We came here in an RV and found the place dirty and overall poorly maintained. If you are familiar with KOA this won’t be the standard you are used to and we were really disappointed. Pool was so dirty we thought it was closed. Much of the external forniture was also dirty and we didn’t end up using much of it. Found the BBQ is an absolute mess. Tried to clean it but ended up using our own. Amaca was stained. Play area with toys scattered all around.
Canp is mot up to usual KOA standards. Staff is friendly, but amenities suffer. The fish cleaning stations hard to get near because of yellow jackets (meat bees ) swarming because the station was full of fish heads guts and ants, had not been cleaned for sometime. The bulk of the clientele seemed to be Quaders and off road vehicle types. Several large groups of them , noisy during the day but noisier at night. 10 p m quiet time was non existent on Fri 8-21, noise and partying well past midnight, no enforcement whatsoever. After the weekend the place was quiet again as most people departed. I will not stay here again
While beautifully treed, and high in the redwoods, this KOA campground was disappointing. It was filled to capacity. Showers and bathrooms were very limited due to capacity and COVID-19. Water pressure via hook-up was almost non-existent. Impossible to take a shower in one's RV, or even to wash dishes. We spoke to an employee who indicated that the water situation has been this way for years - they did not accommodate for the size of the property when installing water lines. Lake is walking distance (about 1/2 mile although it looks as though the campground is right on the lake) and available for water sports. No wifi or internet in the campground and a very week signal at the office. Not practical for work or long communications. We were only here for a night on our way south, but I am glad we did not have to stay longer.…
Cabin was mostly clean. The walls and light switches throughout need wiped down, there not horrible but could use a wipedown, the bathroom floor needs a good scrub too. Kitchen was well equipped for basic cooking and the beds were comfortable. If it was based soley on cleanliness i would stay here again. The bad: The customer service was HORRIBLE!! I was 15 min early for their 3 o clock check in. The checkin lady told me this twice but mentioned that i needed to finish paying so i got my cc out and waited while she shuffeled some paperwork around and seemed a lil unsure of what to do, no biggie i didn't mind waiting until she got things figured out. Then a lady with comes over and takes over and tells mo for a 3rd time you're 10 min early, at this point since i had already been told twice i replied "i'm 10 min early" It was all down hill from there. She was completely offended that i told her exactly how early i was. She looked me dead in my eyes witb a blank stare, "well we don't have keys until 3" I really didn't mind waiting but to be told 3 times "you're early" instead of lets get u checked in and as soon as keys get here we will get u in your way or something like that, is a lil annoying. This is tbe best part, so after the 3rd time of being told you're early i responded with, because this is what i was told by the first lady, don't i need to finish paying, she hold up a receipt and says "you already did" with a look on her face like, i was the one being rude! So i go out to my car to wait for 5 min, but my daughter needs to use restroom, so i go back in to ask uf the store/check in office has a restroom, no they don't but tell me the nearest one is ny tbe bathhouse. I go out thinking the "bathhouse" is nearby but don't see it or signs for restrions anywhere! By this time it was 3 o clock in the nose and im waiting outside, the rude lady comes out and says "here" hands me keys and a bunch of papers and walks away. I have never been to this campground and no idea where the cabins were. She didn't explain anything about the campground like where things were or what the campground had to offer. We basically just walked/drove around and figured things out for ourselves! Besides all that the lake and nearby creeks were really low, made for muddy banks and not good river fishing options. Also forgot to mention that the cabins are so close to each other you could probably smell your nrughbors breath! WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!…
Very large KOA. 3 ways to stay: tent, RV or cabin. We stayed in the 1bdr cabin. Very clean and comfortable. Has everything you need for the stay. Cabins located close to the road but don't be afraid by it. Very few cars on it during daytime and none after 10pm. You can drive your car right up to the lake and docks. Store has all the necessary stuff you might need , even alcohol.
We stayed in a cabin for 1 night. The cabin we stayed in was nice and clean. The big knock I have on this KOA - is the food stand inside the campground. The service at the food stand was kind and extremely slow. Eventually - when we received our food - it was good.
