The Charlie provides exclusive luxurious accommodations to a worldwide clientele, whilst preserving the natural and historical beauty of the property's grounds. The landmark upon which The Charlie resides today was first built & established in 1924 by the Ruth Gordon family. Word has it that numerous movie star legends have roamed these grounds in the past, living out their glorious days to the fullest! Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, and Gloria Swanson are only a few of such legends to name, to whom at one point or another The Charlie grounds were believed to have been a home! In 2002, threatened by re-development, this historical landmark was acquired by Menachem Treivush and has since undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. By carefully preserving historically-scrutinizing details, incorporating the technology of today, and dedicating careful attention to detail, Mr. Treivush has rapidly built up The Charlie into the unique establishment that it is today! Since re-opening to the public in 2008, The Charlie has become known as The Hidden Gem of the legendary West Hollywood!

Neighborhood
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.

This was our second time to stay here.. and honestly, I think this is going to be our LA hotel whenever we visit. This charming throwback Inn whisks you back to a romantic bygone era and at the same time lavishes you with modern luxury. The cleanliness is impeccable. The service is spot on. We felt so pampered - We did not want to leave!

The Charlie is a magical spot. The neighborhood is perfect for walking plus you have restaurants and shopping. You have your own beautiful flat in the middle of West Hollywood. It is super clean, quiet and secluded. They have fabulous TVs with great cable. My only regret is that we did not find the Charlie earlier!! A special thanks to Kayse, the GM, who made us feel so welcome and safe during these uncertain times. Thank you, thank you for the terrific hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Charlie. The room was over the top throwback and fabulous! We enjoyed a take out (socially distant) outdoor dinner with our daughter and her husband on the wonderful sundeck. And Kayse, the Manager, was so helpful and consummate in her instructions and assistance during this bizarre COVID time. Hoping to visit again soon!

An adorable fairytale-like setting within a wonderful neighborhood. Such a peaceful and magical hotel. We were nervous about traveling during the pandemic, but the hotel was quiet, clean, and staff was very accommodating. We look forward to staying here again during future trips!

What a nice place. Isolated, quiet, clean, peaceful. Like my own private weho pied-a-terre. Some goofy hurdles in getting what is essentially your own house during this era of plagues and riots, but management was active in making sure the process went as smooth as possible.
