My mom and I stayed at the Red Hill Motel last weekend. The new owner, Heidi, and her family are wonderful. They were attentive and hospitable. The Red Hill is quaint with lots of tchotchkes and vintage decor through out the cabin property. It is within walking distance to historic downtown Weaverville. We'd stay here again if we come back into town.

We have stayed at the Red Hill before, but this experience was so bad, we won't be back. It started off with wearing a mask to enter the office to register.Patti says to us "You don't need a mask here". I ask, "are you vaccinated?" "No and she won't be." Next we notice the maids don't have masks. pin entering our "quaint room", it appears fairly clean. However when I went to get int the bed, there was what appeared to be dog hair and very stained sheets on the bed. It was gross. I didn't sleep. Others with us said their sheets smelled like dog urine, and another said there were no curtains on the windows. It is time for Patti to retire and soon to do better here.

Response from Heidi Wood, Owner at Red Hill Motel
Responded Dec 28, 2021
My apologies for your horrible experience at the Red Hill Motel. My mother, Patty, has since passed away. Unbeknownst to everyone, she had breast cancer. She never told us, nor did she want to seek treatment. When I came back to the Red Hill I was in complete shock. It was in a horrible state. My name is Heidi and I will be taking ownership from here on out. I have much work to put into the property, and I plan on implementing many exciting changes. Should you happen to be this way in the spring or summer of 2022, I would ask that you give us another chance. Hopefully, you won’t be disappointed.

There were some pretty sketchy people there, they seemed to be permanent residents. Wish we had seen the place better during the day. The manager seems to be ok with it, we were just glad our car didn't get broken into.

Response from Heidi Wood, Owner at Red Hill Motel
Responded Dec 28, 2021
Thank you for your honest review. My name is Heidi, and I am the new owner of the Red Hill Motel. My mother, Patty, the previous owner, has since passed away. When I arrived at the Red Hill, I was shocked. You couldn’t have been more spot on with your review. I immediately started cleaning this place up. I have exciting plans in store for the future. A lot of changes will be made. Should you return to town in the spring of 2022, or after, please stop by and give us another try. The Red Hill Motel will be fully restored to its original state, plus new and exciting features will be implemented.

Small cabins with a great old time feel. Walking distance to a great town. Great spot to gather with a group. Some kitchens come with a kitchen. This not a trendy motel, but if you grew up in a simpler time your'll love this spot.

We just needed a bed for the night, nothing fancy and pulled into the Red Hill thinking it would fill the bill. The supergirl costume in the phone booth by the office convinced us we were in the right place. The owner was very friendly and encouraged us to view the rooms, which were clean with comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower. There was a TV and some of the rooms had fridges and microwaves although we opted for the one without--we liked the layout and the decor better. It took awhile, but eventually it got cool (it was really hot out.) Just what we needed and a real bargain price. There was wi-fi although it was slow. Better than some more expensive places that lie about it.

This is a plain-Jane roadside motel comprised of little cabins on a circular drive. It is spotlessly clean, quiet and inexpensive. I would stay there again without question. It is a short walk to restaurants in this little town. Loved it.

Stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed the total setting and atmosphere. Older but very well maintained facility. Warm welcome and recommendations on where to eat and things to do. A/C also which was needed the day we arrived. Highly recommend staying here for something different and quiet. Also check out the phone booth. Loved it.

This is an older, but very well maintained lodging. I stayed two nights. The owner is super nice and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. They don't serve breakfast, but its a very short walk to cafe's in town. Each cabin has covered parking. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the neighborhood. There were deer present not he property in the morning and evening.

I love staying at well maintained older motor courts - this facility is a find! The proprietor is very friendly, welcoming you warmly and offering a great dinner recommendation upon request (La Grange Cafe). I had a quaint cabin with a car port to park my motorcycle. The facilities are well maintained, but a little worn. It is located within an easy walk to the downtown area for dinner. You can't get a better place to stay for twice the price. I plan on staying at Red Hill Motel the next time I'm in the area.

What a great find at a great price. The cabins are well layed out with plenty of space and full bathrooms. There is A/C . The owner is a very accommodating lady. The lay out of the property lends itself to plenty of privacy as well.
