The lodge and its rooms do not look too bad, and the price seemed relatively reasonable, but we were highly disappointed with our stay. Many other guests on our floor were very noisy late into the night. I could hear people talking in the middle of the night despite wearing earplugs. Neither of us slept well due to the uncomfortable... More

Hotel was easy to access off I80. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were not there at the height of either summer or winter tourist seasons. There is ample parking. It's about a 5-10 min drive to Truckee center. Hotel breakfast was nothing special so we skipped it in favor of checking out a local diner. See review... More

Staff is friendly and welcoming and room was clean, although the room had a tired, well-used feel to it. Most disappointing was the breakfast the next morning, with below average coffee with a limited selection of choices that were also unappealing. Our room faced the road and I wish I had thought ahead to ask for the quiet, forested side.... More

We were given a lovely room with a view of the forest. Although the forest was quiet, Hiway 80's night traffic was audible but we still slept with the window open to the beautiful pine- scented air. The room was clean and nicely-appointed. The breakfast buffet was simple and ample with several good choices. We liked especially being out of... More

Truckee Donner Lodge has a very nice website, so perhaps my expectations were a bit high. The lodge itself has a beautiful exterior, and the interiors are clean though a little bit worn in spots (trim peeling off the closet shelf, bathroom faucet was loose, carpet unraveling). A light, decent breakfast is provided. The lodge is located a short distance... More

A good price (for the area) was a factor in our choice to stay at TDL, but we'd choose it again based on the quality of the room and the convenient location, just off Highway 80 and immediately adjacent to Donnor Lake State Park. Our room was spacious and nicely appointed with a king bed, desk and reading chair. TV... More

Reasonable price for a touristy, seasonal small town. Overhead here is high. Low priced rooms with that in mind. Clean, looks nice. Gas station across the street. Beautiful Safeway grocery store about a mile east. Travelers are between Reno and Sacramento, don't have many convenient choices. Lake Tahoe is about an hour south, offers Casino gambling on the Nevada, east... More

Dinner at Tahoe Donner Lodge was great. We sat outside weather perfect and so was the service. Started with macaroni with bacon which we all shared. Main course was fettuccine with meat sauce for three of us, one person had scallops, and another fish. All great highly recommend.

The outside of this hotel is beautiful, as is the lobby. The rooms on the other hand were clean but could use a little tender loving care. It looks like they have updated some of the things. Our bathtub had grayish black in the caulking. When I mentioned it to Adam at the front desk as possible black mold he... More

VERY disapointed by this gloomy, unfriendly hotel that does NOT offer any breakfast on the morning. There is filter coffee in the rooms but the closest restaurant / breakfast places is 8 miles away. The room was jut ok clean, the curtains filled with holes and the whole place needs a serious renovation. Hard to believe considering that it gets... More
