My husband and I had an absolutely lovely elopement and honeymoon at MacArthur Place Hotel this December. Laura and Michelle were extraordinarily helpful and answered a million questions as I quickly planned a wedding from across the country after our original wedding plans were affected by Covid. I honestly sent Laura dozens of emails and she responded graciously and helpfully to each one haha. Getting married privately in Sonoma and Zooming in our families was not our original plan by any means, but it may have ended up even more special than our pre-Covid vision. The grounds of MacArthur Place are STUNNING and the elopement package is a very good value. We loved staying at the charming Jasmine Cottage, enjoyed our complimentary spa visits, and really loved breakfast at Layla. Touches like the fireplace in our room and the heated bathroom floors truly elevated this experience. Everyone was friendly, particularly the young people who worked as valets. We also appreciated that the hotel is within such a short walking distance of the Plaza’s many restaurants and tasting rooms. We plan to visit MacArthur Place again for an anniversary trip at some point in future years! Truly a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. If I could offer one extremely MINOR area for improvement, I would mention that the heated pool feels cold during the winter. Honestly, we are not big swimmers so it was not a big deal for us, but we were surprised by how cold the “heated pool” felt. We got out after a few minutes. Still, not a big deal and a very easy fix!

Dearest Anjali, What an absolutely lovely, kind and thoughtful review. We are honored that you chose MacArthur Place as the setting for your special day, and we are so happy that our team was able to provide peace of mind every step of the way, ensuring your elopement and honeymoon were magical. Laura and Michelle are stellar (we are lucky to have them), and we will share your sweet note which will make their days. Again, a huge and heartfelt thank-you for your wonderful feedback (duly noted on the pool temperature!). Congratulations on this next chapter of your life, and please come back to stay with us again in the near future. All the best, Liddy

I'm slightly too into MacArthur Place, but its hard not to be. This hotel is my favorite in wine country for many reasons. They respect the new guard of wine makers and I've never been disappointed in their wine list. Their kitchen and resto on site is delicious and convenient. The staff is kind, welcoming and extremely quick with requests. I feel like I sleep better than I do at home, which I didn't think was possible. The art on property is stunning. I recommend it to all my friends, which is why I had to leave a review. If you're looking to go to Napa, Sonoma or even the Petaluma area, I highly recommend MacArthur.

Room Tip: Highly recommend the suite. All accommodations are lovely, but the fireplace + bath tub are worth...

Dear Y4028MBmeganl, This may be our favorite review of the year! Thank you for the kind and supportive feedback, and for your thoughtful appreciation of the details that make the experience. We've worked passionately to curate things like our wine list, the super-comfy beds and of course our collection of hand-picked art pieces, many of which were made expressly for MacArthur through our partnership with Tappan Collective. It's music to our ears when repeat guests such as yourself spotlight the finer points of your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. All the best, Liddy

Lovely property. The restaurant 'Layla' was decent & convenient. But their specialty coffee was overrated, they need to train their barista better. I didn't like that we could smell smoke from inside the room on & off, one of the other occupants must've been smoking weed. Overall, a positive experience, with room for improvement especially in the finer details.

My fiance and I stayed here last weekend and had an incredible time. MacArthur Place was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at; spectacularly modern with updated rooms, a beautiful property, great location close to downtown, incredible food at Layla, and very friendly staff! We felt very safe visiting in the COVID environment, with our room having been thoroughly sanitized and all the staff taking precautions when we interacted with them. The dining at Layla was at an outdoor-ish tent with heat lamps and spaced out tables; we felt very safe eating there (also, the food was wonderful!) The rooms are chic, modern, and even have wonderful tech which makes it feel that much more glamorous (such as touch panels that control all the lights, and a chromecast on the 65" TV). I believe the entire hotel was renovated only a few years ago, and it shows. The outdoor paths are dotted with cozy gas firepits that were wonderful to sit around in the daytime and when it got chilly at night. Lastly, everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and they went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable time, particularly when they found out that we got engaged over the weekend. We will absolutely be coming back for future visits to Sonoma!

My family visited MacArthur Place during Labor Day. With the COVID situation and fires we were hesitant to leave our home, but really needed a change of scenery. We couldn't have picked a better place - within driving distance of San Francisco. Everyone was super friendly - from the front desk staff, to the restaurant staff, everyone made you feel welcome, and in these times, safe. We were glad to see everyone, including guests, wearing masks and taking the proper social distancing precautions. The property was recently renovated, and the taste is impeccable. Very clean and modern. We're already planning a return trip in October to this wonderful place.
