Heidi, Doug, Inge and Jordan are cordial, professional hosts, as well as great cooks. The meals were varied and delicious. The single cabin was clean, comfortable and roomy. My fishing guides, Adam and Jack, are knowledgeable re the river, the fish and local lore. They gave me good tips on technique and fishing spots and put me on over 50 steelhead and salmon in three days. The deer are plentiful and the bears fat. Sorry I missed the two elk herd roaming vicinity of the ranch. Friendly dogs and horses.Beautiful scenery. A group of folks I intend to visit again.

We just returned from Marble Mountain Ranch and ALL had the most amazing time. The Owners have done a Superb job in finding the sweet spot for timing and arranging everything from activities to meals. We experienced four activities per day: Horse riding trails, arena practicing, shooting and afternoon river rafting. The daily activities were the same; but the trail rides and rafting runs were different each time. No one felt rushed or that it was too intense. It was all so perfect; including the amazing meals. This was a bucket list trip and due to COVID, this was the trip for us. Everyone was cautiously safe and we all returned rested and our internal clocks reset. I highly recommend for any family.

I will begin with a frame of reference. Generally, my family and I take all of our vacations tropical, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Caribbean etc. With the the whole Covid thing our options became very limited, Kids were due to start back to school, but have been trapped at home for months. My wife started searching for vacations, that accommodated the Covid environment but allowed the kids to get outdoors and be active. This was never on my list of to do vacations, but we didn't have a lot of options, so I figure it is better than nothing. I have to think of where to begin, other than to say this has been my favorite vacation to date. After all of the activities I must say that the best thing was being off grid and away from electronics, great for the kids and great for the adults. There is a small area where you can access wifi to check those all too important emails, but after a day or two, they didn't seem that important. It was great, pace of life just slowed down. Then there were the activities. Don't worry, no internet, no problem. There is plenty to do from the get go. Starting with breakfast in the morning, then right into one of three morning activities, Arena riding (teaching/practicing horse handling), trail riding (riding horses on the trails), then the shooting range (.22 rifles, black powder muzzle loaders, shotgun/skeet, archery, tomahawks and paintball.), followed by lunch, then afternoon river rafting/white water then an amazing meal. Doug and Heidi (owners/operators) were amazing, and their leadership is reflected in the amazing staff that makes the whole trip such an enjoyable experience. This has been my favorite trip to date, and I would like it to be my next trip. I highly recommend it. I was a little hesitant to write this review, as they can only take so many people/families a season, and I hope they have space for us when we can come back :-). If you choose this for a vacation destination you will not be disappointed, did I mention the food was incredible. Apologies, I tried uploading more photos, but I guess the iPhone photo format isn't working so hot with the tripadvisor format.

After COVID put a kibosh on our plans for college campus tours down the coast, we had to find a plan B for our family vacation. On a recommendation from a family friend, we looked into Marble Mountain Ranch. This plan B turned into an amazng experience! The ranch is a 6 hour drive up Highway 101 from the Bay Area, taking you through beautiful redwood forests and along several rivers. The ranch is situatied right along the Kalamath River and is nesteled into a beutiful forest. The accomodations are clean and comfortable (with Air Conditioning). The owners (Doug and Heidi) are wonderful hosts and the ranch hands and river guides they have hired are top notch. Each day we had three different activities (Arena riding, trail riding, Shooting and Rafting). The order of activities rotated each day. The trail horseback riding and instruction was a lot of fun for me, my wife and my two teenage kids (17 year old girl and 15 year old boy). The horses are well cared for and well trained. Instruction is careful and constructive and the ranch hands are attentive and safety conscious. The trail rides each day are beautiful and while I would have liked some opportunities to trot on the trails, we had small kids in our riding group so I know they need to keep things safe for all the riders in the group. The shooting was a lot of fun as well and I was very appreciative of Doug's careful, methodical approach to gun safety. This is a great intro to guns and gun safety for adults and kids and the safe approach to handling the guns is what made it comfortable and fun for the kids. River rafting was an absolute blast. We chose to paddle as a family 3 out of the 4 trips. On the 4th trip, my kids took inflatible kayaks down the river. The river has class 4 rapids at several points which were trip highlights for my kids. We also did the hike up to the waterfall mid-way down one of our rafting trips. This hike is rigorous (lots of slippery rocks and some tricky foot placements, but the waterfall is worth the effort. Doug and his other river guides are very skilled at navigating the river safely and some of the boats chose to have them row (which saved the smaller kids from having to paddle themselves). The food prepared by Heidi was delicious and the variety was accomodating to my somewhat picky-eater kids. They also offered a variety of beer and wine for the adults at dinner. Overall, an incredible family vacation! On our ride home, the kids had a hard time picking what the favorite event was....skeet shooting, class 4 rapids, the "Pony Express" arena challenge.... One thing they did agree on was that they definitely wanted to go back to Marble Mountain Ranch!

My son and I just returned from Marble Mountain Ranch. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for. It was the perfect combination of outdoor activities. Glamping it isn't. You will have the time of your life, but will go to bed each night relaxed and tired. The food, staff, and accommodations were great. We came back with a lot of father/son memories. If you have teenage kids, this is the place for you!
