Terrific help from Jeanne and Christine. An absolute jem of a hotel! Every detail is designed to make the visitor comfortable. The rooms are very comfortable and interesting. I will definitely be returning for another visit.

Having misjudged the driving time from San Francisco, we arrived after 9pm, much later than we had said, and found the hotel closed down for the night and no bell. Nevertheless, we managed to raise Jeanne who welcomed us warmly. Room 7 isn't spacious, but it was very comfortable, cool and quiet. We stayed 3 nights. Using the $5 vouchers,... More

If you are going to stay in Gold Mine Country then why not stay in a hotel that helps you feel like you've step back into heart of that time. This hotel has so much charm of yesteryear. First though, the hospitality. My husband I were welcomed by the lady working in the Emporium (a wonderful shop to pick up... More

This was a really lovely place to stay. Jeanne and Brian Muir are lovely people and have made their hotel exceptional. Jeanne is the driving force and a past-master (mistress?) in hospitality; welcoming all her guests in person and showing them around the parlour and elsewhere. The rooms are truly lovely, we were lucky enough to stay in two of... More

We have traveled throughout the US, Europe, and China and stayed in many a four and five star hotel. The Weaverville Hotel ranks with the best of them. Kora's friendly and helpful reservation service and owner Jeanne's warm welcome got us off to a wonderful start. Our front room overlooking the bandstand was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The claw footed... More

Wow! You have definitely made our day. Thank you so much for the glowing review. It is incentive for us to not rest on our laurels but to keep trying to provide real hospitality in our ever more stressful and hurried world. Thank you for your kind words. May they return to you at every turn of the road. More

I rarely give out an excellent rating, but this hotel easily rates one. We hadn't booked in advance, but our welcome was warm and inviting. The rooms were great, so well thought out with travelers in mind. Full Victorian, but with more than enough modern touches to make our stay a delight. Jeanne, the owner, had thought of pretty- much... More

A few months ago, my husband and I planned an overnight visit at the Weaverville Hotel with a dear friend. Upon check-in, the charm of its innkeepers and their welcoming staff, turned our one night stay into three of the most delightful vacation days we have ever enjoyed. Nothing here has been overlooked. Both rooms were beautifully decorated with antiques.... More

This is a very well run establishment and a hands on touch. The owners Jeanne and Brian are doing an excellent job with their establishment. You will not be disappointed by staying here. It is in close proximity to all in downtown. The newly opened La Grange restaurant across the street was very good.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel, originally built in 1861, was last rebuilt in 1880 after burning to the ground. We have painstakingly restored it to the original high ceilings and wood floors, attempting to recapture as much of the original charm as possible. Private bath with shower in all rooms, most also have claw-foot tubs with bubble bath. All rooms are air conditioned with ceiling fans; most also have gas log fireplaces, a welcome feature during our colder months. Prime retail therapy is to be had in our great little Emporium downstairs where everything from sterling silver jewelry to women's clothing to great gift items can be found. The emporium is open every day, 9am till 6pm except Sundays, 10am-6pm. That's every day of the year! ... more   less
