We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were fortunate enough to reschedule our stay due to a fire a few months ago despite the clear no refund policy. Tyler worked very hard to accommodate us.
The accommodations were amazing. It is a historic building and I appreciated all of its quirkiness to maintain it’s integrity. Some people may think the rate is not justified, however as someone who has traveled all over the world I certainly felt we got a lot of bang for our buck.
We originally booked the tide pool room but ended up staying in the redwood room upstairs. This room has a view out of all windows. It is majestic and truly beautiful. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were a crisp white high thread count, and the quilt was a perfect for the environment with stitched fern leaves.
The breakfast arrived 10 minutes early and although dinning is typically in their common area they were kind enough to serve us in our room at our request. The food was spectacular. I don’t say that often and I am a bit of a cook myself.
I don’t know how we got so fortunate to have clear blue skies both days but as someone who has been visiting Trinidad for 20 years I know this is a rarity.
Our hosts were friendly, funny, accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for reviewing us here — love it, “…as someone who has been visiting Trinidad for 20 years…” clear blue skies both days! Despite our clear (and strict) terms and policies, we do love finding cancellation solutions that work for everyone — especially ones resulting in stays like yours ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Regardless of seasonal demand, it’d be nice to easily rent rooms that have been off-market and reserved for weeks or months. For us, this past 17 years, it is simply not the case. We are simplifying our policy for next year, but I doubt it will make people who cancel any less distraught. We’re moving to a firmly flat 50% cancellation. Hoping the upfront simplification offsets both our guest and our business cancellation costs, we obviously want to see less anxiety over these unfortunate situations. It’s a tricky balance for a very small business. Our strict policies tend to keep cancellation costs and disruptions low, but when it has to happen, we do love finding a fair and happy resolution. Thank you for rescheduling, and for your review. Maybe we do a flat 50% cancellation, and if guests stay within a year, they can get a 25% credit? All in, I think up-front honesty and a simple 50% will be best.

We had no information about this Inn, other than the reviews were good and they had availability. So we lucked out.
If you are visiting Trinidad or the surrounding area, this is the place to stay.
At the top of the hill with panoramic views and a short walk to the beach and headlands trail, which were both beautiful.
We did take out from Larupins. The food was good but getting such a great meal as a takeout lost a little in the translation. That is all they do right now, however.
Tyler, the innkeeper, is a young man who was very attentive. He gave us a great idea of where to hike (prairie creek state park). Also, his breakfasts in the morning from the baked apple with the heart carved into the top, to the delicious pumpkin waffles, were works of art.
I definitely would recommend our room on the second floor as it had the views and the privacy, which was great.
Tyler also helped us out with some laundry which went well above and beyond his job duties but he was happy to do it and it helped us out tremendously.
We were sad to leave after two nights, which I think is an indication of a great stay!

We lucked out too — thank you staying and for reviewing us here. Sorry ‘bout dining options when you stayed, but blame Gov. Newsom for the restaurant restrictions — the Larrupin dining experience will hopefully return to better days really soon. We are just as, if not more, disappointed with some of these ridiculous, unevidenced based small business restrictions and can’t wait till they are rescinded like other areas. Absolutely, “sad to leave after two nights” and sad to see you go are definitely indications of a great stay 🥰 Hope you make it up for another stay in a more normal 2021! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Trinidad Bay B&B is the perfect place to recharge, whether you’re stopping over for a night working your way along the cost, or spending several days exploring California’s north coast. Do not miss a chance to stay here.
The town of Trinidad is wonderful, perched on the bluffs overlooking the stunningly beautiful Trinidad Bay. And the B&B is right at the bluffs’ edge and has unobstructed views of the bay, headlands, and harbor. All the rooms have breathtaking views. We stayed upstairs in the Redwoods room, but had a chance to poke our head into the other upstairs room across the hall and the downstairs room, and the view was just as good.
If you’re not just passing through and you have a couple days for some exploring, the B&B (20 miles south of Orick) is a perfect home base for excursions to Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek State Park. And it’s just five miles south of Patrick Point State Park. Add in Trinidad State Beach within walking distance and several other beaches within 5 miles, and this is an amazing launching point for your outdoor adventures and a relaxing home to rest after a long day.
The location and the views put this B&B in a category of its own, but what puts it over the top is the hospitality of the innkeeper, Tyler. He makes an amazing breakfast (and he was so gracious and accommodating of our dietary preferences). Breakfast was sometimes in our room and sometimes in the main room depending on occupancy (2020 COVID distancing issues being carefully attended to by the B&B.) He also checked in with us on our arrival day to keep track of our progress, and throughout our stay he always had a recommendation, whether for a place in town to grab a meal or for beaches or trails to explore.
This was a “wow” experience. I can’t imagine that we will stay anywhere else the next time we’re in redwood country.

My husband and I love to drive along the coast and staying in beautiful little hotels overlooking the water. Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast did not disappoint!!! We stayed in the Tide Pool Room, which I can not recommend enough!!
Tyler, the innkeeper, did a wonderful job of getting us set up, recommending restaurants for lunch and dinner and then served a wonderful breakfast in the morning in our room overlooking the bay. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!! But we will definitely be back!! Thank you again to everyone at Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast!!

