We booked a room at this hotel in order to attend our daughters wedding. The day we were to arrive we found out the venue had been moved to the other side of the lake due to closed roads. In my haste, I booked this hotel through GuestReservations.com rather than through the hotel website. An hour after we booked, I tried multiple times to cancel the reservation without penalty, but the 3rd party would not listen. I called the hotel directly, and the people there were SO nice and accommodating and immediately canceled my reservation without a penalty. Even though it took MANY phone calls to the 3rd party to acknowledge the cancellation, I wanted to acknowledge the helpfulness of Lia and Felix for helping me with my problem.
This is a great place! Lots of beautiful trees and accommodations. Max at the front desk was exceptionally knowledgable and helpful. Good food too! The nearby area around Tahoe City has lots to see and do. Great paved bike trails and off road. Close to the Lake but quieter.
We booked our trip way back in November before the record amount of snow dropped in the area. Flew in from Reno, the drive to the lodge was about 70min, would be less if the weather is nicer. We were welcomed by super friendly staff, everyone we encountered took great care to make our stay as pleasant as possible, and everyone delivered! I boarded at Palisades and Alpine, it was an easy 15min drive to some amazing facilities. Dinner at Cedar House pub was excellent, I highly recommend the fish and chips! If you want a great breakfast, go for it and have it included in your stay. Every meal was easy, fresh and it was well worth the cost. Our room was fantastic, kind bed was comfortable and plenty of space for ski/board gear. I would say the resort is great value for the money, location is nearby the pubs and shops in town and super easy to get to Palisades. …
Granlibakken’s location is hard to beat, we have been staying here pretty much every time we came up here for a ski trip at palisades Tahoe. We have stayed pretty much all room types so far, the rooms are comfy but a little dated, so are the amenities. Their breakfast buffet is quite good and you have cedar house (a bit pricy) to save you the trip for dinners. The staff is really the star of the show and I really wanted to thank Steven (don’t know his last name, sorry!) who saved my most recent trip. Steven is so kind that he gifted his usb-c cord to me since I have forgotten my MacBook charger at home, he insisted to not take any monetary compensation tho I really wanted to. Definitely saved the day(s) and I am really moved by his kindness.
Nice room, and great dinner at the Cedar House Pub. Tremendous ambiance with real wood fire and superb dinner special, Chilean Sea b Bass cooked to perfection and served over fresh spinach. Highly recommend the Cedar House Pub for a romantic dinner and low key environment.
The front guy give us a bad attention we tried get two night and everything was ready to get in and the guy sat oh I’m sorry I just reset my computer I don’t got more rooms anymore we had to leave snowing.
perfect place to relax! very clean - shout out to Lia and Emmanuel for making the stay here amazing! Lia had the brightest smile in front desk and Emmanuel directed us to the snowboard / Ski! honestly the place was beautiful / 100%recommend!!
Fun hotel resort for families with small children because everything is right there: a sledding hill, a bunny slope for small children, and one tow lift on a larger hill for beginners. The included breakfast buffet was pretty good and the restaurant (Cedar House Pub) had surprisingly good food. We were however, very disappointed with the quality of our room. We booked a standard suite for $600/night and expected more than the outdated and unclean suite we were given. When I say outdated, I mean decades outdated. I guess this is what they mean by "classic Tahoe charm." There was paint peeling from the ceiling, damaged doors, dust in the corners and spider webs in the lights, oddly the master bedroom locked and needed a key card to open (actually pretty dangerous if you have a curious toddler and you leave your key cards in that bedroom). Definitely not child friendly with various wires running along the walls and radiator heating. The bright green carpet had to be at least 30 years old. The toilets are from the 70s-- it really wouldn't cost much to replace them and makes you think about other corners they might be cutting. The front desk staff was young and experienced. After a 4 hour drive from the Bay Area we were anxious to settle into our room but our key cards weren't activated at check-in and we had to drive back to the lobby for the unapologetic Gen Zer to activate them. We really wanted to love this place and make it our go-to Tahoe resort while the kids are young, but unfortunately the shocking outdatedness of the pricey rooms will force us to look elsewhere for our next trip.…
I wanted to give this resort a review because the staff were so accommodating and were really awesome. The rooms, whilst a little dated were clean and they resemble the ski vibe that you would want in tahoe, they were also spacious and we had lots of room as 4 female friends to enjoy some drinks and chill out together. We were also there over thanksgiving and really appreciated the resort giving the option to guests for a thanksgiving meal instead of us having to cook ourselves. The only downside of this resort was the lack of dinner and drinks and entertainment in the evenings in November but your visiting Tahoe so plenty of options to go into the town and enjoy the many restaurants and bars instead of spending all the time in the hotel.
Carlos was such a fantastic bartender! I came to this place for the naturalist conference and was blown away by the service. Raul, Karina, and Lucas were on top of every transition between meals. Umbrellas were out as soon as the sun came up and the heaters were out as soon as the temperature changed. Taylor made sure we had the best damn coffee at all hours of the day, with a variety of options! Alex and Loraina had everything running smoothly and always had such a positive presence, the food was amazing, every single meal and every single side. Thomas, Ashlyn, Julian and Paul made sure that all the foods stayed hot and filled to the brim. I was never left wanting while I stayed here. Every need was met before it was even a need. 10 out of 10 id come back just for the people who work here! …
