My boyfriend and I were so pleasantly surprised with our stay at Coho Cottages! It's a quiet, peaceful set up about an hour away from Redwood National Park. We stayed in the Tao House (small, quaint, charming) and the Summer House (warm, inviting, has a nice covered deck). We loved both cottages equally! We had great communication with the owner, who helped us store some food & belongings when we moved to the other cottage & gave us good recommendations for traveling there. The property was also actively practicing social distancing (no contact check in) and went above and beyond with cleaning the facilities between stays. All in all, HIGHLY recommend for a nice getaway, reasonably priced, clean and beautiful. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Thank you Corinne! Our little mountain town was happy to have you visit! We're glad you enjoyed both your spaces. The Tao is smaller by the standard of our cottages. We are glad you felt the cozy aspect of it. It has been a challenge to provide guest service at a distance but the short end, is that we are on the horn 24/7. So glad you noticed! We hope to see you again very soon.

We stayed at several different hotels or lodges on our trip. Coho cottages was by far the nicest place of them all. We had a lot of room, They thought of lots of little details that made it more comfortable like lights that dim. They recycled which many other places did not and I appreciated that. There was enough coffee for our entire stay and they had a freezer which came in very handy.

Extra towels and extra wash cloths which other places seldom offer. Bathrooms were big and had great fixtures. Screened in porch gave a place to get away if you wanted to and kept the bugs at bay.

Close to town so you could grab some food easily. It was quiet at night, you didn’t hear your neighbors banging around or getting up in the morning. Their heating and cooling system was excellent, quiet and adjusted quickly.

You could come and go as you please, it was wonderful.

We stayed one night here after doing the amazing Tall Trees Loop in Humbolt County and we were delighted with Coho Cottages. This is a great choice in a rural area without a lot of hotel and dining choices. The Spa cottage was roomy, private, clean and nicely decorated.

It was a pleasure grilling our steaks on the small deck and dining outside. The kitchen is limited, no cooktop or oven, but just what we needed for a few simple meals. There is a darling garden too where we picked some herbs. We brought many of our own ingredients but visited the convenient local store as well. Loved the stack of fluffy new white towels and roomy bathroom areas.

A lovely, safe and pleasant choice in Humbolt County. Thank you Coho Cottages!

Coho Cottage advertises on their webpage "Luxury Vacation Cabins". The Tao House is a single room attached to adjacent sleeping quarters that are part of the small office complex; as such, the Tao House is not a cabin and it is not luxurious. The small porch, dirty with dead insects stuck to the wall beneath the porch light, had a view across an asphalt parking area. The room was not clean - dead insects and dust on the window sills and an especially large wad of dust hanging off the door sill. The noise from the adjacent room required that I wear ear plugs to bed! - Motel 6 all over again! And at $189 per night!
Based on the information presented on the Coho Cottages webpage, I had every reason to believe it was a luxury vacation cabin that my wife and I would be occupying for our three night stay. The webpage absolutely misrepresented what the Tao House purported to be; that is reprehensible and I am not impressed.

Hi Daniel. Here's the same reply I posted on Google: Hello Daniel and our sincere thanks for this review. We’ve just become aware we were receiving Google reviews and so the response is delayed. It is true that the Tao House is a space in our main building and does share a wall with another unit. Thanks to your feedback, we will update our online information to indicate this. August in the forest is the time of insects. We truly do tend to them daily but it is less than 24 hours before they've made their way onto door sills and under outdoor fixtures. We will make every effort to continue to keep an eye on this in the height of flying insect season. We truly do appreciate the feedback. We would like to make things right if you'd care to join again. Please contact the office, your record with us has been updated with information regarding another possible stay with us. Thank you again and we wish you all the best.

We had a wonderful long weekend stay at Coho Cottages. We stayed in the Summer House, which was beyond beautiful and comfortable. Beds were great, had small kitchen with toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer and dishes and utensils. Bathroom was so spacious and we loved the screened in porch with table and chairs as well as adirondack chairs. We would love to replicate this place wherever we travel. Also, the place was immaculately clean and very quiet. More than 5 stars to this place.

Thoughtful touches and all the comforts of home and then some, the cottages are by far the best place to stay in rural Trinity area. Modern heating and air, easy check in system with electronic locks, and fresh coffee and creamer in the room were some of the highlights. Beautiful garden nearby and a quiet sleep rounded out a great experience. Would return.

My family and stayed in the Fish Camp cabin. Upon arrival all seemed good, the cabins are very cute. After being in the cabin for maybe an hour the A/C unit started to leak water all over the floor. The front desk sent someone out look at it. The Maintance person mentioned that the previous guest had had also complained about the A/C leaking water. Nothing was done to fix the A/C. Our stay that night was very uncomfortable as it was hot out. In the morning I called the front desk to see if we could get a credit as these cabins are not cheap. The woman on the phone said that she would call us back. As of now we have not heard from anyone.

We had a lovely stay at Coho Cottages. We stayed in the Summer House which had a nice enclosed deck which was nice. While we didn't have much interaction with the staff due to covid, what interactions we did have were great. I met the owner as we were checking out and he was a life saver helping out with a pet that ran away.

Loved everything about this wonderful property. The cottage had every special touch imaginable. It was spacious and impeccably cleaned. Although I stayed in December during a driving rain storm, I can only imagine how perfect these cottages would be for extended spring, summer or fall visits. Check-in was simple and the cottage was nice and cozy when I arrived. I will highly recommend Coho Cottages to my friends, family and co-workers.

Coho Cottages offers several different cottage accommodations. We tried the Promontory for a night and then moved to Village Cabin. The Promontory has a large, screened porch and overlooks a bluff and the Trinity River. It is quite spacious and very well appointed. Due to a previous booking, we had to move to Village Cabin for our remaining 3 nights in Willow Creek. Although much smaller, it, too, is nicely appointed and has a small, unscreened porch out front that overlooks a tree-filled gulley.