Fantastic! Thank you for reviewing us. Glad we could accommodate you on your trip. Now that things are more normal, well at our B&B Hotel anyway, we’d love to have you back for a longer stay. Hope your area is returning to happier, healthier living too. We are grateful for everyone who helped us make it through the regulation nightmares. Now that it’s becoming more of a bad dream, with hopes it’ll be a faded memory in a few months, we wanted to catch up on reviews, and it’s very nice remembering your visit. Thank you again, for staying and reviewing us ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Every detail at our stay at this lovely B & B was perfect. We stayed in a large room (Tidepool) with its own patio overlooking the gorgeous view of the Bay. The hummingbirds were ever-present in the garden. The innkeepers have obviously taken great care with every aspect of the experience, from the sheets and towels, to serving a beautiful breakfast to the room after asking what we preferred. The site is within walking distance to a fun little wine bar, and a good seafood restaurant. Check out time is 1pm, making for a relaxing morning with time to walk down to the beach. We would absolutely stay here again. On our way out, we got a bag of fabulous homemade cookies for the road.

Don't let Covid stop you from visiting this charming B&B on the Coast of California. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and safe. Tyler and Michael were such gracious hosts and made us feel at home - we planned on staying one night but extended an additional night as we couldn't bring ourselves to leave!! The lobby and rooms are equipped with hand sanitizer, wipes and masks (in case you forgot yours or need an extra) and everything was very clean and organized. The crab pot room we stayed in was adorable and had the most spectacular view! Small but not too small for the 3 of us, it felt cozy and comfortable. And the breakfast, wow! So good. We left early the second morning and couldn't stay for breakfast so Tyler packed up the most deliciously fragrant waffles and coffee in our car for the road. We travel often and have stayed at numerous Four Seasons properties and I have to say that the service here was as attentive and warm as anything that we have ever experienced. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it!

We had a most wonderful 3 night stay at Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast. Everything about this place was amazing! First, it’s perfect location for easy driving to the Redwood National and State Parks as well as being located in the cute and relaxed, upscale Trinidad. This location is right on the Trinidad Bay so you have nothing blocking your pristine view. It’s easy, walking distance to delicious restaurants (especially one that had unique fudge like carrot cake and strawberries and cream). And the fun hiking from this place was fabulous (Trinidad Head and Trinidad State Beach were so close, no car needed).
Ok. Now for the place!! If you stay here you will feel spoiled. The magnificent breakfasts were 3 courses and always unique. So delicious, creative, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Fresh squeezed orange juice and sliced, peeled fresh fruit were also part of the lavish spread.
Tyler, the host, is amazing as all the reviews have stated. His kindness, attention to detail, helpfulness and of course cooking abilities were first class.
Our room that we stayed in, The Redwoods room, was upstairs and lovely. Very roomy for the 2 of us and had many personal touches that we so enjoyed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the towels upscale and the attention to minute details was wonderful (including the exquisite tissues and toilet paper).
Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast was the exceptional place to stay for our magical vacation to the redwoods. Thank you, again, Tyler.

We had the privilege to stay at the Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast for three nights. It was an exceptional experience punctuated by the attentiveness of our host, Tyler, and his determination to strike the perfect balance between comfort and safety in the era of COVID. He was relentless in his pursuit of both.
Our accommodations (the Redwoods room) had multiple, breathtaking views of the Bay. All of the variables, i.e. towels, linens, etc. were reflective of the expectations of seasoned travelers. Our room was impeccably cleaned and sanitized upon our arrival. Tyler was very respectful of and adherent to the health and safety protocols required to inspire confidence in a guest. His gourmet breakfasts were further evidence of his desire to provide a lovely experience.
Trinidad became our base camp for two full days in the Redwoods parks. We had never been to the area. The breathtaking beauty of the forests will bring us back. We will make every effort to return to the Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast so that we can start and end our day with the seaside majesty of Trinidad Bay and the warmth and thoughtfulness of our host, Tyler.

Wow ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Super fantastic review — send more great Guests from your state haha. We were so lucky (safely) hosting 100’s of great Guests this Summer. So many thoughtful overseas and out-of-area Guests rescheduled for next year, to help us make it through ridiculous State, County, and City Restrictions early on. Gratefully, it looks like we’ll make it another year, but it’s only thanks to our wonderful Guests like you two. Thanks again for braving the over-hyped fear of smoke and fires. Was a pleasure chatting and solving problems of the world with you both. Have a fun Fall, and hope to see you next chance you get to visit Trinidad.

We planned a two week driving vacation starting in North County San Diego and going all the way around California just to get to this location. We were delighted. Tyler warmly welcomed us and showed us to our large "room" (more like a one room apartment) that had an unbelievable view, a comfy bed, a kitchenette, and all the extras (ex: lux bath sheets instead of regular towels) that you would ever want. While we were only there for two nights, we could imagine a much longer stay. We highly recommend you book a stay here. Breakfasts were delightful with even my food allergy accommodated.

We enjoyed our stay at the Trinidad Bay B&B, the perfect location to base ourselves for hikes in the redwoods parks and along the rugged coast. Tyler is an attentive and charming host.
We were in the cozy Crabpot room which is charming -- especially for the fabulous window seat, generous enough for two to relax and read on a rainy afternoon, which we did. The view is spectacular and ever changing.
Breakfasts are generous, on the rich side, though Tyler says he can accommodate any special dietary needs. The dining room looks over the Bay and is such a great place to start the day.
Note: The cancelation policy is rather more restrictive than other lodgings, so be sure to read the policy when you make your reservation.
We would stay again because it's just such a perfect spot for exploring this phenomenal coastal area.

Thank you for your review. Sounds like you may have an issue with our cancellation policy, and I’d be happy to speak with you about it. We’ve tried many variations to provide the most fair policy to cover both our guest’s flexibility and our business costs. We are moving to a flat 50% cancellation which may yet be more restrictive than other lodgings, but that is how we will be able to continue offering our rather more generous service and accommodation. We would welcome your stay again, but hope you’ll speak to us about your concerns before you book, as we’ve indicated in our terms and cancellation policies.
