Early this month, I reserved a few nights while my apartment was under construction. Just before I checked in, I had a bad vertigo episode and was having trouble walking. Yasmin Lopez checked me in right away and then helped me to the room. She was equally kind throughout my stay (though I regained balance by the next day). Not to denigrate anyone else - everyone was courteous and friendly. But Yasmin went out of her way to be kind, when I was feeling off-balance, and it made a difference. My stay was great otherwise, too. If I am ever asked to recommend a hotel (or need to go to one), The Chamberlain will be my recommendation. Rooms are great suite-types, as is the rooftop pool. 10 out of 10.
We stayed here for one night. The hotel is a very nice boutique hotel. The decor is eye catching throughout. Our room was large and had ample space. The rooftop pool and bar had great views of LA. The location is very good too. Walkable area, 15-20 minute walk to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.
First off, the hotel is in such a convenient location in West Hollywood, it was perfect (and minutes walk from our favourite wine bar - V Wine Room). We had chosen a top floor king suite with balcony and we were happy with the room choice. It was incredibly spacious with nice touches like a study nook and a fireplace. The room was very well kept although there were some general maintenance issues. One of the two lifts was out of order the entire stay, the fly wire screen on the balcony door was constantly jammed and eventually came off the rails and the bathroom had a musty/sewerage smell at times. I appreciate it is an older property that has been refurbished, so maintenance issues are understandable. There was a wine time down in the bar/restaurant at 5-6pm nightly which was a nice touch. To detract from that, a nightly resort fee is charged which seems exorbitant given the size of the hotel and limited inclusions. Breakfast at the restaurant was fine and staff throughout were pleasant. Overall, we were really pleased with our stay minus a few small misgivings.…
This was our first time visiting Los Angeles. Since arriving to the Chamberlin West Hollywood hotel, our experience surpassed our expectations. The customer service at this hotel was incredible! Specifically, our interaction with front desk agent, Yasmin. She showed exemplary customer service and professionalism. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future. The Chamberlin has beautiful, clean and spacious rooms. It’s location is super convenient and near lots of shops and restaurants. Recommend 10/10!
I was assisted at check-in by Ramesh who provided me with a warm welcome and wonderful suggestions for dining. Ramesh was accommodating and kind. This was a terrific introduction and representation for my stay here at the Chamberlain!
I was here on a business stay and I wanted to switch it up from my usual hotel choice. I am happy to say that I will be coming more often as the service I received was by far the best experience I've had on a work trip. I want to give a huge shoutout to Ramesh who was at the front desk and helped me with my service request with diligence. The way he handled my problem as well as his excellent customer service was a refreshing experience compared to the minimal/delayed service I would expect to receive during late hours. Based on his determination to make sure I was accommodated during my stay , I could see him in a lead role if he is not one already. My room and the amenities I saw were great and I am looking forward to staying here again.
The Chamberlain has an unbeatable combination of location, amenities, it factor, and very reasonable price. It’s perfect for gay travelers who want to walk to all the gay bars in Weho but stay in a stylish, quiet oasis. Don’t miss the beautiful rooftop pool with the cutest, friendliest bartender in town, or the delicious breakfast in the restaurant. I’ve stayed here many times and will continue to.
This was one of our most recent hotel experiences during Covid. For our first vacation away from home since last year, we chose Chamberlain West since it was in the same hotel group as the Montrose Hotel (past visits). We like this area of West Hollywood and this seemed like a safer choice as could be for a hotel. The location and residential feel of this hotel is perhaps the better aspects if one is looking for a "hideaway" type of hotel feel. The area is quiet, safe and within walking distance to several decent restaurants, stores, on both Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd, two well known major streets. The hotel itself inside has a rather modern/eclectic, boutique like feel. When you evaluate it based on standard hotel features and services, it does not hold up well in a number of aspects, for us. I should say that service recovery is great there and the staff were more than hospitable and understanding with issues that would come up during our stay. I can't say enough about that aspect. Sadly, the interaction seemed to be that the front service was always reactive to issues. There was nothing particularly negative about our hotel room layout. Again, we selected the hotel for its location and proximity to our scheduled activities near and far from there. For us, we just look for no surprises. Unfortunately, we ran into a number of room cleaning issues like room not being cleaned upon our return upon request. Towels weren't always refreshed, etc. That said, when we spoke with staff, the problem was quickly resolved. Valet Parking was also another major issue. At this hotel, it doesn't mean what you might think it means based on other hotels. Upon arrival, we learned that the $48.00 per night fee means you park your own car into the garage and drive it out yourself. The "valet" is a garage parking attendant who stays in the garage. Also, typically our car was within eyesight most times upon entering the garage. They do have a parking lounge area which is better than just a booth. Once we brought this to the hotel front's attention, they were very nice to address this problem. They also have what they call an "urban amenities fee" for items such as nightly sparkling hour, "enhanced" WIFI (whatever that means), pool access, daily newspaper, luggage storage, etc. The list goes on and on. Now, it's all spelled out on their website but you have to look for that. Most of these items are usually part of the room rate. To add insult to injury, we either weren't told about these items, or never got them to begin with during our stay. Again, service recovery made up for this. Finally, their restaurant was not appealing at all. The space is small, uninviting, and really not much available during our stay. Next time, we would stay at a different hotel in that area. However, it is in a decent neighborhood, and walkable to several stores, restaurants, etc.…
Hotel is beautiful - but the service is even better. After so much hassle from travel, Ramesh at the front desk took care of me. He got me settled, and made sure I got food (late at night). Very much appreciated!
Easy reservation system, and I recommend calling directly, professional and upbeat staff, shout out to Claudia, Jasmine and Linda, smooth check-in, GREAT spacious rooms, all nestled in the heart of West Hollywood. I live in the neighborhood and have family and friends stay there. My Mom was the most recent visitor, and she LOVES being at the Chamberlain. We had a lovely, relaxed weekend, mostly in the rooms.
