Pros: - Cute rooftop with pool (tho it's very small so go early or off hours) - Very good breakfast food - very pricey though.. but that's hotels in general - Great location Cons: - BLACK MOLD in bathroom/tub - this was seriously concerning and should be immediately addressed in all rooms. - Outdated rooms in general in desperate need of renovation - it all needs updates, it looks dated and unkept to be honest, and not in a chic way. - Service to the rooms was bad - My room was stocked with all decaf pods and hot chocolate, when I called to ask for caff they said they were out.. they did offer to sell me coffee, but we ended up having to leave to make our dinner.. seems petty but these are the minor details you're paying premium for.. - Service in general was slow. they need more staff. The check-in process was extremely slow and i was put on hold multiple times when calling down to the front desk staff. - The property also really leans into their "circusy" theme, which I'm all about a bohemian vibe but blasting "Pure Imagination" at my brunch hour misses the creative mark. It came across as annoying, not thought-provoking. In short, I was excited for a stay at what I recalled was a pretty cute hotel at one point in time, but now it feels like they're cutting corners..…
My stay last weekend was amazing - starting with a warm greeting from the valet staff outside, everything flowed beautifully throughout. Stepping into the room, it felt like being in Paris, with great accent pieces and very comfortable furniture. There were lots of "extras" on-hand, from snacks and beverages, and a well-stocked minibar. The rooftop pool area was a must - the oversized lounges were just as welcoming as the staff. Bursting with sunshine, it was great to catch up with old friends who were visiting, as well as make new friends among the other guests. This is where the hedonism part comes in - but you'll have to experience that yourself when you visit! Thanks to Thomas at Reception and George who took care of my friends and I while dining on the rooftop last night, for their excellent service!…
Everything from the painted telephone pole and stained glass outside to the details in each room was fabulous, whimsical, charming and delightful. The staff is attentive, kind, helpful and wonderful. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to have a fun time in a non-chain high-rise in Hollywood.
Unfortunately, I have to downgrade the review as the hotel made countless errors during my stay. Much of the facilities in my room didn't work (TV, air-con, fridge) and the noise levels next door made sleep tricky. There was a bunch of other unnecessary errors on the stay as well - simple staff that needn't have happened - and even the staff admitted the state of renovation needed was obvious. This could be a really nice (and really unique) hotel, but on this occasion it failed at the first.
This is a one star hotel. Even half a star. Never go there. Management and staff are completely incompetent and inhumane. They are all interested only in money, they do not need anything else. They have a hard time with conscience. I would like to wish this hotel all the very worst. Thanks to all.
Lovely small hotel in West Hollywood with warm hospitality and nice rooms. The staff is terrific, rooms are very nice but could use a little updating. Shower was excellent with great water pressure. Roof deck and pool are lovely and great for relaxing during the day. I highly recommend this hotel!
In a nutshell, probably the best time that I've had in LA of all the times that I've visited. The staff at Petit Ermitage are extremely kind, accommodating, and attentive. Really great ambience that is luxurious but also classy. The rooms are spacious, beautifully ornate, and most importantly incredibly comfortable. I slept like a baby in the beds. Perhaps the best part though is the location. Right in the center of the city, super easy access to some of the best attractions in LA.
I had an absolutely marvelous time staying at this hotel. It is so quirky and interesting, and I felt that every single day I stayed here, I discovered something new about it. The amenities are absolutely unreal, and they were always so helpful with getting me anything that I needed. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it.
Everything about the Petit Ermitage is well curated and quite fun! The rooftop is absolutely lovely, even in January! I found it hard sometimes to leave the rooftop to explore LA when I had free time, it’s that nice up there!
From the moment you first approach the entrance to the Petit Ermitage, the best hotel experience greets you. The decorations welcome you and less you to an extremely friendly and eager hotel staff. As you walk to the room, the hallways are artsy and like nothing I have ever seen before. Then once you get to the room, you’ll find how clean, maintained and luxurious the rooms are. The beds are quite comfortable and the room had a fireplace for ambience. Eventually, you’ll find your way to the rooftop where a whole new experience awaits you. I sat by the pool on a plush pool bed and then a plethora of staff came to help my needs. One brought a great big blanket and another brought a drink. Then with the great music playing in the background with incredible views of the hills and the city. It was paradise. Highly, highly recommend. Will come here again!!…
