Booked a suite overlooking the pool for a bachelorette special occasion - room next to us couldn’t manage their dogs - their patio had dog pads across the balcony with feces on the period floor and on the pads. Smell was so bad we couldn’t even enjoy the patio and eventually the pads ended up flying off the balcony into the roof. So gross and unsanitary - hotel was at full capacity and they couldn’t do anything about it. They ended up moving the people across the hall but then the dog pads flooded and stunk up the hall way.

Thank you for staying with as well as taking the time to write us a review. We do appreciate your point of view. I am truly sorry for the experience you and your party had during the stay. We can only do so much with other guests, if they are not breaking any hotel rules, or laws. We are a pet friendly hotel, and unfortunate situations occur. Please forgive us for the issues. I hope all other parts of the bachelorette were fun and enjoyable. Have a terrific weekend.

We do not agree with comments of people saying the hotel is old, sky bar is disturbing the stay of hotel residents, etc. The hotel is well maintained, room was renovated and spacious with good city view, we were On the last and 12th floor. Swimming pool close at 6 pm (but you can still be in the water a bit after, no worries) as the skybar welcomes West Hollywood nights with beautiful people and cars (dress code apply even for resident). Valet service excellent and no restaurant during our stay but many options in the surrounding. You have to ask the front desk for ice, room servicing but this is explained when checking in. We enjoyed being in sunset boulevard , riding Beverly Hills and the comfort of the location. If you plan to stay for the weekend, just be careful the skybar can be out of control if you stay on the pool side… stay on city side, high level floor and enjoy the quiet air conditioning at night.

Overall really disappointing hotel. We have stayed multiple times in previous years and will never be returning. We were unable to use the pool area for 4/6 days - no one contacted in advance to let us know there construction works being done to the pool and Sky Bar area. We were met at the hotel with drilling/sanding noise every day and no access to the one amenity. No apologies, we were told day after day that ‘it will be open tomorrow’. We were able to use another hotel pool - which of course had no space due to 2 full hotels using it. Finally when the day came for it to open, it is also open to members of the public. Meaning you have all hotel guests and general admission with only maybe 20 places to sit outside. There is no priority given to guests who have paid thousands to stay there. The pool has a bouncer - you have to show your ID to go for a swim at 11:30am. The short man in a vest on the ‘door’ of the pool is rude and keen to let you know that the pool is a separate business from the hotel? Not sure why we pay an amenities charge then, and why it’s advertised as a hotel with a pool. The restaurant is the same - far more interested in the custom of people who aren’t staying in the hotel. We waiting 35 minutes to be sat, whilst being told to stand in a cramped bar walk way, to then be put on a table in the corner in a back room. The host did not crack a smile once and gave off very stuck up vibes. Clearly the restaurant is too good for Mondrian guests. The room was nice, cleaners and maintenance staff in the hotel are extremely friendly and good at their jobs. The valet are excellent. If you are looking to stay at this hotel for the pool and restaurant - don’t. I think hotel management need to decide what they are aiming to achieve here - if hotel guests are going to be treated this way whilst using the facilities, it would be best to separate them from the hotel so there isn’t a service standard expected. Overall we spent £4500 in the 6 days we stayed (funnily including a $30 per day amenities charge which we were told would be removed due to the pool being a building site). We have sent 4 emails since checkout and have had no response - the bad service continues! We will certainly be using that money somewhere with good service in the future, and recommend you do the same.

Hello, thank you for staying with us. I am terribly sorry for the experience you had during your stay. This is not the normal stay here at the Mondrian. We did have our pool closed for renovations, and with the rain, it added unforeseen days to the schedule. I will make sure the Guest amenity fee was taken off of your bill. Also, to allow our guest more opportunities to rest and enjoy our pool, we have changed our visitor policies for the pool. Now it is only hotel guest, or people purchasing tables or beds. We want to make it clear that our guests are our number 1 priority. I do thank you for this review, we have a better understanding of the guest experience. We hope to have you back in the future, with a better stay. Have a great week.

Honestly, this hotel should be subject to a class action lawsuit for selling places to sleep that are categorically not places to sleep. My room on the second floor faced the pool. I cannot even begin to tell you how loud the noise was, from 8:30pm until 2am. The best way to describe it is like trying to sleep in a club. I don’t even understand how the soundproofing could be so nonexistent - if you have read other reviews and are thinking “it can’t be that bad, surely” - I promise you, if you even like sleep a little bit you will be sorely disappointed. The noise was SO loud it was impossible to hear the TV in my room; it genuinely felt like there was no distinction between my room and the Sky Bar. Having barely had any sleep after not sleeping until after 2am when the music eventually stopped, I tried to head to the pool for a rest the next day. There weren’t any loungers available - I think there were 16 loungers in total for a hotel with hundreds of rooms. I paid for sleep and to be able to enjoy a nice pool and I received neither of the things I paid for - this was a serious disappointment. The hotel made no attempt to make it right.

