No. I’m alive and well and I was a happy guest at Four Seasons Westlake Village just 3 days ago. It was what I think Heaven will be when I get there. Only St. Peter was missing (getting a massage, probably). My room, the salon, the pool, the Chai Latte and, most importantly, the managers and staff. A beautiful experience all the way around, top to bottom. I can’t wait to go back!

Hands down my favorite hotel to stay in all the world. (And I've been to many hotels around the world). Four Seasons Westlake Village has all the accommodations and amenities that you would expect from a Four Seasons hotel: beautiful common grounds, great on premise restaurants, and luxurious guestrooms. What sets this property apart, however, is the attention and care of the staff. Whenever I go, I'm not just a "valued client" or a "welcomed guest", I'm treated as someone special and respected, and it shows from how all the staff addresses me and my family. I've traveled there on business trips and it's a great place to rejuvenate and get a good night's sleep. I've traveled there on leisure with my family where the pools are exquisite, the food is delicious, and the rooms are so plush and wide that it makes for a very comfortable stay. There are so many little touches about the property that are worthwhile, but I highly recommend taking a tour of their museum and the entire hotel grounds which are pristine and beautiful and which they make open for all.

The transfer time from airport to hotel was not too bad at all. Upon arrival the grounds looked well maintained. Check in was swift, and the reception staff were very friendly and informative. We were placed in a ground floor apartment in A block, adjacent to the kids play area. The apartment was clean and spacious , but do agree with others is quite outdated. We had two bedrooms, one en suite. And a larger family bathroom with bath and shower. The shower in the en suite I couldn’t close because h got stuck in it and it was very temperamental and not very spacious to move around in. The beds reminded me of fold out camp beds with a slightly thicker mattress, we didn’t find them particularly comfortable but my son slept okay on them. On a plus though the kitchen was well equipped. We travelled with an 8 month old so having a microwave was a god send to sterilise his bottles. Sofas were outdated and not the cleanest, covered in marks of some sort. No tvs in bedroom, only in living room and it can be problematic to tune in but does have some channels. The balcony was very spacious and was always nice to sit out there first thing in the morning before the heat became too much. We had air conditioning throughout, including in the bedrooms. It was very welcomed, especially when you had been out in the sweltering heat as it does get very very hot here. Location wise it was okay. The first beach we went to was all downhill but up a killer hill on the way back - do not recommend that one. La Pineda was around 15 minutes walk downhill, with a beautiful sandy beach and a fair few shops. Recommend a taxi back though as it’s all downhill on the way and up hill on the way back. Salou is further out, so a taxi or bus is recommended as it gets very hot and with young children is too much to walk. It is full of lots of shops and restaurants and a beautiful sandy beach. The pools were okay, the larger pool is very shallow, ie I could stand it in at the deep end! The baby pool needs some attention, there are NO steps to get in and out of the pool which means you often need to rely on a second adult with the littler ones to help you hold them so you can get in and out. Also the little pool was often invaded by older children jumping in and splashing the babies and upsetting them. We often had to get out as there was little control and the lifeguard did not really monitor it. She seemed more focused on telling people they couldn’t have their shirts on in the bigger pool. It ruins the experience for the younger ones because the older children shouldn’t be in the baby pool. Staff were all generally lovely. The only one we struggled with was one of the tall blonde haired cleaners she always had a face like thunder and never smiled. Everyone else was lovely and always smiling and polite. Food was limited, compared to other hotels I have been to. It had two small areas , one full of salads etc and the other for the hot food. Breakfast was ok, the same daily with the usual bacon, sausage, egg etc but really limited on its continental options. Lunches were repetitive again but usually something for everyone. Dinners were ok , repetitive again but did things like roast beef, roast pork, bbq food, pastas, beef pie etc. I did eat out a few times because I wanted something different The bar in the club doesn’t open until 8pm which can be a little frustrating because it means walking to the front bar or the one down by the pool if you want a drink. There is no Internet cafe, no atm on site and no pay phone. There are few arcade machines for the kids, pool and darts. It lacks what I would consider an arcade area for the kids. Ladies - an absolute godsend was the laundry service. For 5 euros a load they will wash your laundry (between 5-10pm) and dry for an extra 3. I only used the wash option as there is an airer on the balcony which does the job! Entertainment personally was a mixed bag. The staff were generally friendly especially Kian. Some can be pushy though in trying to get you to participate in things. Often felt put on the spot. Found the entertainment more adult centred. My son did do the kiddies club which was mostly same ole same ole, lots of colouring! He did get bored easily. Some shows were ok, others not so. It wasn’t as good as other hotels I have been to. Lots of staffing issues which impacted on morale and the running of activities. New starters often left alone and unaware at no fault of theirs. I wouldn’t personally rate the entertainment it needs some serious improvement. On one occasion one of the friends we made went to collect her daughter and found that the children had been sat in front of a screen for the advertised cinema watching Disney Zombies with NO adult present, the staff had left the premises and this mother had a random three year old come running to her crying that she was scared and didn’t know where her mum was. I found that pretty shocking and a huge safeguarding issue.

