided; some feel the amenities justify the cost, but others are less convinced. The rooms impress with their cleanliness and modern touches, although a few guests have flagged minor issues.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is pretty new and I loved how it was completely non-smoking. We stayed in a room with a king-size bed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom shower was huge with a rainfall showerhead and also a handheld showerhead. This room had everything in it you could possibly need and it was very clean. The staff that we did come in contact with were all very nice and had great customer service. Please know that they are severely lacking in parking though. So, if you do not arrive during the day, you will most likely have to park in the street. Also, the one restaurant they have opens very late in the day so if you don't choose room service, you will have to walk somewhere to get food which can be quite expensive. Overall, for the price we paid, this hotel is well worth it. I definitely would recommend it for the staff, cleanliness and the beautiful rooms.

Hello!. Within coming to this place, i had called to ask about them. The man who answered was very polite. When arrived i was greeted by a very nice girl who welcomed me and asked if i needed assistance.
After checking in-to the room it was BEAUTIFUL. To have a full high rise ceiling made it very different with the space and echo, but was very wonderful to my wife and I. Going down to the restaurant attached we had the most amazing customer service ever. We walked up and got our drinks right away, as well as engaging with/about the area here.
We saw how much they maintained the safety/wellness of others with cleaning areas and reminding people of masks.
TO ANYONE who has given bad reviews about this place, is a impartial child and should be ashamed, it was very well maintained and professional. I very highly suggest here!

This is such an excellent addition to Winters! The hotel is beautiful inside, with a very spacious lobby, and a lovely courtyard. All of the staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was very spacious, though the air-conditioning did make quite a bit of noise at night. The bathroom was well equipped with a very enjoyable shower. The rooftop bar was a delight as well. This location is so easily walkable to many restaurants and shops, including Putah Creek Cafe, Buckhorn Steakhouse, and The Preserve. I really hope this Hotel continues to do well! I would absolutely stay there again.

I don't usually write reviews but the people gotta know! I'll list out my reasons and feel free to read on for details if you'd like.
1. Very hard to get rides to Napa or Airport from here. Not communicated, no shuttle provided.
2. Hidden $250 room cleaning fee
3. Poor streaming service that breaks a lot, known problem that hasn't been fixed.
4. Have to call for house keeping to make bed and provide fresh towels.
5. Carbini's (the joint restaurant) had poor service and charged my group and I twice for the same meal.
6. No fresh water in room.
Hotel Winters was a very disappointing stay for my girlfriend and I. We went for one of our friends weddings and at first were impressed with the hotel by all appearances.. until we had been there for about an hour and realized what we'd gotten ourselves into.
Immediately the streaming service, RoomCast, had issues connecting. We asked for help on this and the engineer, who came up after the 3rd call 1hr later, told us that they have issues with it all the time. Okay, then Hotel Winters needs to get a new service. They charge way too much for problems like that. Then, we only had a few towels, no bottled water, and were told we'd have to ask for housekeeping if we wanted them to clean up the room.. you know, make the bed and provide fresh towels??
Then the Carbini's restaurant service was terrible, oh and you have to call them if you want water brought to the room, and they double charged our group! Put a charge to my room and someone's card for the same meal.
Then at the end we got charged a 'hidden' or in some very fine print somewhere.. a $250 cleaning fee for basic service of making the bed and providing fresh towels!
But the worst is that you can't get a ride out of there to save your life. You need to schedule a car for pickup, don't try uber or lyft day of, they'll upcharge you around $200! This is not communicated at all by the hotel and they don't even provide a shuttle to the airport!
Avoid staying here if you can.

Hi connorpmckenna93, Thank you for choosing Hotel Winters and taking the time to share your feedback with us! Please accept my apology we did not meet your expecations during your stay. I have looked into our streaming service to ensure it is working properly. We also provide several towels for our guest and again apologize if we did not provide enough for you. You are correct we do not provide bottled water due to us being a sustainable and green property. Our guest love our water filtration system that we have on both floors in the hallway. We do not have a hidden fee, perhaps it was the incidentals hold on your credit card we give back if you dod not use them for room service or other room charges. Again, I apologize if we did not meet your expectations and hope you will visit us again.

