Great location. Only 15 minute drive to the slopes. Across from the water & Safeway grocery. Easy walk to restaurants. We arrived late & the after hours check in was easy. Reception staff were helpful. Clean room. Plenty of hot water. Would stay again.

Hotel's Favorite
I really do believe that a great hotel experience starts with the first person who greets you, and that was Jonathan C. To be honest, I was not happy with my room...so unhappy in fact that I was going to find another hotel to stay in. Jonathan was apologetic and told me nothing was available as the weekend was booked solid. I pleaded a bit because I was into the vibe of this cute place and I wanted it to work out. And you know what, Jonathan made it work out. He studied the bookings for a while, he made some determined calculations (knowing he might get a bit of a reprimand from the manager), and he juggled the schedule and found me not just another room, but a great room...a really great room. A room that turned my mood around. And thats what it took to take this review from not so great to 5 STARS. So, thank you Jonathan. for being so kind and accommodating. BaseCamp Tahoe is lucky to have you as the first person a guest encounters. Douglas Marfa, Tx.

Cute, last minute 2 night stay. Location, location, location. This place is quaint and was perfect for the 2 of us. Comfy, big and clean bed, fire pits and s’mores was a plus at night. Michael was super helpful and accommodating considering we were last minute too!

We stayed here one night with another couple and were underwhelmed. For what you got it was very expensive, but I get theme they were going for...but fell short. Average motel type room but everything in the room worked. It was also very clean with one exception...the carpet! I was afraid to walk in my bare feet! The place was very non-responsive in communications before and after our stay...very hard to reach. The lady at the reception desk was very nice and helpful.

STAY AWAY. I filed a police report with Basecamp in Tahoe City. The front desk manager charged me double the nightly rate as discussed upon checking in (before taxes and fees). This business is a fraud. Additionally, I have never seen such a poor cleaning staff. There is trash EVERYWHERE on property, and staff walks right by it. It smells terrible outside of the main building.

Stayed this past week for spring skiing at Palisades & Alpine. Clean, updated rooms, comfortable beds, convenient location walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the lake, and rental shops. Short drive to slopes. Friendly staff. Hip lobby. Would stay again!

I am a regular guest at Basecamp in Tahoe City. This is my go-to place to stay on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. I have stayed in a variety of different rooms (King, 2 Queens, Queen + loft) and have always had a very good experience. The rooms are very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, there are a number of amenities including 2 large common areas for gathering (with sofas, dining tables, fireplace, microwave, coffee in the a.m., wine/beer bar, games, outdoor patio, large screen TVs, WiFi, etc.), and the location is in the heart of Tahoe City. The rooms always have clean quality linens, good heaters, good shower pressure, WiFi, cable TV, individual reading lamps, etc. The manager, Summer, has been particularly helpful and knowledgeable. I will be back soon!

We booked last minute for a few nights to see the beautiful snow. This may have been the reason why we were booked in the first room near the lobby front door. I will say the room was spacious however, it was handicap accessible and the shower nozzle sprayed all over the floor. The room was also very loud as staff and visitors entered into the lobby door. Every time the door slammed starting around 6AM. I would recommend being as far away from lobby as possible. This impacted my rating, because it wasn't the most pleasant stay due to this and the shower. The bar and amenities were lacking as well. It is a few seats right next to the check in counter and a relatively small lobby. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from in the area and within walking distance so that was nice. Location was great!

I booked this place for its location and it is in a lovely location. Unfortunately it is now between seasons so not everything is open, but that is not the fault of the hotel. Nice rooms and a helpful man on reception. WE stayed for 2 nights and on the second afternoon the TV stopped working (sound but no vision), someone was sent to our room straight away to look at it for us, he was not able to fix it but said he would see if there was a spare tv that he could give us. That was the last we saw of him, the hotel was probably half empty so I'm not sure why a TV couldn't have been bought in from one of those rooms. Granted, we did not chase, but we assumed he would be coming back with an answer for us. I also accept that a TV is not life and death, but we felt that we had been swept aside. When I checked out, and mentioned the broken TV the lady knew about it, and said that as we had booked through Bookings.com we could not be given any kind of discount to compensate for it. This wasn't really an issue, as everything else was ok, it just sounded like a bit of an excuse, as the room was paid for, regardless of how the money came to the hotel, so I cant see why we couldn't have been given a partial refund. Again, I didn't push. This was a nice quiet place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I would like to start off with the staff. The day of our trip, I was getting text communications from the staff to see what time we would arrive, I love that because a lot of hotels do not try to communicate and we typically have to call to see what time our room will be etc. I got a text saying our room was ready and to see what time we would arrive. We kept delaying our arrival and we arrived after hours, Marshall stayed after hours just so he can check us in and he did it with such grace. He found out it was my birthday and made my check in process so great. We absolutely adore him. Anything we needed, they were there to help. The atmosphere at Basecamp is the best. Rooms are exactly what the photo shows. Overall it was a really good stay.
