I booked this place for its location and it is in a lovely location. Unfortunately it is now between seasons so not everything is open, but that is not the fault of the hotel. Nice rooms and a helpful man on reception. WE stayed for 2 nights and on the second afternoon the TV stopped working (sound but no vision), someone was sent to our room straight away to look at it for us, he was not able to fix it but said he would see if there was a spare tv that he could give us. That was the last we saw of him, the hotel was probably half empty so I'm not sure why a TV couldn't have been bought in from one of those rooms. Granted, we did not chase, but we assumed he would be coming back with an answer for us. I also accept that a TV is not life and death, but we felt that we had been swept aside. When I checked out, and mentioned the broken TV the lady knew about it, and said that as we had booked through Bookings.com we could not be given any kind of discount to compensate for it. This wasn't really an issue, as everything else was ok, it just sounded like a bit of an excuse, as the room was paid for, regardless of how the money came to the hotel, so I cant see why we couldn't have been given a partial refund. Again, I didn't push. This was a nice quiet place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I really do believe that a great hotel experience starts with the first person who greets you, and that was Jonathan C. To be honest, I was not happy with my room...so unhappy in fact that I was going to find another hotel to stay in. Jonathan was apologetic and told me nothing was available as the weekend was booked solid. I pleaded a bit because I was into the vibe of this cute place and I wanted it to work out. And you know what, Jonathan made it work out. He studied the bookings for a while, he made some determined calculations (knowing he might get a bit of a reprimand from the manager), and he juggled the schedule and found me not just another room, but a great room...a really great room. A room that turned my mood around. And thats what it took to take this review from not so great to 5 STARS. So, thank you Jonathan. for being so kind and accommodating. BaseCamp Tahoe is lucky to have you as the first person a guest encounters. Douglas Marfa, Tx.

I would like to start off with the staff. The day of our trip, I was getting text communications from the staff to see what time we would arrive, I love that because a lot of hotels do not try to communicate and we typically have to call to see what time our room will be etc. I got a text saying our room was ready and to see what time we would arrive. We kept delaying our arrival and we arrived after hours, Marshall stayed after hours just so he can check us in and he did it with such grace. He found out it was my birthday and made my check in process so great. We absolutely adore him. Anything we needed, they were there to help. The atmosphere at Basecamp is the best. Rooms are exactly what the photo shows. Overall it was a really good stay.

We had the best stay at Basecamp Tahoe City! We were greeted with the friendliest staff who were eager to tell us all about the great hiking and biking spots, and they went over all the hotel details with us very thoroughly. We ended up hanging out in the lobby with them for a while and had a beer at the little bar in there.  Our room was super spacious with high ceilings and a king bed. It was clean and comfortable and had the basic amenities like a fridge and coffee making supplies (Kuju coffee!). Right outside of our room was the top deck fire pit and the corn hole.  The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to awesome restaurants. We went to Pioneer for dinner (amazing pizza & cocktails) and then walked around a bit before heading back to the hotel. A lot of other guests were hanging out by the fire pit in the evening so we joined them to roast s'mores.  We checked out the Farmer's Market which is on Thursday mornings at Common's Beach, it's also walking distance from the hotel and has amazing produce and other local products.  Overall, we just loved our stay at this Basecamp and we loved Tahoe City - it's more of a chill, mountain town vibe than South Lake Tahoe. (We also stayed at the Basecamp Tahoe South which was amazing and fun!). Can't wait to go back!!

The hotel was great and the location was excellent. It is a converted 60’s motel that has been nicely updated. The rooms aren’t fancy, but the bed and showers are good. We ended up staying an extra day and had to switch rooms, and they were the same good quality. Out room faced the lake and had a gorgeous view without even getting out of the comfy bed. Along with a nice ambiance, the location is excellent. Walking distance to marina and boat trips, grocery store and CVS across the street, as well as numerous great restaurants within walking distance. We only needed to drive to go up to Palisade (formerly Squaw), so a great place to avoid traffic stress. Area was relaxing and quiet while we were there (early June). We had s’mores at the fire pit and walked to the farmers market and brought back breakfast on the deck surveying the lake. Loved it and will return.

We definitely like this place. Clean, great vibe, great staff. We opened for a larger king room. It is very comfortable. Keep in mind, this place is not on the lake. It is across the street. And there are great restaurants walking distance. The lobby area has a nice hang area with 5 local taps. A nice touch. There are outdoor fire pits and indoor fire places to gather near. Tess and Jenny at the front desk were so helpful and had great recommendations on where to walk/hike and where to eat. We would recommend this place.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in March 2022. The hotel is located in the town of Lake Tahoe. The hotel provides clean spacious accommodation. The lady at the checkin was very friendly and helpful. The room had all the basic needs and was spacious. Breakfast is provided but we did not avail of it. The check out process was smooth and uneventful. All the restaurants etc. Are within walking distance from the hotel.

Excellent location, friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff and comfortable rooms, couldn't ask for more really. Despite Covid/winter supply issues they improvised to provide a good breakfast that set us up for the day. Due to full car parks at Olympic and Alpine, we decided to try Homewood resort nearby on one day and the receptionist came up with two $100 discount lift pass vouchers! Rooms are decorated in a welcoming, rustic style and despite getting half a season of snow in 5 days they'd done an amazing job of clearing the car park! Awesome 4 night stay, thank you!

We visited for a special family event and stayed for 2 nights. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional - everyone from the reception to housekeeping. This motel is in a great location with easy access to everything in this quaint little mountain town. The room was also very clean. I would stay here again.