Having been and participated in many destination weddings, and being in the hospitality industry myself, I can say without doubt that the hotel provided one of the WORST wedding experiences I have participated in. From the start, the hotel seemed understaffed. There were no bell hops or porters to help you with your luggage. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed at first glance. Now on to the bigger issues I experienced. On the first night (welcome party and dinner) the hotel ran out of food, and not for just a small number of guest. There were more than 10 of us who went without dinner. Not to mention I was the bride’s brother. Staff told us to wait for pizza and snacks because they didn’t have any more food for the main courses. The wedding party paid per head…I was forced a long with many others to either forgo the meal or head to the hotel’s in house restaurant which is what my date and I and some of the others did. By the time we were back to the main ballroom pizzas were gone. It seemed that the pies and desert had been served but once again there was nothing left for us. One of the staff then brought out two boxes which had cakes in them and said this is what’s left. To our surprise, they were the wedding cakes! It’s a good thing we did not eat them at the welcome party because the following day the bride and groom wouldn’t have anything to cut or take photos with for the ceremonial cake cutting. I find it unbelievable that the staff was so directionless that we almost ate the wedding cake the day before the wedding! There were also some issues at brunch. Once again service was poor and they ran out of breakfast eggs. Even more disturbing is that some of the cream from the coffee was spoiled and curdling and was served with the coffee. YUCK! Can you imagine drinking coffee finding it a bit off then realizing that the cream that was used was spoiled?! Upon checkout which the hotel mandated timing right in the middle of breakfast service, our keys were automatically wiped. When we went back upstairs to grab our luggage we were all locked out. Not just myself but everyone else trying to make an exodus from breakfast. Imagine lines of customers all trying to rekey their rooms at the one front desk at the same time. It was utter chaos in the lobby. If you are visiting winters California you might be better off staying in a farm barn. There’s essentially no difference between a farm and hotel winters with the exception that you would be saving a lot of $$$

- [ ] The services were understandably lacking considering being understaffed. I hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner & paid for 4 hotel rooms for 2 nights resulting in spending a large amount of money. There was no housekeeping services available for stay overs, which was not an issue, since I had the "do not disturb " sign on the door for our entire stay. When I checked out I requested a printed invoice for all 4 rooms. There was a 500.00 smoke damage charge on my room. We do not smoke & no housekeeping services had been in our room. Ultimately the manager & housekeeping executive determined that it was the prior guests & the charge would be reversed. When I checked my American Express online account, it hadn't been initiated 2 days later. In addition each room had an additional 200.00 charge over & above the group rate. I disputed these charges with AE, & was told by representative that there was also an additional charge of 300.00 on the day of checkout. They couldn't determine the reason. I emailed the manager & housekeeping manager regarding these inappropriate charges. When the manager called back she stated that the additional charges were for incidental charges, but we're actually in the event of room damages. I never have heard of this policy in the hundreds of hotels I have stayed in all over the world. I am now in the process of disputing over 1100.00. I requested the name of the owner of the hotel & was told that it was unknown & this was a third party management company. This was a huge disappointment with frustrating incompetence . I will continue to partner with my c/c company & not be taken advantage of. This is a "high end" hotel with no competition as there are no other hotels nearby.

Hi SusyB331, Thank you for choosing to stay at Hotel Winters and taking the time to share your feedback with us! I would like to express my appreciation to you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are most concerned with the satisfaction of all of our guests and feedback such as you have provided is of great value to us. This allows us to insure and improve the quality of service we offer future guests, and it is my sincere hope that you will be among them. While I appreciate your taking the time to provide such a detailed account of your experience, I am very sorry that it was necessary for you to do so. I do hope you will accept my apologies for your justified disappointment in our services. Incidental hold charges are a standard practice in the Hotel industry which take 5-7 days to be returned dependent on your bank or credit card company. If there were other charges that were not your charges, rest assured I will personally look into this to ensure it does not happen to any future guest. Please feel free to reach out to me personally with any remaining concerns.