The Four Seasons Westlake Village stands out in the area as quite simply the only place anyone would want to stay, Its big bright airy clean and well maintained. The facilities' are also very good. But what makes it stand out is first and foremost the staff, from the helpful guys when you arrive outside to the relaxed efficient and knowledgeable reception staff inside to the fun bar staff everyone actually treats the customers properly. The Hotel has plenty of outside seating and dining areas and previously had a small enjoyable outside TV and Cigar/Smoking area. You could relax, watch sport, shoot the breeze with strangers and have a smoke. Sadly i've heard some old witch who had nothing better to do complained to the authorities and it had to be closed or the Hotel would have been blacklisted by some woke group of nutters. A sad loss and it was a nice spot for us outsiders too, but hey that's California nowadays you cannot smoke a cigarette but hey I am sure dropping a log in the lobby would be legal .lol !!

My husband & I like to treat ourselves to the occasional Four Season’s visit. I hadn’t tried the Westlake Village location & my husband thought it would be a nice Mother’s Day gift for me. The plan was for me to drive up by myself on Saturday & spend the night alone so I could enjoy the pool & quiet time to myself; the ultimate Mother’s Day splurge (for me anyway). On Mother’s Day, my husband and & 2 kids were going to drive from Long Beach to meet me at the hotel for brunch, but that's not what happened. Like other guests commented, I was not wowed upon arrival, but the people who checked me in were attentive & kind. My husband paid extra for a view & when I arrived to my room, I was pleasantly surprised. I quickly put on my bathing suit & headed to the pool, book in hand. The pool was meh and a bit dated. I was placed on a waitlist upon check-in at the pool, but there were plenty of lounge chairs. The woman told me it was about a 20 min wait & they’d text me 3x. If I didn’t get back after the texts, my spot would be given away. I was starving so I decided to go to the restaurant to eat. When I finally arrived at the restaurant there were no seats, but they created one for me at the bar. By the time I was seated, I had received 2 of 3 texts. I quickly paid for my drink & rushed back to the pool (not relaxing at all). I made it just in time. I was shown to my chase & given an umbrella seat. I wasn’t there long before a server came to take my order. After my lunch I went in the water where I saw a napkin floating at the bottom. I’m ok with that at a 3 star hotel, but not at The Four Seasons, especially for the price you pay. After getting out of the water, I wanted another drink, but couldn’t find anyone to take my order. Whenever I’d ask a person walking by they would say, “Oh, you need to ask that guy”. They kept passing the buck to a phantom guy and I was dismissed...every time. So, I never got a drink. Again, something I’d expect at a 3 star hotel, but not at a hotel charging $800 per night. By this point, I was so disappointed & decided to just go back to my room to relax, read, drink wine & watch TV. When I returned to my room, I could see outside of my window that they were setting up for a large party. By 6 pm, the party was on full blast. The DJ was so loud I could hear him and the music, word for word, in my room. I couldn’t read, couldn’t watch TV & couldn’t relax. I decided to just watch the party, which was fun for about an hour, but by 9pm, the party was still going & Kanye West was blaring in my room, with strobe lights (I like Kanye when I’m running, not relaxing). I was already disappointed from earlier & this event was just the icing on the cake. I called the front desk & was informed it would quiet down at 10 pm, but not stop. Knowing I couldn’t sleep through the noise, I cancelled brunch reservations, checked out & drove home. I was not charged for my stay (only the valet and food/drink), but my quiet Mother’s Day was ruined.

