I rarely write a negative review but feel compelled to here. We were excited to stay at this B & B based on the 5 star reviews. The location is great, and Sutter Creek is adorable. The room was nice, but the service was totally absent. Apparently under new ownership. Beware! We never saw anybody, even when we needed them. Due to Covid, check in was on our own. We misplaced our key and were locked out all day. Management didn’t return calls or respond to texts or emails. They were just “not there” all day Saturday. They had a staff member do all communication, but she wasn’t working Sat either. When we finally were able to order our in-room breakfast for Sun, late Sat night, for our second day, we finally got someone to respond who said “sorry, the 9:00 am slot is filled.” 9:30 or 10:00 were the only options. There were only two other guests! 9:30 is too late for us to eat breakfast. We like to get on with our day. So we left about 7:30 Sun. The owners provide two phone numbers, but they answered neither, and there was no voicemail. I feel that having no way to contact the owners directly for a 2-day stay is simply unacceptable. Perhaps new ownership is struggling to deal with Covid, but this left a bad taste in our mouth.…
My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at Foxes Inn in the Garden Room. It was a beautiful room. We just loved sitting in front of the fireplace enjoying a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee in the morning. The breakfasts were excellent. This will be our special getaway place from now on.
These women are amazing it's the small things that make luxury...luxury it's the tiny details that make everything just a little more special we very much enjoyed our stay and the food was divine very charming !
We have stayed in other downtown B&B's and walked past the Foxes Inn and have always wanted to stay. It looks charming on the outside as people would be sitting in the chairs around the lawn looking like they were having a wonderful time. When we finally were able to go we spent the night it was October 2019 during the fire power shutdown. We stayed in the lovely Garden room which has a cute little sitting area with a table for two, two side chairs in front of a fireplace and a tv above. The breakfast was included and it was delicious. We will now stay here in all future visits.
This is a fantastic B&B, maybe the best of any we have stayed at. They have retained the "Gold Rush" charm here. They offer made to order breakfast and serve it to your room or, if you prefer, in the garden (our choice). A nice old mining town with good restaurants within walking distance. Some local wineries have established tasting rooms right in Sutter Creek so you don't have to drive after sipping. I strongly recommend staying here. We will, again!