This is a new, beautiful hotel! They have beautiful decor and attention to detail. Two challenges we faced: we were only given 2 bath towels for our family of four. The kids got to the shower first and didn't let us know they used the only towels before we got in the shower - I'm sure the guest services would have been immediately attentive to us if we had known ahead of time ;). We ate at the restaurant - 2 kids' pizzas and one margherita pizza which were nothing special, and tortelloni, which was very good, but the portion was small and pricey. I ate some of the kids' pizza. They liked the pizza ok, I didn't care for it. The only reason I marked this as 4/5 and the Service as 4/5 is because we were left waiting quite awhile for our water and later for the check while in the restaurant, and we were the only guests there at the time.
I gave value an "excellent" mark because I was able to take advantage of a discount for medical professionals. I don't have much experience staying in fancy hotels, so can't really compare the regular price to anything.

The hits are; It a spacious hotel with large rooms and common spaces. The bathrooms are large and clean, and the beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows to choose from. The quality of the food at the hotel restaurant Carboni's, is excellent. It's fresh and tasty to boot. I highly recommend the Cesar Salad which was simply delightful! The pizzas and burgers are exceptional too. You are within walking distance to the Notable Buckhorn restaurant as well as other high quality options. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are fairly quiet, so there is none of that annoying slamming of doors out in the hallways while you are trying to rest. The key cards work every time. Now the misses; You can't just drive up to the front Portico and check in as there is no front portico or even a parking space at the front door. The front door is on the street. You can park down the street a bit or in the parking lot in the very back of the hotel and then lug your bags (we never saw any luggage carts anywhere during our stay) around the building to the front desk to check in, it's a long walk and doesn't make for a very good first impression. The bathroom although spacious and clean has one of those rain shower heads as well as a handheld adjustable shower head which is nice, but the water flow is so low it's not like it's raining on you, but more like a light drizzle. The handheld unit is no better, the pressure is so low, it's kind of like having an old man peeing down your back. The hotel is long making use of the city block it is sitting on, so there is a lot of walking from one end to the other. The rooftop bar, although a great idea has very little atmosphere. It's kind of like you are just on top of the hotel roof viewing all the mechanical hardware, pipes and ducts etc. while having your drink. I suppose after a few, you don't notice those things anymore. The hotel courtyard is spacious with a large water feature and pool. The pool is not for swimming though, it's like a small rectangular pond, but the water cascading down into it, it pleasant sounding. Unfortunately, while seated in the courtyard you have to look at the power poles, transformers and wiring running the length of the hotel in the alley out back. You have to go get your drinks yourself at the hotel restaurant. There were no servers out in the courtyard while we were there, kinda odd indeed. Would we stay there again, I think so.

Great experience with staff. It's got potential and I think the staff are working towards that vision. You notice that it's a new hotel, decorated with local art, has wide halls, and eco-conscious with water bottle stations to refill your stuff. They also have a fast elevator. There's a few little quirks here and there, but you learn how to get around. For example, the hotel style door locks, which elevator goes to the roof, where to exit, hot/cold water for the shower, etc. There's a cool light behind the mirror. I took a second and paused while I wished my bathroom mirror looked like this. They are pet friendly too. If you are open to a staff who is growing, learning, friendly, and who work hard, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a 5 start diamond resort type of stay, you can pay for that and go elsewhere for that service. Hotel Winters is an above average / excellent place to be given the price, location, proximity, and service.
I came during a humid/hot summer. You acclimate and locals are very friendly. You don't feel out of place or not welcomed. The town itself is like a Los Altos, Saratoga, Los Gatos and other small town vibe but without the pretentiousness. It seems like those fancy towns spend money to build something like Winters. It's near Lake Berryessa and offers a couple of local taprooms. I didn't have high expectations for stellar quality for everything, but what Winters has to offer met and exceeded my expectations. There's great quality in this town if you want to stay or visit.
