I was looking for a place to stay for one night while visiting a friend at a nearby home on the lake. This place was perfect. It has a very traditional 1950s, almost David Lynch "Twin Peaks" feel to it, with authentic wood paneling, quilted bed sheets and all the basic amenities you'd anticipate. I found it to be exactly...

This was our second stay at this hotel and it was only for one night. I want to be clear that I was staying in the cheapest room available. This place is fine for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer, if I did, I would have to try out one of the more expensive rooms because the walls in...

When we brought a group of 27 people to Tahoe to ski, staying at Tamarack Lodge was a total boon for our trip. The staff (and Gerard in particular) were extremely helpful, and made exceptional accommodation for us, even when we had to drop a couple of rooms, and when we arrived and checked in late due to bad traffic...

What a lovely surprise! We were expecting Tamarack Lodge to be quite basic but arrived to find that the room we had book had recently been updated, it was lovely, really cosy with a shiny new kitchen and all the cooking equipment that you could need. The owner was really welcoming and in the evening made a fire for all...

Thank you Team Tamarack Lodge for your gracious hospitality and kindness during our visit. This was our third stay in three years in your picturesque cabins and we were not disappointed! Gerard and the team were incredibly welcoming, helpful and generous in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for us. The fire and the outdoor barbecue did not go unappreciated...

We stumbled on Tamarack Lodge after leaving another local resort due to the cramped conditions. Tamarack could not have been more different. We had a cabin in the woods, with 2 bedrooms, one of which had twin beds, unusual in the States but ideal for our teenage sons. The owners are very involved, and make maximum effort to ensure their...

We’re glad you found us too, and even happier that we had our Lodge Cabin available for your stay. Some years ago we stayed in it for a month with our family and found it a very pleasant accommodation as well. Thanks for your complements on our breakfast. For those who might be allergic to nuts, let me make clear...

Very quaint spot near Tahoe City. Poker room was small but perfectly fine for our needs. No air conditioning but we didn't need it. Location is close to activities. We rented bikes and went to Squaw Valley which was a lovely ride along the Truckee River. Ate and drank at a few places in town that were great!

Our Poker rooms are simple, offering what you need for a good night’s sleep. They measure about 150 sq. ft. (14 sq. m.), big enough for their namesake card table and chairs, and adequate today for a queen bed and essential furnishings. As you said, air conditioning is not needed. Summer night time temperatures are no higher than the mid-fifties...

My wife and I stayed here in August for a wedding. We were both very impressed with the room and thought the updates were great! The ownership was very accommodating and allowed us early check-in so we could get ready for the wedding. We will definitely be back and fully recommend staying here.

To check-in early is a common request on summer weekends. We do our best to accommodate, but advise alerting us right away if you’ll have that need. Thanks for your complements on our Seven Woods King. We think it is great too.

We stayed at Tamarack Lodge for 5 nights at the start of August. We are a family of 4 from the UK with 2 boys aged 7 and 11. Rather unusually, we have been using public transport to travel around some of the major spots in California. We stayed in the 2 bedroom lodge and found it absolutely perfect for...

Thanks for proving that with a bus stop at the base of our driveway, a pedestrian/bicycle path across the street, and a bit of gumption, it is possible to vacation without a car while staying at Tamarack Lodge. We’re fortunate to be in such a nice spot with lots to explore nearby. The beaches you mention are in Lake Forest,...

What an amazing place!! We stayed there in Aug 2015 and had such a wonderful experience that we just had to come back. 10 of us in our group with jeeps and trailers. Thank you very much for staying with us again, and for bringing so many of your friends. Fortunately, we have a lot of parking, and your jeeps, trucks & trailers fit just fine. We look forward to seeing you next time you do the Rubicon Trail.
