Discovered more cool rooms at this place ! Every room has its own charm and they have really nice tubs with shower. Nice Manager ! My family really liked it here. The cat from next door greeted us we arrived and what a fantastic set up !
The inn keeper repeatedly gave us hard time as if it was our problem that we got a good rate for our room not directly from the hotel. She penalized us that since we got a good rate, we don't get breakfast (this is a bed & breakfast hotel and the hotel website said every room has complimentary breakfast). She also charged us $18 resort fee per day while she charged other clients $15. I resort fee was for housekeeping and parking. We have no housekeeping plus there was not enough parking where we had to park our car along the wall. When we walked upstairs to our room, we found dog/cat feces on the staircase. During our stay, we heard her yelling and calling for a dog/cat from our windows. The room was small, aged, and dirty. It was a very unpleasant/painful stay.
I cannot recommend making a reservation here until the pandemic is over because someone here has lost her mind. My wife and I have been frequent (and satisfied) guests here, and we were looking forward to staying here - - despite the increasing difficulty of their staircase with my mild-moderate mobility impairment. We reserved our usual king bed and at 10 am on arrival day, received a text asking "are you arriving today?" Seriously? "Of course". Their only king bed room was "not available" due to a "plumbing problem" and offered us an inferior room at no reduction in the price. Web site shows not only "our room" but also their second king bed room available for that night and the balance of our three-night stay. We offered to take the inferior room, but sleep in the king bed room and avoid use of its bathroom. Could not / would not agree to this - - because "no housekeeper available" (they blamed that on the pandemic)...and "the room has not been serviced for the past three nights, awaiting the plumbing repair" And they decided to notify us at 10 am on arrival day, when they had known about the problem since the weekend? As has been our experience before, very difficult just to get them to answer their phone, reply to voice mails or texts. Again... "seriously? Anyone can make a bed. We offered to make the bed ourselves." Refused again to offer any other solution. Refused to assist with booking another property, We booked ourselves at the Residence Inn Pasadena, at a lower rate and learned that it was less than 50% occupancy. We even offered them a second chance to recover some of their lost $500 sale. The only offer was "we promise that the plumbing problem will be fixed by 4 pm". And no discount for not honoring our original reservation. Why would we trust them to have it fixed later in the afternoon? We declined. We wish them well to recover from the stress of the pandemic. I am not optimistic that they will know where to go to get some common sense.…
The Arroyo Vista is on majestic hilltop in South Pasadena right down the road from Los Angeles Highland Park. It’s a relaxing getaway away from LA chaos. Comfortable bed and views of the forest and hills. It’s like staying as guest in a Mansion but very cozy and warm. You’re surrounded by nature and there is a cute cat that comes around and meows and plays when you sit on front porch. Stressed? Visit this place. Intimately relaxing and enjoyable.
This inn is in a historic mansion at the top of a hill with awesome views. The morning breaky was lovely. The rooms are large and graciously decorated. And each room has its own bathroom , tv and beautiful views. One of our rooms had a hot tub! We went for a run each day down the hill, along the canal, past the horse ranch, under bridges. Each room had a workspace. We got a lot of work done. If you are in town for business, family visits, Rose Bowl, this is the only place. Janice is amazing! The self checkin was very convenient.
