First time staying on Sunset, and I’m sure not the last time staying at the Grafton. My girlfriend booked us this spot based off the nice pool and surrounding area. The pool did get a little loud sometimes, but we mainly spent our time away from the hotel. Thank you Angelina for recommending good spots to eat and drink (go to Saddle Ranch). Hoping to come back and use the pool when it’s a little hotter.
I love this Hotel. Ed at the front desk was amazing and incredibly helpful. i have a large truck and we figured out a way for me to park in the back without having any issues. I also needed directions and the customer service was on point.
Booked this hotel using my Chase points. Got a great deal on it, or so I thought until I checked out. So let's start with the positives. 1. Great location. 2. Cozy comfortable room 3. Clean and hip 4. Nice room location close to pool. 5. Quiet and quaint. 6, Central location in WEHO The negatives 1. Free coffee in the morning had no flavor, but hey, it was free 2. Parking $30 a night to roll down the hill behind the hotel and park in an unsecured lot - obviously a money maker for the hotel, but on LA standards, that was probably cheap for parking at any hotel on Sunset. BUT NOT SECURED. 3. BIGGEST NEGATIVE - $28 per day - guest amenities fee - WHAT????? FOR WHAT??? A POOL! This was not noted on the reservations, nor was it discussed upon check-in. I'm annoyed with Chase travel and with the hotel for not disclosing this, especially since there is NO RESORT. IT'S A DAMN POOL! A pool quite honestly that anyone could come use if you found the back entrance to the hotel from the parking lot down the hill. The gate to come up from the parking lot to the pool was never closed. No key required to enter. Anyone could walk in, easy peasy, without paying A RESORT FEE! YEAH...RESORT FEE - WON'T BE BACK! Which is sad because it was great getaway. Oh, and because of COVID RESTRICTIONS - understandably so - NO BAR OR RESTAURANT - so guest resort fee, really meant there was no resort PERIOD...BUT WE WILL CHARGE YOU ONE, BECAUSE THAT'S HOW WE ROLL ON SUNSET!…
Something keeps drawing me back to Grafton...the charm of the property, the uniqueness of rooms, the friendliest team around. We have stayed here several times over the last few months, and Grafton is my hotel of choice when in the area. Edwin and Joao go above and beyond to ensure we have a great stay. In a world where everyone is forgettable soon as they walk out the door, it is so wonderful to be remembered and greeted by name when we walk in the hotel. Being in hospitality and traveling all over the world, I can say this is a rare quality of many hotels and resorts. We will definitely be back again soon :)
I’m actually a local and spent many an evening pre-pandemic at the bar and by the pool. This hotel has always had a cool vibe. Lately I’ve been meeting my girlfriend Amy here when she comes in from out of town and we absolutely love this place. The hotel is a great mix of charm, comfortable and stylish rooms, along with the friendliest team. We were last here for Amy’s birthday. Edwin and Joao really went above and beyond to make sure her birthday was extra special. This has become our go to hotel in Los Angeles.
