I would not recommend. The staff is not friendly or welcoming. We had a handful of issues on our first night here and decided to transfer hotels the next morning. Management was not any help in resolving the issues or compensating us for the inconvenience. The most alarming part, is that I tried to get in touch with the manager multiple times, he would not answer or return my phone calls. When I went to the front desk, I spoke to Erik(?) and he told me that the manager was not available. Come to find out... ERIK is the manager?! Get it together Holiday Inn. Oh, and the location isn't very welcoming, it's in a very industrial (sort of run down) area with loud businesses surrounding it (mechanics and such).

I have stayed in this hotel before and several weeks ago booked it for an overnight stay to break up a long drive. I purposely booked it through the hotel (RESERVATIONS.COM) Have had a few bad experiences using discounted hotel reservation sites. I live in Southern California near a spreading wildfire. Not a good time to leave home! I just called to cancel the reservation. A full 80 hours before checkin. The cancellation policy I could find online requested 72 hours (good luck trying to reach a human at this place.) I spoke to someone at what appeared to be a call center, not connected to the hotel. Even though the stated online promise was to cancel before 72 hours, I was told that the room was discounted so no reservation. No discounted room at all. And no refund. Be very careful with this place and any hotel that uses RESERVATIONS.COM. You will be very dissatisfied with the lack of service and honesty.

This hotel is not up to the standards I have come to expect from Holiday Inn. During my 8 night stay I changed rooms 3 times. First room had ants, Next, the air conditioner developed a horrid smell during the first night. In the morning, Maintenance heavily sprayed the unit and the room with freshener. I opened the patio door to air the room from the freshener but during the night the horrid smell returned. Room number 3 was clean and I finished my stay. This is a huge 2 story hotel with an underground parking garage. First room was in the back on 2nd floor. Elevator was set so that the door would stay open so that a room key was not needed to access all rooms of the hotel for my first 3 nights /Homeless are visible on streets In a working business area. I have always trusted this hotel chain for a clean, safe room as I usually travel by myself but this stay has changed my opinion of Holiday Inn Hotels.

We stayed one night in July 2020. Our room was a 2 double bed room. The hotel had been recently renovated to Holiday Inn Express's True Blue style. The outside, entrance and check in area were all clean and bright. The check in was fine and went quickly. Our room was very clean. It included a small refrigerator and microwave. The desk was built into the wall, included an office chair and had plenty of space for all our stuff. The wall over the desk had an awesome technology charging station that had 2 wall plug outlets, an HDMI port that I assume connected to the TV, an internet ethernet port and multiple USB ports. VERY convenient! Wireless internet was fast and had a good signal. The room included a large flat screen TV with plenty of channels along with a lounge chair near the window. The beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. A+ on the beds! The room was very quiet and the shades blocked about 95 percent of any outside light. Our room overlooked the courtyard pool area which was nicely landscaped. My only complaint was breakfast or lack thereof. I understand during this time under Covid-19 conditions that a typical breakfast with sit down tables can't be done. Every hotel we've stayed at has had hot food that you take back to your room. This hotel only offered prepackaged brown bag "breakfast". It came with a tiny carton of orange-pineapple juice, an apple, a light yogurt and a small half frozen Danish. It was maybe a $1-$2 "breakfast". It should be made very clear what kind of breakfast you're providing and not charge us the typical rate you'd pay during normal times when a full hot breakfast is provided. We ended up buying breakfast after we checked out. Breakfast aside, the hotel was nice, it was in a safe area and we would stay there again if in the area.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for yet another time. Chose here as a first stop on our road trip up from san diego as we were going to see some music and this was close to the venue. Easy to get to off of freeway w/ a few parking spaces (5-6?) in front w/ another parking garage under hotel. Front desk was friendly and welcomed us as an inn member (passed on snacks) and told us they now charge for parking in the garage ($10 - what??). (Note - do not park on road alongside parking garage - you will get ticketed or towed). It is not located in the WC downtown area (which is why we chose it) but I believe they have a shuttle that will take you there to the restaurants, shops etc. There are some fast food restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. After driving all day & checking in, we decided to bail on the music and go instead to one of our favorite restaurants in Berkeley. Hotel is close enough to walk to bart and hop on the train (was over driving for the day). Came back later that evening and settled into our room. It was your basic holiday inn but clean, quiet and comfortable. Had a little lounge in the lobby area if you are interested. Also a pool and fitness center - we did not use. Bed was comfortable and we got a good sleep. Breakfast buffet in the morning - not much for vegan diet but that was ok - we had fruit and some tea. And then we were on our way. Worked out perfect for us as a one night stop to begin our road trip up north. If you are in the area, this place is good for the price, service, quiet and cleanliness. We would stay again if we are in area - and you should too!
