We (2 couples) came to Sierra City for a car show & stayed at the High Country In for 2 nights. It is a beautiful peaceful setting. Bob greeted us, entertained us and cooked the most amazing breakfasts. He has a wonderful sense of humor and we loved every minute of our stay. The fresh fruit was the best I... More

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at High Country Inn. Not enough. This is the absolute best B&B we have ever stayed at from New Orleans to San Juan Islands in Washington State. We stayed in the Golden Pond room, big, spacious and beautifully decorated. The King size bed was extremely comfortable and the sound of the Yuba... More

We were staying near Sierra City for a friend's wedding and were lucky to discover the High Country Inn. The grounds are beautifully well kept and the creekside hammock is a delight. Our room was clean and well appointed and the bathroom was great. As soon as we arrived Bob was very helpful directing us to some nearby hikes. There... More

Driving into the High Country Inn you see meticulously cared for grounds and beautiful hanging plants on the porch. There is a pond in the backyard and a river running next to the property! You are then greeted by Bob or Bette who welcome you like family and show you to your well appointed and stylish room. 5 Star all... More

I came upon this little slice of heaven because there wasn't any rooms left at the lodge in Calpine for Comatopia a music festival I was attending. Thank goodness! If not I never would have found High Country Inn. I've never left a place more rested and refreshed. Thanks Bob! Blessings, Chauna

I was glad to have seen you out on the Hammock along side of the Yuba River really just enjoying the peace and quiet of the Inn. I always like when guests spend time there or at my Special Medication Place next to the river with just one chair, so folks can have some real unwind time in the middle... More

We stayed in the Howard Creek room for three nights and loved every minute. The view from the room takes in the lovely pond behind the inn, the birds enjoying the cracked corn and peanuts Bob the innkeeper feeds them, and the beautiful hills in the distance. Our room even had a great little deck for late-afternoon admiring of the... More

High Country Inn Outstanding location nestled in the high pines outside of Sierra City. Bob, the 5 star innkeeper has a wealth of information regarding the people, places and history of Sierra County and can that man cook. Breakfast is a highlight not to be missed. Bring a book. Sit on the deck looking out at the mountains, on the... More

Stay: really all positives - very comfortable home, beautiful grounds with lots of wildlife, and nice common areas. But Bob (the host) goes all-out on the breakfast - fresh fruit, just-baked bread, savory omelets, and delicious sides. Location: High Country Inn is in the middle of everything, making access to Downieville, Sierra City, Lakes Basin, and Graeagle really easy. As... More
