Looking for modern, hi tech accommodations with the latest accoutrements? This ain't it. What it is started back in the 1920s, as a lumber camp and lodge for the Brockway Lumber Company. As the lumber business slowed, the property became a motor lodge, with small cabins ranging from tiny to medium sized, and a few houses that will sleep large... More

My husband and I spent two very enjoyable days at Rustic Cottages with our small dog. We had made our reservations late so the only cabin available was the smallest one they have: the Bijou. That said, and limited space aside, the unit was clean and comfortable. We were given a peek at a few other cabins and saw that... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to N. Lake Tahoe, staying at the Rustic Cottages. The accommodations were quaint, clean and fit our needs. The location was also great, as we were just across the street from the beach at Tahoe Vista. A hot breakfast was provided in the Lodge each morning. In addition, there were several family friendly amenities... More

An amazingly good stay. Spent a few nights in the Lakeview cabin, next to the lodge. Breakfast was provided and fairly good. Staff was friendly and helpful on the local restaurants. Easy drive to the local attractions. Room was nice – king bed, small bathroom but manageable, gas fireplace that can quickly heat up the room. I would return when... More

We rented the Brockway cottage with kitchenette, and it had everything you need. Owner/staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved that the owner was around to make sure you felt welcome. Our cottage was clean and the breakfast was great. My kids loved having the home made refreshments and baked goods available at check in. North Shore was right across... More

We rented the Bijou cottage with kitchenette so we could bring our Great Dane puppy. A little small, but everything you need is there. Owner/staff was very friendly and accommodating, cottage was clean and the breakfast was great. We loved the meadow behind the property and there was always refreshments and baked goods available to guests. We stayed mid-week so... More

My wife and I, along with our two small dogs stayed at the Martis cottage last night. Among the pros: the provided breakfast was freshly cooked (at 8 am) with muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage, juices, waffles (pour and make your own), and cereal. The breakfast room is warm and inviting. The staff we met were outgoing, friendly, and helpful. The... More

Wondering why all the 5 star ratings. It's not that great. Too expensive for what it is. No chair to relax inside cabin. Just bed and small eating table with dining chairs. Road out front is so busy. Breakfast not anything special either. No view of lake.

We stayed overnight in one of the cottages named Vista at Rustic Cottages. It was snowing and cold outside and so the fire at the foot of the bed was a particularly pleasing comfort. The staff were extremely welcoming and the choice of videos to watch in the room was extensive. We were then also provided with some popcorn to... More

What a fantastic find! Okay, our friend found it for us (her entire wedding party stayed here). Loved the charm and authenticity of the cottages (with gas fireplaces and small kitchenettes), hospitality of the owners/hosts, generous breakfast spread, proximity to ski resorts (and the beach across the street), as well as the extraordinarily reasonable rates. Will definitely return!
