This place is great for the special holiday weekends, albeit it has changed a tremendous amount since the water district purchased the property and thus are not in the RV park business too. The activities have changed a lot for Halloween for example and not necessarily for the better. Too many people (and underage kids) driving side by side RZRs... More

Victor, thanks for joining us at Vail this Halloween and thanks for the feedback. In terms of policies for guests re-booking spaces for future years, we made no changes to the system this year. Our staff members that have worked here for several years prior to the ownership change confirmed that this year's re-booking policy and procedure was the same... More

If security enforced the rules , I would've given a 5 rating . Too many teenagers driving golf carts on prohibited roads. I've seen security stop the same people and not enforce the rules. Our spot lacked its own fire ring but had great neighbors that we shared . Asked staff , but they would not accommodate bringing a fire... More

John ... thanks for the review. New fire rings ordered and will be installed this winter and more controls in effect now to keep golf cart usage safe for everyone staying with us. Unfortunately, the state regulators in Sacramento said no on renovating the waterslide ... it was built in the 70's and does not meet current standards. We are... More

We stayed here for the first time over the weekend. I was very impressed! It's more than just a camp ground. Some of our group went bike riding while the rest went to the pools. Awesome and refreshing pools. Lots of chairs. We also played tether ball and mini golf too. They have a grass volleyball court. We heard the... More

I really like this park. I've stayed here multiple times. The sites are large. You can find nice views, great shade, quieter adult sections or busy family sections. There is lots to do here for all ages. But, although you see security driving around the park all day long, at quiet time security is nowhere to be found and there... More

Thanks for the constructive feedback KD ... very helpful to get your insights into where we need work. This will be discussed at the staff meeting when we talk about where we need to improve the experience here at Vail Lake. We are listening and heard you loud and clear. Thanks again. More

This is not a sterile rv resort. It is more like well accommodated camping. There are lots of things to do, especially for the kids. The night we were there they had a pretty good rock band, and the bar was open so it was a nice evening. Most of the sites border on open space, which is nice. They... More

We just came back from a weekend at Vail and we loved it and made reservations for Sept because we liked it so much. Our site 56 was perfect and since this was our first time there I was so happy the reservation clerk gave us a great spot. The facilities were clean the village area was great with a... More

I really like this campground. It is well kept, the bathrooms are clean and it is pet friendly. It's primarily for RV's. Last weekend was a very busy weekend-2 different bike races, YMCA Indian princess camp out and first weekend most kids were out of school. Unfortunately my dog got scared and escaped her harness (she's a puppy). The staff... More

I came out here for the first time this past weekend. I was out for the YMCA Indian Princesses weekend event with my family. It was the first time I rented an RV and really enjoyed my trip there. Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear that your family had an enjoyable visit to Vail Lake. The section you were in (Arroyo Seco) had power turned off just before Memorial Day weekend as a precaution for guest safety. There were a couple locations in Arroyo Seco that have the potential to cause problems so we shut the power... More

We stayed at Vail Lake for Memorial Day Weekend. My kids were very excited to go swimming, the pool water was very cold (Pool should have been heated) so the kids were upset. I noticed during the weekend other kids and families felt the same way because you would jump out of the pool immediately. The water at Vail Lake... More

We stayed at the being of March 2015. I must say, this is more like a camping / RV Resort than a parking lot surronuded by concrete and sod grass. If you like to pull into a concrete pad, have a shrub wall dividing you and your neighbors, and a gazebo, this might not be the place for you. If... More
