This downtown house was the perfect place to stay for us! Spacious common space both outside and in the living room. Our room was beautifully decorated with period furnishings; the queen bed was super comfy. We loved the abundance of breakfast fixings available to us in the refrigerator, cupboards, and counters - a new experience for us well-traveled folks! On top of that, the hostess was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The Abbey House location in downtown Winters allowed us to walk to everything. We look forward to returning soon.

We booked a one night stay for our overnighter in Winters at the Abbey House Inn. There was one room available, so we had the Bernhardt Suite with a double bed. There was no proprietor on site, but the emailed instructions we received before our visit were clear and helpful. Inside, there is an inviting sitting area downstairs with a nice selection of books. The kitchen is well equipped with a bit of options for a help yourself breakfast and snacks. Our room was clean, quaint and had a nice charm to it. Though the ceiling in the bathroom was angled, and yes I clearly saw that, I still must have smacked my head in it (lightly) more than a couple of times. For breakfast, we helped ourselves to hard boiled egg, English muffin, coffee and biscotti. Nobody else was downstairs when we were having breakfast, so ours a nice quiet time. We enjoyed looking at the photos of the property downstairs that depicted its restoration from the former state of the building. The property is within easy walking distance to the little downtown – literally, one block walk and you are there. A nice, clean and well-priced lodging option in a very enjoyable California small town. Highly recommended.

A true "country inn" makes a guest feel welcome and at home :-) Within a block from boutiques and live music and an assortment of restaurants, it is place to hide away from complexity and find simplicity---- Thank-you Pam and Eric!!!

Abbey Inn is a great place to stay. Super clean, super friendly staff. Generous. Nice little kitchen where they put out muffins and load up the fridge with eggs & stuff. Nice common living room. It’s like a home away from home.

We have stayed at many B&Bs of many styles and vintages over the years. Though Winters, CA is not a famous destination, the Abbey House Inn and the overall experience was perhaps our favorite stay. We met the proprietors, Pam and Eric, a lively and innovative couple, which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of Winters and the inn. The inn is very clean, comfortable and well furnished and is the best-stocked B&B one can imagine, with everything from personal care items to food. There is no innkeeper present most of the time and some might be unhappy to not have the traditional fancy breakfast served. However, the kitchen is fully stocked with a great assortment of food for any meal, not just breakfast, so guests can fix themselves anything from snacks to a full meal. The inn is alcohol and weed friendly, but there is no smoking of any kind allowed inside the inn. Pam and Eric have a couple of very nice, electric-assisted pedicabs. Eric took us for a pedicab tour of Winters, downtown streets, an old railroad bridge, snaking trails along Putah Creek and more; this most amazing ride was a highlight of our vacation (and Winters was meant to be just an overnight stay after the coastal splendor of Mendecino and the charms of Calistoga). As with most quiet B&Bs, children and pets are discouraged. The inn is located right in downtown Winters, so dining, wine tasting, breweries, shops and bars are within walking distance. Highly recommended--and try to arrange a pedicab tour!
