My mom and I stayed at the Red Hill Motel last weekend. The new owner, Heidi, and her family are wonderful. They were attentive and hospitable. The Red Hill is quaint with lots of tchotchkes and vintage decor through out the cabin property. It is within walking distance to historic downtown Weaverville. We'd stay here again if we come back into town.

I stayed here for two days before a Sierra Club outing in the Trinity Alps wilderness. I stayed in No. 8 which had a nice small kitchen. It was clean and quiet. I saw deer eating apples in the front yard. Near enough to walk to store, and old town. Across the street from the ranger station.

The owner was very helpful.

The water pressure in the shower was great!

I was going from the Bay area to a wedding in Willow Creek and could not make the round-trip in a day. I wanted something fairly close and inexpensive and this fit the bill. It cost $36 and was perfectly adequate for my needs. The room was clean and the motel was well located for my needs. Very basic but that is all I needed--think Motel 6 in the woods. The location was lovely and there were deer in the parking lot when I got up to leave. Far better than camping, certainly not the Ritz.

We have stayed at the Red Hill before, but this experience was so bad, we won't be back. It started off with wearing a mask to enter the office to register.Patti says to us "You don't need a mask here". I ask, "are you vaccinated?" "No and she won't be." Next we notice the maids don't have masks. pin entering our "quaint room", it appears fairly clean. However when I went to get int the bed, there was what appeared to be dog hair and very stained sheets on the bed. It was gross. I didn't sleep. Others with us said their sheets smelled like dog urine, and another said there were no curtains on the windows. It is time for Patti to retire and soon to do better here.

Response from Heidi Wood, Owner at Red Hill Motel
Responded Dec 28, 2021
My apologies for your horrible experience at the Red Hill Motel. My mother, Patty, has since passed away. Unbeknownst to everyone, she had breast cancer. She never told us, nor did she want to seek treatment. When I came back to the Red Hill I was in complete shock. It was in a horrible state. My name is Heidi and I will be taking ownership from here on out. I have much work to put into the property, and I plan on implementing many exciting changes. Should you happen to be this way in the spring or summer of 2022, I would ask that you give us another chance. Hopefully, you won’t be disappointed.

While this motel was in a quiet location, staying in the room was noisy. The bathroom and exterior doors stuck, making loud noises when they did open. The plumbing and bed were noisy too. I found several long hairs in the sink when we first checked in. It was cheap at 55 dollars a night. Wish I'd paid a little more and stayed at a maintained facility

If you want newer furnishings and appliances, pay more and stay somewhere else. We picked the Red Hill because they were cat friendly -- probably the only one in the county. We were there two nights. The Red Hill is a good value.

You won't find a jacuzzi, or even a pool. But it's clean as a whistle, and very, very reasonable. Nice and quiet, off the main road, with a chair on the porch to enjoy the evening or morning air. Easily the best deal in town.

Whenever I visit the Trinity Alps, I have stayed here for about 18 years. In all that time the price remains the same. After a 4 hour hot drive, I look forward to kicking back in the 1950s metal lawn chairs and enjoy the pine scented fresh air and quiet natural setting. And all the charms of "downtown" Weaverville are seconds away. Good food, nice people, and interesting history. The individual cabins are clean, cozy, and quiet and the resident-owner is helpful. Most summer nights are cool enough to have the windows open and you hear crickets not traffic or air conditioners.

We were in Weaverville for their annual car show and at 57.00 a night we decided to give this motel a shot. Quaint and rustic is a good description of this property. Most units are cabins, some with kitchenettes and carports. The owners are friendly and though older, the units are clean. Our unit (cabin #2)had AC, 2 double beds, walk in shower, TV, built in closet and desk nooks,no coffee maker, just the basics. The walls in the units are finished in old school knotty pine. Its a short walk from the motel to the historic down town with boutique shops and restaurants. If your looking for the Hilton, this is not for you, but if your looking for friendly, clean, cheap lodging look no further.

The Red Hill Motel is what it is. If you expect the Hyatt or a hotel of that sort then you will be disappointed. The motel is nice for Weaverville and is very clean.
