if you are looking for me, i'll be at the Chateau. we have a property up in NY but never fail to visit LA every summer and this is where we would stay. staff are polite and helpful. rooms are gorgeous. very convenient to get around as well.

The Chateau never fails to make me just feel happy. It is pretty much perfect; the staff has a way of making you feel like you're an old friend, the rooms transport you to another time and place, and the whole atmosphere is pure magic. If you want a cookie cutter, packaged 'cool' experience with brand tie-in's everywhere, don't stay...

We recently stayed at the Chateau Marmont for a few nights, and I'm ready to move in. We had a garden cottage, which is down by the pool and closer to Sunset Blvd. than the hotel itself yet we didn't have any problem with street noise in our cottage. It is on Sunset Blvd., but so is pretty much every...

The Chateau isn't for everyone, the best way I can describe it is like staying at a wealthy eccentric aunts house! You totally feel like one of the family and staff treat you as an old friend, something I have never experienced anywhere. There is good service, then there is Chateau service and the service at this hotel totally exceeds...

This is a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 4-5 star based purely on its star appeal. Yes I saw two major celebs at two separate tables and a few other b or c list celebs acting as though they were a list. But the service was terrible, the food only meh, the gym is laughable and the pool is...

Stopped By for a cocktail. Most expensive valet in L.A.Bar was crowded, noisy, long wait for a way overpriced drink. Won't be back. If you like to spend a lot of money to be seen and look this is the place for you.

I always forget about the Chateau for lunch. Great outdoor space with the best most eclectic people watching in LA. Artists, star, musicians...you name it and they are around. Say nothing of the famous grand dame herself, the hotel. It just reeks of stories and history. And guess what? The food is fantastic! We went early and had our choice...

Most cool hotels don't hold that status for very long. Like the open and shut of an aperture, their blink-and-and-you-miss it moment is like Icarus in the sun. But not Chateau. Somehow this hotel actually transcends cool. It retains the air of a private, exclusive club whilst letting anyone (provided they can afford it) rent a room. It's not the...

Our one-night stay at CM was for the purpose of experiencing "old Hollywood". With that in mind, it did not matter much that we waited over an hour for our room to be ready (past the 3:00 pm check in), as we were seated on the patio and provided free cocktails ($18 for one cocktail).! Yes - we did see...

Let me stay straight away that we did not stay here, but wish we had. We were on a whistle stop tour of LA, Grand Canyon, Vegas and San Francisco. We were last in LA 18 years ago and I drove past the Chateau Marmont. I immediately recognised it as being the hotel that many rock legends have made famous....
