The Strawberry Inn is a pretty basic hotel. Our room was clean but simple. We arrived late (after midnight) on a Friday and the bar/restaurant was absolutely hopping. It looked like every person in Strawberry was there. You could hear the music from half a mile away. The location is good for anyone heading into the Sierra via Pinecrest or destinations farther up Hwy 108. The Summit Ranger Station is also nearby for picking up wilderness permits.

After coming over the Sonora Pass (gorgeous drive, but very slow, windy, twisty), we were ready to eat, and this was the first thing we found. It's a delightful little facility, gorgeous views out the window, very friendly service, good food. Were we to come this way again, we'd make a point to stop here. Note, we're reviewing the restaurant only, can't speak to the motel itself.

We were going to go to one of our favorites for lunch but it wasn’t open. So we decided to go to the Strawberry Inn. We both had hamburgers mine with fries and my wife’s with onion rings. The burgers were the best I have ever had and the fries and onion rings were great and so many. Great service also. Very Surprised. Not to mention the beautiful river view. We will definitely be back.
