Vail Lake RV Resort features 467 full hook up RV sites with 30 and 50 AMP power. The property is adjacent to Vail Lake with great Largemouth Bass fishing and boating. Vail Lake has miles of challenging and scenic mountain bike trails (best suited for intermediate and advanced riders)along with miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, bocce ball and more. The majority of our RV camping sites are located among a large grove of mature oak trees offering shaded areas for relaxing. We are minutes away from the wineries and amenities of the Temecula Valley but the setting is rustic and natural with views of the surrounding mountain region. Currently we do not offer tent camping at Vail Lake but we may be offering some tent sites in the near future.

This trip was our first to a KOA, and we were pleasantly surprised. This is full-service camping, definitely not for the backcountry crowd. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the shop has everything you forgot, and the entire campground is dog-friendly (including the shop). Our site (249 - Lower Merlot) was not very private/shady, but was spacious, had hook-ups, and had a nice view of a little arroyo. We had a picnic table, but not all sites did. We travelled in a Sylvan Go pop-up tent trailer. Restrooms were nearby and were clean. A few perks: Once checked in you can charge anything at the shop/cafe to your card on file, and they will deliver firewood right to your site! There's free wi-fi if you need it. COVID note: The staff were wearing masks, and masks are

First of all, I’m not a camper. I don’t like sleeping anywhere that isn’t in a bed. But this place is as nice as it gets for camping. They even bring you firewood in the morning if you’re staying more than one night. If you get there late at night, you can buy wood at check-in for just $4 per bundle. And each spot has your own personal fire pit and picnic table! It was easy to make a fire and enjoy s’mores. Their staff are helpful, too. I was worried about checking in late and finding our way, but they are open 24/7 and gave us a map with a path to our site. Couldn’t get any easier. Their bathrooms have showers (but water is freezing, so I do not recommend), clean toilets, and sinks with paper towels. The only negative is that the bathrooms have no mirrors - so bring your own.

We recently spent the weekend at Vail Lake. It was our first time staying there. We really loved it. We stayed in Lower Chardonnay. It was a great location for small children because the middle had a big grass area for kids to run and play. It's a cul de sac so there wasn't too much traffic except for the people camping in that area. We visited some friends in The Oaks which was much closer to the village but it was a lot busier. If you have small children I wouldn't recommend it because there were people driving their golf carts pretty fast along with just general car traffic. It was nice to be close to everything though and there is a lot of shade. I would have liked to look at the other camp areas but we just didn't have time. The staff was great. Very friendly. Check-in

Very Spacious sites plenty of activities and a nice cafe and bar if you don't want to cook. Friendly and helpful staff. If you're going during holidays book early! This is a place where people gather with their friends and family.

Dirty..filthy..lights in laundry dont work..chair in laundry broken. Showers are concrete cells with no curtain. Glass above other showers broken out. Too much to mention. Worst campground I have ever stayed at in my life. None of us even showered it was so bad. If you have a rv..go for it if you dare. Tenters go anywhere else but here. Anywhere else. Would give 0 stars if I could.

We stayed in space 24 on top of hill overlooking canyon. Wildflowers were blooming, snow on top of Mt San jacinto, and Vail lake could be seen in the distance. Our campsite was spacious with lots of room for family visits for evening campfires. Compared to other camping options in Temecula we were glad to pick Vail lake. the roads are in bad shape and I understand they plan to repair next year. Will stay here again.

JUST PURCHASED BY KOA.... I've been coming here for years, written previous great reviews. Didn't take long before KOA started nickle and diming you to death. They raised the storage fee by $20 a month. (NO Improvements.) They removed the Good Sam Discount, which was 50% off your 1st nights stay. They now charge $25 extra if you want to reserve a specific site number, otherwise, you purchase an area, they assign the site. Even National parks let you pick a site. 5 STARS for the staff. Good to see they kept many of the original staff such as Gary, Shari, and Katelyn. This will be the only thing that keeps people coming back. Trust me, these price hikes and the restrictions were all people were talking about on our last stay.

We camped at Vail Lake RV Resort a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Ahem, let me rephrase that...we camped for the FIRST TIME EVER at the Vail Lake RV Resort. Neither the amenities nor the friendly fellow campers disappointed. We pulled our 28' TT into the park after 11pm and had no problem backing it into our spot. It was plenty wide and deep. Because it was pitch black outside, both our neighbors came over to help me position the TT onto the pad. Got set up and had a very peaceful nights sleep. The next day was park-busy and fun. Me and my son played basketball on the resort's full size outdoor court. It was hot outside, but, hey, bball is life! Lol. My entire family, all five of us, then rode our bicycles on the many trails before making our way to the pool area. The

For a fast getaway, this is our choice. Camping with the kids, fishing, letting them explore the surroundings. It is close to home. It does need some TLC, but money may be the issue. Lots of oak trees and riding trails. The riding trails were closed in May 2018 when we were there and not much water in the lake. When there is, the Chardonnay Mesa is a good place to camp as the view of the lake is awesome. There’s a general store and it is all very cute and rustic.

This is a beautiful area, rich in history and a lovely place to spend some time. We arrived on Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend and the park was full of families enjoying the nice weather. We were concerned with the noise level when we went to bed, but they eventually finished their competitive sports and things got somewhat quieter. By Tuesday the population had dropped significantly and we were able to hear the calls of the coyotes in the valley. The interior roads are paved but rough enough that a speed limit isn't necessary. As you enter the park, just past the guard house there are two speed bumps that really don't show up, but crossing them at a crawl is a very good idea. This is a beautiful area and we would not hesitate to stay here again!
