Writing a review about The Sunset Tower is not an easy task. Because this is not an ordinary luxury hotel, but more a very elegant home away from home. Despite its legendary history, this place always makes you feel at ease and welcome. I’ve stayed in many posh hotels, but never felt so good and relaxed like at Sunset Tower. And if u think that people like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor - just to name a few of the endless stars who slept here - this is quite impressive. We stayed in a lovely deluxe room, with terrific window from floor to ceiling overlooking both Sunset Strip and Downtown Bed was super comfy, bathroom large with window and immense shower and or course the iconic wallpaper by Donal Robertson. Everyone from front desk, waiters, ladies who clean your room, valet is professional but at the same time friendly, warm and smiley. Every request we made was successfully and quicky fullfilled. We were welcomed with a great bottle of wine when we arrived and everyday received a lovely gift (chocolate, cookies, candles). Sunset Tower Bar and restaurant are after almost 100 years since their opening THE PLACE TO BE especially during Oscar week. We had dinner next to Stevie Wonder, Cindy Crawford, Dua Lipa and many other celebrities I can’t even remember. Let me thank one special person who made our stay really unforgettable: Ms Barbara Cameron - director of food and beverage - and her staff. Barbara is a real gem and that person who makes the difference: generous, sincere, helpful, warm but always professional and on point. Ok now I have to name one thing they should improve: face cream is missing and in general beauty products - which are nevertheless good - should come from a luxury brand like Hermès or similia. To cut a long story short: if you go to LA choose Sunset Tower Hotel and they will make you feel like a celebrity. Can’t wait to be back William De Luca…
Always wanted to stay here and finally did so. We were not disappointed. The service and staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Location is excellent - many walkable places along the Sunset Strip. Beautiful views from the rooms and the terrace, Lots of attention to detail. A very authentic, comfortable Hollywood experience.
Very nice and friendly hotel with a touch of old Hollywood glamour. The service is lovely and the hotel feels very glamorous. The building is beautiful and the staff makes you feel special. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms lovely. The swimming pool could be bigger and sometimes crowded, but I love being there and keep on coming back. It is my destination address when in Los Angeles.
Excellent service, great location and classic Hollywood vibes throughout. Really enjoyed my stay and all the delicious meals. Rooms are on the smaller side given the age of the building but are comfortable and well equipped. The friendly and efficient staff really made my stay memorable.
The sunset tower is a magical place with the genuine Hollywood vibes. The views overlooking all the city are amazing and the staff is so dedicated. Totally recommend this place. The lunch in the terrace is a good experience too.
The staff were incredibly nice and extremely efficient at their jobs. The building is jaw dropping if you like art deco architecture. Everyone should. The tower bar slings world class cocktails (cosmo is mandatory I had about 47) and the big pot of coffee and Salmon benedict hits the spot. Not for the Hampton Inn crowd.
No trip to LA can be compete without a stay or at least a dinner stop to the Sunset Tower. Ideally placed to absolutely anywhere you any to go and see, this is a property that is unmatched for genuine Hollywood glamour. The decor, service and atmosphere here is truly unique and I couldn’t recommend any stronger. Looking forward to getting back as soon as possible.
This is well worth the splurge for a short stay, or longer if you have yards of the long green. We stayed for only one night, and were very well treated. We used the Amex FHR plan, which entitles you to free breakfast, and a $100 credit we used at the bar. Check in was smooth and our room was ready on time. We had booked a deluxe king - there was a small balcony but you could not step out onto it. Still the view was beautiful. Our room was decorated in a 40s style, for the proper atmosphere. It's more about mood and vibe than ultimate luxury. Plenty of outlets for the tech obsessed. The bathroom was large, and the hotel bothers to have its own branded amenities rather than a designer brand, a touch I appreciated. Again, the bathroom's a bit old fashioned, with charming wallpaper--more like the 60s. Two nice robes. Don't skip the bar, you'll definitely miss a good drink, if not the occasional A-lister. Again, the mood and feel are spot on. When we returned from dinner out, discovered a chocolate tower in the room. Sleep quality was very good - no disturbances, comfortable bed. In the morning we had breakfast inside but in the open air with a view over the pool. My smoked salmon Benedict was on point, as was my wife's omelette. They did substitute healthy fruit for the fried potatoes I had ordered, but hey it's LA. Check out was smooth, I wished our plans had called for a second night here.…
Very good service from front desk till to the valet. Very nice people, very clean room. Very clean common areas. One thing: The rooms are on smaller side in comparison to the other LA Hotel rooms. I do not give a cent. It is nice. Anyone is working to make you happy. Will definitely be back.
West Hollywood is my favorite area and deciding between hotels can be daunting as there are so many options. I narrowed my choices down to Sunset Tower, Andaz, and Mondrian and due to favorable reviews, I chose Sunset Tower Hotel and moving forward, this will be my choice hotel when visiting LA. From the moment I pulled into valet until my departure, the service I was provided was unparalleled and I am not anywhere near celebrity status, so the treatment I was shown made me feel valued as a client; not to mention the handwritten thank you note that was waiting for me with a small box of delicious truffles. As many times as I have stayed/visited the Los Angeles area, I never knew this hotel was so rich in history until I read the book in my room. All of those factors solidified my feeling that I had chosen the right hotel, While some hotels might be more modern, the rooms at sunset, are very nice, cozy and styled more traditionally which is indicative of the culture and glam associated with this hotel. The sunset hotel screams old status versus many others on the block and when you have a hotel on this level, the clientele is a bit more elegant and mature, the employees are usually more seasoned and it seems the turnover is very low if at all. While every employee was fantastic the ones that stood out the most were Eva (front desk) and Angel (Tower Bar). While waiting for my friend, I complimented Eva on her accent and I found out she is from Kenya. We had a lovely, genuine conversation and her smile was always so beautiful. I dined in the tower bar for breakfast every day and even when I was not in his section, Angel always stopped by and asked if there was anything I needed. Obviously, I have nothing but kind words for this place and next year, I will back with my family.…