My family and I enjoyed a 3 day /3 night stay while in our 34' Travel Trailer. Park has accfess to Trinity Lake and hosts Kayak rentals. Well maintained RV park that allows tents with RV sites and almost 80 tent sites. Very remote and the spaces are ample for most larger RVs. Has a eel maintained pool, small store and grill on site. Also has gas, diesel and bulk propane. We really enjoyed our stay.
My family and my in-laws made a stay for 2 nights at the Trinity Lake KOA, July 28th and 29th, and left July 30th; we were suppose to stay until July 31st but due to the accommodations we left early. We reserved 2 cabins and received cabins 8 and 14. Cabin 8 is what my family stayed at and my in-laws stayed in cabin 14. When we first arrived we were assigned our cabins but were given the wrong cabins, Honest mistake we caught early and let go. Once we settled, which was difficult to do since the parking in front of the cabins was close to nil, we went looking for the marina that is advertised and found nothing and it was also 2 miles away, that was stated on the map. The marina, we were told, was suppose to be private and owned by the KOA but found out that they did NOT own it and so we were not able to leave our boat down there so we were unable to launch our boat once and leave it. The 29th we launched the boat to fish but had to pull the boat out of the water and it was hard for our other members of our family to go on the boat because we couldn't leave the boat safely at the marina. Also my In-laws are handicapped and NOTHING was ADA compliant at the marina. NOW back to our cabins; Cabin 14 was not cleaned before our arrival, the only thing that seemed to be done was clean linens. Cabin 8 was also in the same condition. the floors were so bad in cabin 8 I ended up scrubbing the floor on my hands and knees so I could stand to walk on them which was pointless since walking on the carpet made my feet black; truly disgusted by the conditions of both these cabins were. Cabin 8's kitchen was missing several items and several cooking items were broken and missing as well. The hood vent was broken and there wasn't a way to vent any smoke, I ended up setting off the smoke alarm 3 times while cooking from browning foods. The refrigerator had no dial to turn it on I had to figure out how to do it blindly, when I did get it going my food froze ruining my fresh vegetables. On to the beds, the beds were so uncomfortable hard as a rock, I seriously think I could have had a better nights sleep on concrete. The pull out sofa bed was a spring mattress and was also broken but we had to use it since we had 6 to sleep, when ever it was put away there was bar that dug into your side. The tiles in the living room area by the wood stove was broken, I was afraid my 2 yr old son was going to cut his feet on it since my husband did cut his foot on it. The bathroom walls were covered in black mold and other mold; there was also mold growing in the shower. The water pressure through out the cabin was horrible and the water from the hot water tank didn't heat to anything but luke warm. The toilet in the bathroom was super small and felt as if it was tilting to the right. NO ADA compliance in Either cabin's bathrooms for safety. The toilet seat in cabin 14 was broken. There were decks on the back of each cabin, I stepped out onto cabin 8's deck with my children and felt the boards start to give way and the deck wobbled as you walked on it, I didn't let my children go back on the deck again during our stay for fear they would get hurt. The sliding glass doors to the deck didn't lock. My in-laws went out on the deck on cabin 14, my father -in-law stepped down and stepped in a hole nearly breaking his leg and hurting his arm and shoulder trying to catch his fall; the door to their deck didn't lock either. I honestly wish we didn't not stay here and this was our first impression of a KOA we may not ever stay at another one if they compare to this one, it was awful!…
We were looking for pine trees and Trinity Lake as our focus, while still being able to camp in an RV. We got exactly what we wanted with the forested KOA, though the lake is terribly low . Breath-taking camp site and views from everywhere. Very nice hosts, very clean camp sites. The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner for showering. We're late in the season and the lake is down, but I would have loved to rent a kayak or ATV/quad. Just a thought. We did love this forested KOA.
Wonderful staff, great pool, two playgrounds, basketball court, bikes, activities, and a small burger place... It is about an hour and a half north of Redding, and is nestled in tall pines. Many sites are reserved for the entire season, but the campers aren't there, so it is pretty quiet. It is very clean, with garbage being picked up s few times a day... If you don't mind campsites pretty close together it will please you.
