This place is a great place to take your family or go with a group. Location is excellent. The staff is very warm and friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I know this does not affect everyone and the staff was amazing and understanding but I would NOT recommend coming here if you are coming with kids with autism who tend to be loud or active. I told the person when I called for our reservation and they said no problem you will be on the bottom floor at the end. The building is on the older side and walls are thin. My son with autism was having a hard time and understandably it was upsetting the other guests which makes it very stressful and uncomfortable for us so we ended up checking out early. I plan to return again as a “do over” with just adults next time!

I recently revisited Mourelatos after being there several years before. My previous trip there was very memorable and as soon as I made reservations I remembered why. The resort's host are so personable and welcoming. Checking in with me before our arrival and texting mid-stay to see how we were doing. The best part of this resort is that you have all you need in one place. Often times, various lakes in this area can be a zoo. Here you feel as if you have your own private lake with all amenities. They have all the water toys you need- SUP, Kayaks, Water Bikes and more. There are tons of beach chairs each with their own umbrellas. Lots of sand games like Volleyball, Ping Pong, Cornhole and more. Fire pits in the evenings are available to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. There is even a hot tub to enjoy in the cool evenings. The resort grounds are kept perfectly clean and the views from the rooms are spectacular. Rooms are equipment with a few extras like wine glasses and opener, plates, glasses, etc. which was nice to have. Lastly, the location is very centralized to Truckee, Kings Beach, Incline Village and more. The staff is friendly and accommodating, as well and responded to our requests immediately. I highly recommend this resort for your summer or winter visit.

I made reservations here after a dear friend suggested it would be a great place to spend a few days for my 70t birthday. I booked 2 nights. I asked the concierge if the room had a lake view? She assured me it did. When we got to our room, we saw we had a very small peek-a-poo view of the lake: not what I had imaged. The room was OK, the furniture seemed old, outdated, (some pieces were damaged) the bathroom counter was lower than standard, not much in the way of guest toiletries, everything looked dowdy and there was a natty, old, convertible sofa parked right outside of our room siting on the splintered and irregular boardwalk. The first night was OK, but the 2nd night, a group of elephants moved into a room above us. I didn't complain when the loud talking, loud laughing and loud walking persisted until about 11:00 pm, but when the party moved to the pool/spa and the loudness continued to the point, I had to shut my window (and even then, I could hear them) I called the front desk. But there was no one at the front desk! They later told us said it was because of COVID, but when you called the front desk, you were apparently connected to someone off-site. There was a repeated communication problem between the front desk and us, Finally, I believe someone did go talk to the rowdy spa group, but nothing changed. When I called the front desk again, I was told they did go to the spa, but no one else was complaining about the noise so they weren't going to do anything! (Never mind the signs publicly posted citing a 10 pm pool closure. Needless to say, I didn't get a good night's sleep and I was quite OK with leaving the resort, after having a word with the front desk which was now manned. In conclusion, the best part of staying at Mourelatos was the 2-man band playing on the beach, which my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, the lake was amazing, but that had nothing to do with Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our visit to Lake Tahoe! Beautiful view of the lake from our room, nice walk on the beach, very spacious room, sparkling clean and friendly staff. We enjoyed the hot tub! Close to everything in Tahoe City and King’s Beach. Easy drive over to Truckee. Communication with the Front Desk was very efficient through text. Quick response to our requests and easy check-in and check-out. Will definitely be back!!

We loved how private and quiet our room was and the sweet hospitality of the front desk and how attentive the staff was at returning our text messages and quickly attending to our needs. Thank you Corrine and Michelle. We would love if you could offer your guests secure wifi so we could work from our lap tops. We are already planning another trip to this blessed lake front retreat with full kitchen!!! Respectfully, Sherrie

It was a very nice stay in the middle of February. We went right before the crazy President’s Day weekend so it wasn’t too crowded or busy. The only downside was the noise - the walls seemed very thin so we could hear the other people next door to our room, but quiet hours were from 10pm - 8am so it wasn’t too bad at night. Other than that the staff was awesome and very welcoming and were great with communication. Our room was super spacious for a couples stay and we loved the fireplace.