Hello, and thank you for staying with us. We do appreciate your business. I am sorry for the lack of sleep and experience you had while here at The Mondrian. We do our best to place people away from the sky bar noise. We did not do that this time however. We would be more than happy to extend you a complimentary upgrade to a quiet room on a high floor away from the Sky bar next time you stay with us, as well as a thanks for giving us another try gift. Please reach out if and when you are looking to book again. Again, so sorry for all the noise. Have a great weekend.

This hotel USED TO BE a great place to stay. The booking: the website advertised a $50 per night cocktail promotion that they didn’t end up honoring saying they ran out of the promo. The website still has the promo. The room: worn. Loud AC fan starter that keeps waking you up. Construction work started at 8am on a Saturday in the immediate vicinity of our room. The service: I told front desk about these issues. The only answer I got is “should I print your bill”. Not even a sorry or here is a refund. I didn’t ask for a refund. But it should have been offered. Or at least a sorry should’ve been said.

Hello, we want to thank you for staying with us. We appreciate your business. I am so sorry to hear your stay was not the normal amazing Mondrian experience it should have been. I checked into the rate you booked, and you rate included the valet, but no $50 F&B credit. I am so sorry about the miscommunication. I did see the few charges from SkyBar and adjusted the $51.54 off of the bill. An apology should have been given upon check out. We look forward to welcoming you and your dogs back to the Mondrian in the future. Have a great day.

Do not waste your money here. The Hotel is stylish but the service was lacking. The hotel is extremely noisy until 1 or 2 in the morning. The rooms next to mine had loud and disrespectful guests and security did little to quiet them down. The rooms were clean and well appointed but were nothing special. The restaurant was closed and the whole experience was very disappointing The LA vibe is present but not welcome. Be aware of very high taxes as well as a resort fee. it is almost $35.00 per night! The fees were not explained at check in and on top of that there was another outrageous fee called a destination fee of over $11.00 California is a wreck. When I later discovered these fees and issues with the stay, they were dismissive and said you should have known. Management is apathetic. Skip this stylish disaster.

This is cool hotel. We were upgraded to a studio which was quite big. A lovely, bright room. Good shower, comfy bed, nice staff. Reasonably priced. There is a bit of noise from the restaurant / bar, I was on the 2nd floor and looked over the restaurant but this didn't bother me at all. The hotel is really well situated. I would definitely stay here again. The only "negatives" I could comment on are there were no slipper sent he room (I don't like walking round hotel rooms in bare feet !) and the shower just had a window in to the bedroom which is fine if you're a couple sharing a room, but not so cool if you're just friends sharing a room. These are not big issues, however. The rooms has a very good coffee machine which I really appreciate. I recommend this hotel highly.

I have difficulty from the day I checked in. the Mondrian need to better trained their staff. Guest experience & service comes before anything. I was staying for a total of 30 room nights between 3 rooms. I was overcharged for pre authorization by $2000 on one of the rooms. And simple things like understanding what the charges are or how much outstanding I have, have always been an impossible task and manager always have to come in and assist. Worst experience I have was checking out, after multiple mistakes. I dropped by to check on my billing but as usual the front desk staff seems to be having difficulty himself explaining about the charges. I requested for a manager, and when he comes out you noticed how he speaks to you that he had a preset assumption that I’m just being difficult. And in fact they did overcharged another $400 on a different room for preauthorization. And he’s very adamant and defensive when I asked him ‘why’. He just kept on saying that it wasn’t done by him and it’s not his fault. That’s when I felt, for a luxury boutique hotel such as The Mondrian. The last thing you could do was trying to place the blame somewhere else, whoever works in a hotel, they represent the hotel and it is not right to just say “ It wasn’t me”. On top of that they have Poor communication between themselves, from room cleaning to late checkout. My wife was called to checkout when we had a prior arrangements with the manager for a late checkout. An unfortunate end to what otherwise would be a good located hotel and a decent room. I won’t be coming back. Fyi, the bellman and Valet have always been wonderful.

Honestly this hotel should change their management style. It's ridiculous, after making a prepaid reservation they haven't taken the money from my card, surprisingly a few hours before arriving at the hotel they cancel my reservation and stated that my card was declined without sending an email to request a method of payment or at least confirm my arrival for 9 nights!! After an email exchange with the front office, I provided my bank card and surprisingly they increased the rate from the initial. After checking the 3rd parties websites the rate was cheaper than the one they try to overcharge me. On my arrival at the hotel, no apologies extend or even trying to amend the rate since this is a long stay and direct booking. This hotel has a lot of potential but with this management is not going far - AVOID!!!
