We had dinner here. I ordered the smoked trout and the salmon and my partner ordered the trio of shrimp and the rabbit. We also had a bottle of Sancerre. The food was very tasty, well-prepared and well-priced. Maybe just a little remark regarding the main course: people do not need both pasta, potato gratin and fries as side-dishes for their main course. Carb overload :-). Service was very friendly. The terrace and the views are quite lovely and their garden looks amazing. I am sorry we did not return to this place the second evening of our stay in the Voerstreek.

Had a nice little lunch with family on the terrace. Great view and beautiful pond. Food was good and service seamless. Very well located not far from the Commanderie. Had the opportunity to visit a few rooms that have been renovated with style. Highly recommended.

In June we stayed four nights with Scottish friends in De Cantarel. It was great! We had the "luxury rooms", which are twice the size of the normal rooms. They are situated on the top floor and offer a nice view on the surroundings. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is very nice.
The day starts with a generous breakfast buffet. As the weather was fine, we could do a lot of walking in one of Flanders nicest countrysides. More, if you like to visit some cities, Liège, Aachen, Maastricht and Trier are well within reach.
Coming home in the evening a succulent three course diner was served
If you have the chance to visit, ask for the luxury room(s) and the price for half-board gets more favourable the longer you stay (e.g. 1 nights for the price of 3).
