stayed here for a week in August 2020. prior to booking i called an agent and asked if the village was open, if the shops and restaurants were open (of course for take out). I wasn't going to show up if there was absolutely nothing to do there. I was told the village was open with social distancing guidelines in place. so i booked the trip. The village was NOT open. The housekeepers did not visit during our stay (covid problems), understandable. But at no time during the 7 days did anyone reach out or call us to ask if we needed anything. No signs anywhere telling us what to do with the garbage bins in our room, no information about where to get more toilet paper, or towels, or anything. and to top it off - there was construction right outside our window every. single. morning. men and women on cranes directly*outside our window. felt like i was an exhibit in a zoo. The construction noise included, but was not limited to: drilling, banging, hammering, yelling, and it began at 8am every single morning. no room change was offered. the only explanation we received was 'sorry we thought the construction would be finished by now. heres 15% off your next stay'. ....needless to say, there will not be a next stay with Iron Horse.

I was fooled by all the positive reviews.i booked room and was given junior studio in catmount. No room does not come with balcony or jacuzzi as stated by many and as advertised . Its a small room like den and decent bathroom. In name of kitchen there was 1 feet table between room N kitchen and 2 gas stove. Customer service is bad as front desk was unable to give proper direction to route or building . Its far from main lake tahoe . About an 1 hour or so . There are no refund or credit or reservation desk courtesy to offer credit if in case u cancel reservation due to any reason. They asked to informed them 48 hours before. Like emergeny will tell me 48 hours before coming and let you know to cancel plan Save your money and book somewhere else !!! From.very unsatisfied customer who will never book again at tahoe.mountain lodge

So we came during COVID, but I really loved exploring the place in peace and quiet during the week. The views were spectacular. I LOVED the jacuzzi tub in the master. This is a private condo to rent, so no you don't have a concierge desk or anything like at a hotel, but that was fine with us. Staff is all too helpful to answer questions for you about the area. The only bummer was a lot of shops were closed because of Covid. We went to the grocery store about 8 miles away and made most of her food in the room. They had everything here including a blender to make my morning smoothies. Our 12 year old, had so much fun in a room all to herself, she never wanted to come out. Literally! She stayed in there all day till we went to the pool. Great WIFI here. I had to work while here and had to do an all training call using a VPN which is a known bandwidth hog and it worked better than any other hotel we have ever been to. My husband was also very impressed with the sound system here. He is a bit of a music and sound system snob. We did have to make reservations at the pool, but did not have any problems getting the times we wanted. Took a ride up the gondola to explore a bit by the Ritz. Beautiful views up there. My only critique would be the kitchen cabinets are too high for someone who is short. If my husband did not travel with me, I would have had to request a step ladder to get the wine glasses at the top or some other kitchen items. Nice pizza place in the village still open so we got wine one night and pizza there the next. Really good Mediterranean pizza. We will definitely be back.

We recently returned from a 5 night stay at Iron Horse North. Check in was a breeze! Our unit was clean and quiet, except for some construction noise on the Monday before we left. We had a two bedroom unit. Furnishings were all comfortable. Internet worked well. Kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook several of our meals. The only downside was the resort was mostly closed up. There were three restaurants that were open during out stay, Petra, Rubicon Pizza and a Mexican place. The Mexican restaurant was good, but only open 11-4 on weekdays. One of the weekend days it was closed due to a plumbing issue. Rubicon was great, but the menu is a little limited aside from pizza. Petra just wasn't our type of place. There was a general market open until 6pm, and a froyo place. I'm not sure how much of the closures were due to Covid or just summer in general. This was the end of a week + trip for us, and I liked that I was able to do some of my laundry before heading home! We would definitely return!

We had a family reunion at at iron horse for 4th of July. We had 312 south. The only thing I didn’t like was check-in at 5 ( although we were lucky and able to get in hours earlier) then check out is 10:00 AM. I should have booked an extra day. We had a great time. The condo is beautiful. Perfect for our family. We took the gondola right from the lodge up to the ritz Carlton we had dinner there.. the kids ran around and played it was so beautiful. We went back to Iron Horse lodge slept like babies the rooms are so quiet. The next day we swam in their beautiful pool then then went to kings beach Lake Tahoe on a old fashion paddle boat called Tahoe Gal for dinner and Fireworks. The next morning we went to the Truckee parade & And enjoyed the NorthStar village.. Love love love ..I highly recommend Iron Horse Lodge.

Hi 12345 Beth- Thank you, thank you for your wonderful review. So often it seems we only hear if something goes wrong, not when things go right. In any case, we're so glad you had a terrific visit-- it looks like you enjoyed all that The Village at Northstar & Lake Tahoe have to offer. How fun that you went on the Tahoe Gal, that is such a great experience. Please think of us again when your travels bring you back to Tahoe.
