I decided it was finally time to take a break from “family responsibilities” for a night, aka mom duties. Sonoma Mission Inn was the perfect spot for this. From my arrival to the hotel, checking in at the front desk, enjoying a beverage around the fire pits, best night sleep in a year, and finally my departure. It was all flawless. Every employee was friendly and welcoming. The wood burning fireplace in my room was a perfect surprise. I was able to catch up on a good book with a bottle of bubbly. The location makes local venues easily accessible, but I really didn’t need to leave once reaching the property as they had everything I needed. The food truck and live music on Friday night was great. Cannot wait to come back.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I just returned from 5 nights at the Mission Inn. It was excellent. The resort is able to roll with the punches that Covid 19 has thrown. We felt safe. The room was very clean, beautiful decor, comfy bed, strong A.C. (it was very hot outside). The staff was as friendly and helpful as always. Great spirit. The spa was closed but the main pool was open, fewer lounge chairs allowed for more spacing. Guests are asked to wear masks when moving around. Everyone followed the rules. Again it felt safe. Pool food and beverage service was great. The main restaurant is only open for breakfast so the pool bar/restaurant is the main on-site option. On the weekend there was a food truck in the driveway offering another option. A guitar player preformed one night. We didn't eat but enjoyed some wine and music. Restaurants on the downtown square were open for outdoor dining. Shops were open although with shortened hours. Wine tasting available outdoor only, mostly by reservation. It was an excellent vacation. We needed a get away, this was perfect. Wine country is open. The Sonoma Mission Inn is spotless and awesome.

It's great to receive a gift card to a prestigious property like the Sonoma Mission Inn. This amplifies our overall disappointment with the hotel. Our reservation was made early. We're old folks. On arrival at 11pm, we were placed on the second floor of this no-elevator establishment. That's a heck of a climb. And it took a while to get luggage help. Several other disappointments, too, and I listed them on my review at the hotel's website. My warning if you plan to book: demand a first floor room if you are old and have trouble with steps. Demand next-day housekeeping (they did not resupply or make up our room). Luxury stay my tuckas.

Dear Murry S, thank you so much for recently staying with us even though it certainly seems we made some service oversights when we allocated you a 2nd floor room in our main building, which unfortunately due to it being the original resort built in 1927, we don't have an elevator for these rooms. I will be utilizing your feedback as a great learning opportunity for my team as we should have given you an opportunity to stay in other rooms that have elevator access or ground floor locations. Plus we certainly should have shared we are more than happy to service your room every day, or provide amenities when ever they are needed, as we are currently servicing our guest rooms every second day as part of our COVID-19 protocols to ensure our guests and colleague feel as comfortable and as safe as possible. Please accept my sincerest apologies and I do hope I have in some way been able to reassure you we certainly value our guest experiences and feedback as its extremely important to us. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you back soon. Yours sincerely, Edward Roe General Manager Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

I was in a Mission suite that was stunning! The bed was so comfortable and the rooms quiet. I loved the large balcony with the lounger chair and wood fireplace. The hotel was very busy while there but being down near my room was still very quiet. Love all the firepits around the property. I had a wonderful stay!!

From beginning to departure, our experience was a 10. The classic property coupled with the outstanding staff made our three day stay extremely relaxing and enjoyable. Each member of the staff, regardless of their role, was attentive, caring, professional and courteous. The food is terrific, the wine selection is unparalleled and the atmosphere is extraordinary. We look forward to many return visits.
