We try to stay here as often as we can because it could not be any more family friendly with a theatre and a list of movies to watch in it a mile long, escape room, virtual reality and so many other activities. The rooms are great, so comfortable and find the staff to be very accommodating. We want to acknowledge Casey in the activities center for truly making all of the events with our kids even more fun. Can’t wait to come back!

Stay somewhere else. The front desk and Manager can care less about making your stay as pleasant as possible. Check in is 4:00 pm, we arrived at 4:30 pm and was told our villa was not ready. When we finally got to our villa, several things were missing that are provided.

We hadn't been to Tahoe during the summer in years, so were very much looking forward to a short getaway. Unbeknownst to us, Northstar turns into a mountain bikers paradise in the summer... so it was very crowded over the weekend with people, mountain bikers, etc. Add to this the global pandemic, and only 2 people or 1 family per elevator, and people dragging their bikes on/off elevators, the wait for the elevator was long (we were on the 5th floor and had kids so stairs weren't much of an option). Also many people weren't wearing masks on the elevator, which was very unsettling for us. The room was fine - basic kitchenware, beds comfortable. But carpet was stained and dirty, window coverings broken/non-operational, not enough towels. Most outlets were closed. We took the gondola up to the Ritz on Saturday night just to get a drink, only the outdoor restaurant was open which meant no bar service. There were tons of people everywhere. And again, most people weren't wearing masks on the gondolas either. For my money, sanity and safety I'd stay somewhere else next time.

We were here on a Monday night June 2020 and almost everything was closed. There is a small supermarket in the village that is open but nothing else. We were in a 2 bedroom condo which was very nice for the price. The kitchen is well stocked with everything for cooking but the food. Everything was very clean. The rooms were nice sized. The beds were not comfortable and I would bring your own pillow. The pillows are weirdly big. We could hear people walking around upstairs above us which made sleeping in impossible. Ask for the top floor. We enjoyed that the hotel seemed mostly empty but I would imagine it would be very loud during the busy season. Check out is at 10am, they said they would extend it only to 11. After that we were told it would be 150$/hour. I thought this was very early considering it was a Tuesday and the hotel seemed mostly empty. If you stay here you will definitely need a car to get to the lake and restaurants. Overall it was quite nice but the uncomfortable bed is a dealbreaker so we will probably stay somewhere else next time.

Stayed at The Welk two nights for my wife's birthday. Called in advance noting that it was her birthday and that we'd be traveling with our 1 year old. Upon arrival, there was no crib no high chair... No note, or gesture wishing my wife a Happy Birthday. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite (and paid $370+). Apparently room service is not included and is an extra fee (???). Hotel was almost empty, yet there was no late check out. Awful service for a "4 star" hotel.
