This fascinating 12th century castle was the perfect base for our brief visit to Tuscany. The location provides easy access to Firenze, Siena, Pisa and other Tuscan towns and is surrounded by charming villages including nearby Montespertoli, a classic hill town. We were fascinated by the architecture and history and delighted by the grounds, maze and beautiful pool. The restaurant...

Our family stayed here for five days and enjoyed the opportunity to stay in such a historic castle. The reception staff were very helpful, and our children enjoyed the pool and ping-pong. There had been a wedding the night before we arrived, and our room was not ready. They gave us a double upgrade after the first night to a...

We were in this gorgeous place for dinner, accompanied with appr. 20 more people. We had one of the most fantastic dinner served there with many dishes served one after the other. It was just excellent; I would highly recommend this place.

This is a 12th century castle that was remodeled in the 17th century. The history is incredible and the location is perfect for wandering the Tuscany region. It is not in the best of repair. But the employees, especially Giuseppe, were very helpful. This property could use a little attention. But it was still very fun to stay there. We...

We stayed in an apartment looking up at the castle with a nice patio. The apartment had 2 bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and even gave us a private tour of some of the non public areas of the castle. We had a wonderful time in...

Our family stayed in an apartment in the main castle, on the top floor. The apartment had two bedrooms and two beds in the main living area. We took advantage of the small kitchen a little to make coffee every morning and keep some leftovers in the refrigerator. Everyone slept very well, so the beds were quite comfortable for us....

Our room was in the castle rather than the surrounding grounds. Our room was actually 3 rooms, kitchen, small room with a couch/bed outside the bathroom, and the bedroom. The bed was comfortable but very firm. There was only the mattress and no box spring, but it was comfortable to us. We stayed the first week in May which meant...

We loved the rustic feel of this castle villa. The staff was friendly and the apartment/flat was cozy and authentic. We had everything we needed for cooking light meals and packing lunches. Quiet and gorgeous views from the veranda.

This one is tough to review. First to the great things about it. It is a real ancient castello in a good location near Florence in Tuscany. It has beautiful grounds, a pool and is quiet. There are staircases, a grotto and several courtyards to explore making it a favourite with children. It has individual apartments, so it is not...

What a nice surprise in the hills of Chianti region of Tuscany. We had a lovely room (Bella vista) with nice little kitchen and plenty of room to relax. You are on your own and we felt like we had the eight hundred year old castle to ourselves being there before high season. Olive groves, grape vines and ringing church...
