Being from Denmark it is fun to see how they have aimed for danish style and have done it very well. The room was quite Big and sleeping quality very good. All over the staff was nice. This is really good value for money. All my Best recommendations.

I can't tell you how impressed we were with this hotel. I will get my one complaint out of the way - signage at the door - it only indicates Mad & Vin, the restaurant located inside, so it was difficult when I first arrived to figure out where to go. Decor is amazing, atmosphere was beautiful, service was exceptional,...

First time staying since the change from the Petersen Village Inn. I was very happy with the changes. Beautiful, modern and very clean. Loved the art work throughout the hotel. The bar right by the lobby is a great spot for a leisurely drink and overlooks the street for people watching. The location is perfect with good restaurants right across...

The Landsby is perfectly located in the center of Solvang. The rooms are lovely, though ours was the smallest in its room class. Our friends paid the same amount for a much larger room. When we mentioned it, though, they gave us discount on our rate. Helpful hint: Call directly or book through Expedia. Don't use their hotel website. The...

This new hotel is absolutely charming. I loved the Danish style which is so clean and geometric. The black and white theme throughout the hotel is gorgeous. The tile on the staircase risers is a beautiful touch. Loved every inch of the room down to the cute animal artwork on the walls.

We came to experience the town, but it rained so we ended up spending a lot of time in the room. Thank goodness we chose the Landsby because it was one of the most comfortable rooms I have stayed in. Every detail of the room has the highest quality, the sheets, the towels, the soaps, the furniture, everything! We had...

My husband and I stayed at The Landsby in April for two nights as part of our US honeymoon West Coast road trip. We were so well looked after, the design of the place is incredible and the staff fantastic. We stayed for two nights in a gorgeous room with an incredible corner aspect view. If you're a design fanatic...

We absolutely loved The Landsby! It is charming, inviting, and full of life! The staff, décor, and food/wine are excellent and give the feel of a European boutique hotel. It is located central to all the shops in Solvang and wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley. We give it a 5/5 rating and can't wait to return for another...

Solvang isn't known for the quality of their accommodations as most places are outdated and feel more like a 'motel' than a nice inn or resort. After doing extensive research online, The Landsby seemed like the best option...and in all likelihood, it probably is. The rooms are updated and clean. We booked a 2 queen Jr. Suite (Rm. 1) and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The welcoming lobby and bar have a lively atmosphere and makes for the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. All guests have access to the property's outdoor garden lounge. It provides an oasis for guests to relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Our Executive Chef creates dishes that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesdays - Sundays days in addition to daily breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
