We frequently visit the Mother Lode area and have found that this restaurant in the tiny town of Volcano, can compete in taste and presentation to any very nice restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. The menu is not large but everything is fresh and delicious. The Norwegian salmon is one of the best I have had and the creative...

I made reservations at the Inn for my husband's 82nd birthday not noticing that the restaurant was closed on Wednesdays. This is my husband's favorite hamburger spot so he was initially disappointed. Then we received a call that Micah was coming in to cook for us...what a surprise and a joy. We were greeted warmly with coffee, iced tea or...

We have stayed here a number of times and will continue to make it our go to spot for launching off on hiking or ski excursions in the Kirkwood area. We love checking in and nibbling on one of their many delicious home baked pastries, their complimentary glass of wine, and their delicious gourmet breakfasts in the morning. We love...

Great Inn!! 4 rooms, friendly staff, good food and bar. We spent 2 nights here and loved it. Our room had a King bed, balcony, and oversized soaking tub. Home cooked breakfast were fantastic sitting by the fireplace on a rainy morning.

Last week we paid our first visit to the Union Inn in Volcano, CA - it was excellent and we will definitely return. This is an old hotel from late 1800's that has been renovated and it is well worth a visit and I would highly recommend it as a couples getaway. We had booked the largest of the 5...

We stopped for lunch and found it to be a nice Inn and Pub with pretty good food. Their appetizers are so big, they can make a meal themselves. We ordered two along with our meal and didn't even come close to finishing. Atmosphere is rustic and servers were good. Only problem was how long it took to order and...

We booked a room for 3 nights to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Its a very small hotel, just 4 rooms above a restaurant and pub. We booked one of the king rooms, the Limon and it was quite spacious with 2 doors opening out on to the balcony and a good sized bathroom with claw footed tub and separate shower....

What an amazing place! I discovered it in the Back Roads of California travel book and could not be more pleased with the entire vacation. The town of Volcano is adorable and totally worth its own review, but, I’m here just to talk about the Volcano Union Inn & Pub, so here we go. Arrival was super easy. We parked...

Food and ambience, outstanding. We are familiar with the Inn and booked two nights for friends visiting from Seattle. Volcano Inn serves an excellent breakfast with large portions to all their overnight guests. Also provides coffee, tea, fruit and homemade pastries to guests to eat at their own leisure. The Inn is from the Gold Rush, well maintained, clean with...

Welcome to the Volcano Union Inn!How The West Was Won Fun!Take the WILD RIDE to Volcano to enjoy great food, friendly faces and comfortable lodgingThe Union Inn Hotel was built in 1880 by four itinerate French Canadians for $400.
