For a fast getaway, this is our choice. Camping with the kids, fishing, letting them explore the surroundings. It is close to home. It does need some TLC, but money may be the issue. Lots of oak trees and riding trails. The riding trails were closed in May 2018 when we were there and not much water in the lake. When there is, the Chardonnay Mesa is a good place to camp as the view of the lake is awesome. There’s a general store and it is all very cute and rustic.
This is a beautiful area, rich in history and a lovely place to spend some time. We arrived on Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend and the park was full of families enjoying the nice weather. We were concerned with the noise level when we went to bed, but they eventually finished their competitive sports and things got somewhat quieter. By Tuesday the population had dropped significantly and we were able to hear the calls of the coyotes in the valley. The interior roads are paved but rough enough that a speed limit isn't necessary. As you enter the park, just past the guard house there are two speed bumps that really don't show up, but crossing them at a crawl is a very good idea. This is a beautiful area and we would not hesitate to stay here again!
Pavement is shot, electrical boxes in bad shape. Has min golf course but in bad shape. Needs a infusion of cash to bring this park up to current standards. Courteous staff and quite a few things to do.
This is family and seniors friendly place. There is shade tress in most sites. The lake itself is closed, but there is a large swim pool. The rest room are well keep and have showers. Very quite at night and there is security 24 hours a day.
This was our first time at this resort. It is huge and was nicer than we expected. We stayed at the Oaks. Sites are dirt and unlevel. Takes some effort to level the trailer. Required thick shims beneath some of the jacks. The sites are wide. There is room for slides on both sides with plenty of remaining space. There is room for 2 vehicles at the site. Tent camping is also allowed at the RV sites. Plenty of amenities including horseshoes, bocce ball, volley ball, full basketball court, 18-hole mini-golf, and other similar recreational activities. There are 3 swimming pools. The place is known for its outstanding bicycle trails. Pro bikers come here to train. There is a café, store, and outdoor bar. They have entertainment such as karaoke. The lake was closed to access because…