The hotel did call the next day & offered a one bedroom upgrade. It’s a nice gesture, but to be honest, I don’t want to go back. I would’ve had a better experience at a hotel near my home for 1/2 of the price. I’m a teacher & can’t afford to spend $800 on anything but a relaxing stay. I thought about not writing this review since the hotel tried to make it right...kind of. I also realize that post COVID, businesses are short staffed and trying to recoup costs. If that's the case and you can't provide the same level of service, don't charge $800 per night. Also, let guests know that there is going to be a loud party that may impede their stay. Had those things happened, I wouldn't have been so disappointed.

I consider myself a highly adaptable traveler with a wide range of interesting experiences in dingy hostels and luxurious hotels. This property belongs to the world-renowned hotel franchise of Four Seasons. Any guest would have high expectation commensurate with the high price he or she pays for. So I went there in anticipation that we would have a luxurious experience, just like my other 5-star lodging experiences outside the US (e.g. Asia, Mexico). My family and I spent 3 days and 2 nights there during the last spring break. The property was mostly clean and well-maintained, but it did not hide the fact that it was looking aged and old-fashioned. The room was clean, neat and spotless. The bed and sheets were nice and luxurious. We loved the spacious bathroom with both shower and bathtub wide apart. But there was just nothing like a "WOW" effect to impress us. There was not even any turndown service in the evening. I booked for a spa treatment in celebration of my birthday. Although I was grateful for a job well done by the therapist (he was able to relieve the tension on my recovering frozen shoulder), I couldn't believe how aged and run-down my therapy room was. There was nothing too enticing for me to lounge at the common area, regardless of how the spa facility was acclaimed as one of the best in the country. I understand that the facility was under renovation at that time, and some effort was made by the management to minimize any inconvenience caused to the guests. Perhaps you should only visit this spa after the said renovation is completed. So what were the positive memories about this place? We enjoyed our breakfast in the restaurant and in-room (although the menu variety was quite limited). We had a good time swimming in the family pool and strolling in its beautiful garden. I went for a decent yoga class in the gym, welcomed by a friendly yoga instructor. I discovered some tiny surprises during breakfast i.e. roasted capers (on smoked salmon) were delicious, and coffee was served in the fancy Ember mug. The customer services were mostly OK by a 4-star standard. The staff were mostly friendly. But it also took them close to 1 hour to deliver some essentials to our room. We also had to pay for a hefty fee on overnight parking. Although it was overall a decent experience (closer to a 4-star), I do not think I will ever spend more dimes on this property if I have better options elsewhere. Definitely not at its current going room rates. I understand that we live in challenging times now with the ongoing pandemic, inflation, hiring and supply chain issue, and war in Ukraine. I just hope they will do better going forward. If you do decide to stay there, lower your expectation for a better peace of mind.

We have visited this hotel many times with our children. This will be our last visit. We LOVE Four Seasons!! This hotel is not a real FS and is manged by terrible people who fail to embrace the FS charm and hospitality. Their failures and poor service are too numerous to count! This stay, we arrived at the pool to find what looked like throw up next to the loungers. There was a used peice of gum on top of our table. Nobody from FS had bothered to clean it up. Finally after an hour there, we had to ask an employee to clean the throw up. Their poolside lunch service was 80 minutes after we ordered. They forgot the salmon in the salad and that took another 20 minutes. Our children were passing out from waiting for a couple of simple kids cheeseburgers to arrive. After we went to our room, we ordered dinner at 8pm. They took 120 minutes to bring room service dinner for our family of four and kept lying that it would be there is 15 minutes... whereas they brought the order a full extra hour even after we had called to complain that it was already an hour late. What's worse is FS still forgot 2/3 of our order, and then offered us a couple of "cocktails" to make up for their inexcusable blunders. We'd rather just have had our food ( 4 soups) on time and never accepted their offensive " let's give you 2 free cocktails" to forget we've screwed up all day. The kids/ teen lounge is unhygienic and not cleaned. Half of their video games are out of order, and their pool tables are full of long hair and debris. Their hand sanitizer was empty the whole stay, and was never even checked by FS. This hotel is not up to FS standards any step of the way. If you're expecting a FS seamless vacay, skip this terribly managed hotel. It's a stressful experience sure to make you feel unrelaxed and wanting to get a real FS hotel experience for your next getaway. The management is poor and I think it stinks from the top down.

Excellent hotel! We're from the East Coast and my son decided to attend college in California. I was looking for a 'home away from home' type setting. The Four Seasons fits that perfectly. The entire staff of every department from valet, restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, pool, etc are all so kind and personable. It really makes us feel at home and it's a great place for us to have some quality time visiting our son.
