We have stayed here over 20 years and watched the beautiful grounds grow and florish. The rooms in the various buildings of this two-story complex are comfortable. We prefer the one with the fireplace and tub but there are many other types. Service in every area is impeccable - from the time you book your reservation until you leave -- the staff attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The Inn's expansion into wines began with the planting of a delightful vineyard and addition of The Stonehaus where you can taste and drink wines and order some nibbles to go with. The building is great from breakfast into night. We have played golf a few times on the public course abutting the property. The hotel is located just off the 101 and has a charming outdoor mall minutes from the property. Santa Barbara is about an hour's drive away. On our daily morning walks around the property, we always stop to play a game of bocci ball on the court next to the Stonehaus. The new spa looks fabulous and has a great menu of services you can read online. Unfortunately, at the moment it is closed Monday and Tuesday and won't be open full time for a few weeks. Also missing at the moment is the morning coffee usually served in the lobby. It, too, will return in a few weeks. The grounds are beautifully planted, lush with clashes of colors and types of plants. The air is perfumed everywhere you walk. Weekends, the Inn is frequently booked with wedding parties so, if you know you want to stay at the Inn ahead of time, book as early as possible. Sometimes, like this visit, we had to take a different room the first night, then change into the room we wanted for the duration of our visit. (And we had booked 3 months ahead!) The staff moved our bags and were wonderfully helpful. Yes, at first we did try other hotels in the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village area before finding Westlake Village Inn. But this is now our home whenever we come to visit family and friends.…
My husband and I have been going the once a week at the spa side. Spent thousand dollars. One day my husband had an appt. with the spa side. We were not staying there that time. We just wanted to hang out at the pool till his appt. The Spa manager kicked us out !!! Told us that they too full when we got to the pool no one was there ??? I guess we go back to the Four Seasons Westlake Ca. To bad
They completely screwed up our reservation which turned our 9 day planned stay into 2 days. The “regular” rooms are old an in need of renovation, their “spa”rooms are very nice but small at 400 SF and the closet is tiny, no room for nite than one carry on and a hang bag. Our real problem was the fact we made a reservation for a “spa suite” for 9 nights. They gave us a regular room which we immediately recognized wasn’t correct when we opened the door. The front desk then told us all their spa suites were sold out but they could put us in a spa room for two nights, after which we would have to move back to the old room because they were “overbooked”. Instead we decided to check out an we won’t be back.
Excellent service! Great attention to detail in rooms. The wet bar has plenty of counter space. Balcony access off the dining and main bedroom are great. Steamer in shower worked great. Double vanities in restroom are a plus.
We live in the area however we stayed here one night for a quick (toddler free) getaway. The spa rooms are absolutely breathtaking. The soaking tub and fireplace was 5 stars. By comparison, we recently stayed at the Rosewood Miramar for 3 nights and I greatly appreciated our stay/room at WVI better than at Rosewood.
