Spent only one night, but really enjoyed it. This place has a modern and spacious feel, with a restful, neutral color scheme. I appreciated the comfortable bed and the bath products by L'Occitane. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel also has a great location, right in the center of town. Would stay there again.

Didn't stay there as we are locals.....just great location for happy hour. Only problem was the server dropped the wine glass on our table, wine went everywhere (including some on us, fortunately white), glass dropped to the floor and broke in many pieces. A real mess and we switched tables. So it was a shame that they didn't realize this...

Very friendly. Easy check in. Great rooms--clean and comfortable. Very relaxing place. Location was right on for our purpose. Knowledgeable personnel who were able to direct us to the p[laces of interest. Food and drinks were good and provided in a quick fashion.

The best part of our one-night visit to Solvang was our stay at The Landsby. Perfectly located near everything. Wonderful modern accommodations. Yet still warm and comfortable. Covered parking is a plus in the summer (which in this part of California extends well into fall). And the hotel's restaurant, Mad & Vin, is amazing. Our room was at the end...

A relative gave me a rave review of the Landsby so we were so excited for our stay. Boy was I disappointed and unhappy. First, they had us sign that we had to pay $75 if we cancelled our second night. Should have been a red flag right there. Then, no offer of helping us with luggage. We had to...

I am sad to write this review: I staid here one before and everything was excellent! This time, spider webs in the room, welcome chocolate wrap paper on the bed (and no chocolate so maybe housekeeper was craving chocolate...!), common restroom in the lobby dirty and when you lay in the bed you can't turn off lights as the control...

Newly remodeled with a very distinct current Modern Danish feel. I went to Copenhagen last March and The Landsby felt like some of the best spots from the city. I fell in love. If you want to visit Solvang, but the more historical Kitsch feel of the town isn't for you, this will be perfect. I had lovely meals at...

In the center of town, Danish style hotel. Clean Scandinavian styling in furniture and rooms. Breakfast included is only granola, muffins, orange juice and milk -- enough for some, but other dishes can be purchased. Helpful staff.

We loved our stay at The Landsby! We only had one night as we were "touring" various locations in California, and we didn't want to leave the next morning! Our room was very large and super clean. The decor was very relaxing and up to date. The entire hotel had a nice, simple "Scandinavian" feel about it.....an old world feel....

I took my parents here for a quick one-night stay and we adored this hotel. The decor is beautiful and the fire pits were fantastic at night. You can't beat the location and the restaurant was rather delicious too. We'll be back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a newly renovated 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The hotel lobby has been completely reconstructed to add relaxed lounge spaces and a new bar. The bar's lively atmosphere will be the perfect place for patrons to gather and enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. Standard room rates start at $225 and suites start at $329. All guests will have access to the property's redesigned outdoor garden lounge. This new space will prove an oasis for guests can relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's highly anticipated restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Executive Chef Seth Nathan will develop a specialized menu that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner seven days a week in addition to daily breakfast. A complimentary breakfast will be included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
